Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1285

Not long after Amelia left, the door to Gramps Hopper's ward was pushed open again. The look on Gramps Hopper was pale as if he had suffered from a great strike, Owen, who pushed a dining cart in, felt strange and frowned. He asked, "Grandpa, what's wrong with you?"

Gramps opened his mouth and muttered something as if he had not heard Owen's words.

Owen, who was far away from Gramps could not hear him clearly. He pushed the dining cart to the front of the old man and bent down to listen to what the old man was talking about.

"Did I overdo it?"

Owen's gaze froze as he heard about his words. He could not help but reach out and shake Gramps Hopper's shoulder gently. He asked with concern, "Grandpa, did someone make you angry?"

"Ah?" Gramps Hopper was shocked and looked back at Owen. When he saw that it was Owen, the old man immediately vented his anger on Owen and said, "It's you! When did you come? You gave me a fright!"

Owen touched his nose and thought that it was not the right time for him to come. He replied. "I came a moment ago, but you ignored me when I called you. I thought you were not feeling well, so I came to have a look at you. Oh, grandpa, don't you want some Italian food? I'd bought it for you. Why don't I serve it to you when it's still warm?"

Gramps subconsciously glanced at the dining cart beside Owen. The smell of the food seemed to waft up from the iron plate. Gramps Hopper gulped his saliva secretly, but his face was full of disdain. "Keep it, I have no appetite!"

Owen immediately knew that something was going on with Gramps Hopper.

He quickly pulled up a nearby chair and sat down, then put on a wicked tone. "Grandpa, what happened during my absence? Say it. If someone pissed you off, I'll be the first one to punish him!"

Gramps Hopper did not say a word.

Seeing the grief on Gramps Hopper's face, Owen laughed dryly and conjectured, "Could it be that Patrick had visited you?"

There was only one possibility in Owen's mind. Only one person was daring enough to go against Gramps Hopper and made him so angry. It was undoubtedly Patrick.

"It's not him." With his head down, Gramps Hopper looked extremely upset and said, "It's his wife!"

Owen asked unexpectedly, "Ah, it's Amelia?"

Gramps Hopper glared at him and said, "Of course! If Patrick dares to marry anyone else except for Amelia, I, I'll whip him to death!"

The corners of Owen's lips twitched. "Grandpa, don't get so worked up. I just can't understand it. Every time Amelia visited you, you were happy and always had a good appetite. But why did she trample your good spirit this time? I'll have a good conversation with her later!" Owen said as he pretended to be stern.

"Don't! It's not her problem, it's mine..."

Gramps was in high spirits after being interrupted by Owen. So he told the truth about him using Kayla to probe Amelia.

When Owen heard the matter until the end, he felt that something was amiss and asked, "Did she approve of Kayla and Patrick being together?" Gramps's face darkened. Evidently, he did not wish for such a thing to happen. "I can't say that she'd approve of it. But I feel like something weird is going on."

Owen suddenly said, "I understand it!"

Gramps was refreshed all of a sudden. "What do you know? Tell me!"

Owen said, "When Amelia heard that Kayla might be with Patrick, not only did she not object, but she put in a good word for Kayla. This proves that Amelia had already given up on Patrick."

Gramps shook his head. "I don't think so. I remember that she reacted very strongly when I mentioned it. We're holding hands tightly at that time. I could feel it!"

Owen pondered for a moment and said, "That means she's not positive enough in this relationship. She doesn't want to take the initiative to get Patrick back, but it's understandable. After all, divorce hurts a lot for a woman, especially in terms of feelings."

Gramps nodded. Owen's words resolved his doubts. That was why Amelia decided to give up on Patrick even when she cared about him!

This struck the old man, who had always strategized everything well. "Owen, others might not know my thoughts, but you are clear. I encouraged Shawn to pursue Amelia and arranged a blind date for Kayla and Patrick to incite them to get their feelings straight. But it seems that the situation is not good!"

Owen glanced at Gramps and said hesitantly, "Grandpa, in fact, I've been trying to persuade you for a long time. The relationship issue is not something that others can interfere with..."

"I'm not talking about whether I should intervene or not, but what should I do after I've intervened!" The capricious old man, who was being alluded to as officious, was so angry that he slammed the table!

Owen raised his dashing eyebrows and thought, why was Patrick's problem a burden to him? "What can I do now? Grandpa, I could only advise you to think about it from another perspective."

Gramps Hopper asked in frustration, "From what perspective?"

Owen rolled his eyes and said, "Think about it. There's a good person around Patrick and Amelia now, isn't there?"

"Yes, I did it on purpose. What's the matter?"

"Then isn't it fine? If Patrick and Amelia are unable to get together again because they were incited by others, then just let their relationship go according to nature. At that time, Grandpa might even be able to attend their wedding ceremony..."

Before Owen could finish his words, Gramps silently pulled out the Dragon Head Crutch that had been placed under the blanket and held it in front of Owen. The intent to kill flashed in his eyes!

Owen was choked with shock. He quickly waved his hand and said, "Just take my words as bullshit!"

Only then did the Dragon Head Crutch retreat.

At this time, Owen took out the plates from the dining cart and opened the lid to attract Gramps's attention.

"Well, since you say so, I'll just have some." Gramps got up from the bed, and he stole a glance at the dishes. Although he said, "Just a little," his gaze was stuck on the dishes.

Half an hour later.

Gramps put down his chopsticks and smacked his lips while he asked, "Owen, do you think there is any room for us to turn back the matter of your brother and sister-in-law?"

Why did he mention it again?

Owen was having a headache after hearing Gramps's words. He was not Cupid. He had no way to see the fate of others!

Owen wanted to pretend that he did not hear

Gramps's words, but the old man's hand was on the Dragon Head Crutch, and it was not difficult for him to take it out at any time. So Owen said cautiously, "There should be some way..."

"Oh?"

"I wasn't going to tell you about what happened next because it'll make you worry about it. But, it seems that Amelia has been dogged by a problem these two days, and I think only Patrick can help her."

"What happened to that girl? Why won't she let me know at all!" Gramps frowned and said.

The feeling of being treated like an outsider was annoying. It was all because of Patrick. Why did he want to divorce?

Owen said diplomatically, "Maybe she thinks that it's not something worth mentioning to you."

Gramps's expression became softer after hearing Owen's words. "Well, you can call Patrick now. I'll get him to help her!"

After walking away from Gramps's ward, Amelia took the elevator to Shawn's room in a trance, thinking about what Gramps had said before.

"Apart from Kayla's family background and appearance, her delicate personality was a perfect match to Patrick's. You both have a strong temper and were not willing to give way to each other, that's why the situation spiraled out of control."

Amelia used to think that her divorce from Patrick was because of Sissi and Sawyer. Now, after listening to Gramps's words, she felt that she has gotten to the root of the problem.

In this bittersweet marriage, apart from Sissi and Sawyer, there were more bitter moments than there were sweet. Ultimately, it was their personalities and values that did not match, which was why they could not get along with each other.
