Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1294

"Uh..." Amelia blamed Kaleb secretly and said with a guilty conscience, "I am trying to persuade Kaleb."

Patrick asked unavoidably, "But, I want to hear it from you. Was there really nothing between us?"

Amelia gave a dry laugh and said, "Mr. Hopper, it's getting late. Have you had breakfast yet? Shall I pick you up?"

Facing her evasion, he sneered coldly and said. "Coward."

Amelia was secretly angry. How could she be a coward? She was obviously focusing on the bigger picture!

She said as calmly as possible, "Mr. Hopper, you haven't answered my question yet."

He answered, "Have you answered mine?"

Facing such a tough guy, Amelia thought of a way to get rid of it. "How about this? I didn't answer your question, and you didn't answer my question. Then we're even, right?"

Patrick calmed down on the other side of the phone. Then snorted, "You are very clever."

Amelia stuck out her tongue and said, "You flatter me."

Patrick was probably stumped by her shamelessness, so he said angrily, "I am now on the Land of Fragrance. You can come as soon as possible. I am hungry."

"Alright, I'll be right there!"

After Amelia finished speaking, she immediately put away the phone, took off the bag on the hanger, opened the door, and went downstairs.

Amelia thought that if she went to Patrick earlier, she could prevent him from changing his mind suddenly.

"Alice, good morning!"

As soon as she arrived at the living room, Amelia heard Alice say, "Amelia, breakfast is done..."

Amelia interrupted in a hurry. "It's okay. I won't have breakfast at home this morning!"

Alice asked curiously, "Why? Is the court open so early?"

Amelia explained, "It's not, but before that, I have to go somewhere to pick up the witness and settle breakfast with him on the way." "I see." Alice nodded in understanding. "Amelia, then I'm not having breakfast either. I'll go with you."

"What?" Amelia was stunned for a moment and realized that Alice had dressed very formerly today. She came back to her senses and stopped him.

"Alice, I can handle this matter by myself. You don't need to go with me!"

If they got there and found that the witness she was going to pick up was Patrick, would Alice be even more worried?

Alice looked at her and said, "But, Amelia, it's such a big matter. I won't be at ease if you go alone. Don't worry. I'm just going to observe the trial. I won't get you into trouble."

Amelia said, "Well... why don't you have your breakfast at home first, then let the driver take you to the court. After all, it's still early. You don't have to walk around with me with an empty stomach. I would also be worried about you. What do you think?"

"All right." What Alice feared the most was to burden Amelia. Since Amelia said so, she would listen to her.

Amelia smiled and said, "Alice, I'm heading out first. See you later."

"Okay." After Alice responded, she sent Amelia out of the door.

She stood where she was, and watched as Amelia's silhouette gradually faded away. The morning light had pulled her shadow very long and also very slender. Alice could not help but sigh. No matter how strong Amelia was, she was still a woman. She could not just let Amelia go alone...

Amelia's biological mother had passed away for a long time, and George was still unconscious. When the matter with Mr. Quade was settled, she must pay more attention to Amelia and let her get over the failed marriage as soon as possible and regain her happiness!

At the Land of Fragrance.

When Amelia drove here, the corners of her eyes were slightly wet. She refused to admit that she missed this place. She missed the perfect planned streets, the rivers that she could sail on, the rows of lush green trees, and finally, the villa that she had lived in for a long time...

Stop!

She came here today not to reminisce!

She patted her cheeks to cheer herself up. Amelia did not want to look pathetic. She gave up everything here, and what she had to do was not dwell in the memories but continue moving forward. Just treat it as the scenery. Everything will be okay!

When she passed through the gate of the Land of Fragrance, the security guard on duty recognized her and could not help but exchange a few words with her.

Amelia said that she came back to collect the luggage that she left here, so the security guard nodded and let her pass.

When she parked the car in front of Patrick's villa, Amelia realized that the flowers in the garden were all dead!

She took a look around but, the flowers that she had carefully irrigated had now become withered...

The buds, which had not been in full bloom, were dangling on the ground. Some petals were even rotten. Amelia felt her heart aching. How could a sweet home become like this?

At that point, Amelia tried to pull herself together as she put one hand on the railing, and the other was about to press the doorbell, only to find that the fence gate opened when she pushed on it. She might as well walk along the garden path. Unexpectedly, the door to the main house was unlocked, so she gently twisted and opened the door.

Patrick then leaned on the edge of the corridor, looking coldly at Amelia, who stood downstairs. He did not seem to care about the passing of time.

Amelia realized that it would be wasting her time for her to wait for him like this. She walked upstairs in anger and stood a meter away from him, asking, "Mr. Hopper, I've come up. Then?"

"Follow me." Patrick pointed at the opened master bedroom.

"Why do I need to go in? I am not the owner of this place!" Amelia shook her head vigorously.

Patrick fell silent again, looking as if he had got Amelia by the short hairs.

Amelia pulled a long face and warned, "Let's make it clear. Don't do anything strange!"

She did not remember how many times she had said these words to Patrick. He could not keep his word, but she had to repeat it to show her standpoint!

Patrick raised his eyebrows and sized her up. "You're dressing boring today. I don't think I'll do anything to you."

"I hope so." As long as he was not all hands, it was not a problem to be rigid.

Amelia lowered her head and glanced at her wristwatch. It was still early, and she followed Patrick into the master bedroom.

As she walked, she could not help but ask softly, "Why are all the flowers in the garden withered?"

Patrick, who walked ahead, said lightly, "I forgot to water it."

Amelia said with pity, "Such beautiful flowers. It's a pity that it's withered."

Patrick did not say anything, as if he tacitly agreed with what she said.

"I think not only the garden had become a mess, but even the house had been covered with a layer of dust. You're living a primitive life, huh?"

Patrick's reason was simple. "I've been so busy lately that I forgot to clean up."

Amelia was speechless. He appeared in front of her almost every day. Could she believe that he was

busy with work?

"But anyway..." Patrick suddenly turned back to look at her with a sneer. "There is no woman at my home. Do you think it would be clean?"

Amelia was so angry that she choked with her breath. Then she turned her gaze away unnaturally. "You have plenty of money. Can't you hire someone to clean it for you? By the way, where is the housekeeper who comes to clean up every weekend?"
