Patrick was at her mercy obediently, he seemed like an 'ordinary man' as he had said to be.
As Amelia stopped the bleeding for him, she asked, "By the way, I've always wanted to ask you about the tape you gave me. I remember when I went to find the hotel manager, he told me that the original video had been destroyed by Mr. Quade with a high price. Was he lying to me?"
Patrick chuckled and said, "He wasn't lying, but I've found the hotel manager earlier than Mr. Quade. The tape he'd managed to get was actually a trap that I had set up with the hotel manager."
Amelia looked at him in surprise. "You mean..."
"On the night of the incident, I went to the hotel manager to look for all the video records of the room you're in and save them in a drive. The tape I gave you on the day of the court was actually a backup, as I've hidden the original drive secretly to prevent Mr. Quade from playing any trick in the dark. But, I didn't expect that my mom was the one who had eventually took action on us." At the end of his words, Patrick's eyes darkened.
Amelia admired his careful mind but felt sorry for he had suffered the unexpected tragedy at the
same time.
Patrick continued, "Before leaving the hotel, I've specifically asked the hotel manager to cooperate with Mr. Quade if he came to make him think that everything is under his control."
"I see!" Amelia finally understood about the whole story.
"Now, do you still have any questions?" Patrick turned to hold her hand that was holding the cotton swab.
"No." Amelia shook her head.
She had just felt relieved in her heart. Even a cunning fox like Mr. Quade was defeated by him, it was completely normal that she had failed in defending herself against him!
"Okay, now feed me." Patrick's tone sounded so casual as if Amelia was born just to do the intimate things for him.
The nurse next to him was greatly moved by his words. If she could be asked by such a handsome guy to feed him, she would definitely...
"I can't, it's about time for me to go meet Jessica. I don't want to stand her up again!" Amelia refused.
The nurse looked at Amelia as she was exasperated at her words.
Patrick had the same gaze as the nurse's. "Who's more important, Jessica or me? Forget it, you don't have to answer. I shouldn't humiliate myself. You may leave!"
As he spoke, he turned around on the bed with great effort and began to emit coldness with his back facing Amelia.
Under the nurse's "condemning" eyes, Amelia felt guilty and said, "You're important, more than anyone else, is that fine? But I didn't bring any food here. How am I going to feed you?"
Patrick instantly glanced at the nurse next to him.
The nurse quickly said, "The nutritionist in our hospital had specially prepared a hundred sets of nutritious lunchboxes for Mr. Patrick. I'll ask the canteen to send it to you now!"
Patrick pricked up his ears, waiting for Amelia's declaration.
Amelia nodded to the nurse. "Okay, sorry to trouble you."
Patrick then slightly pursed his lips into a seductive smile.
He could not help but looked back at Amelia with tenderness in his eyes. Unfortunately, Amelia missed it as she was talking to the nurse.
"It should be no other than her, as she was the culprit of the plot. If the news is leaked and the old man looks into it, she could hardly explain."
Although he was not on good terms with Gramps, he was his grandson after all. Moreover, Amelia was always supported by The Hopper Family. Therefore, the two of them together would definitely be able to defeat Eve.
Amelia sighed and said, "I know that you must be the one who's the most upset in the face of such a thing."
Patrick twitched his lips, looking indifferent. "It should be my mom who's upset. She had failed to murder her target, while the one she wanted to save is half-dead..."
Amelia could not help but interrupted softly, "Don't say that. The doctor said that you're recovering well and could be discharged soon."
Patrick nodded. "I know." "But then again, not to mention that your mother had blocked the news about our car accident, she should have hired some caretakers for you anyway."
Patrick only smiled in silence.
Eve had actually brought several groups of them, including experienced aunties, young and cute girls, as well as strong men, but they were all chased away by Patrick.
"Since there's no caretaker, you should come and see me more often. If I want to go to the toilet or take a bath, and the nurses take advantages of me, won't I fail to recover?"
Amelia frowned and asked, "Are you accompanied by nurses when you go to the toilet or take a bath? Are they male or female?"
"What if I say that they are female..." Seeing Amelia's face slightly freeze, Patrick quickly changed his words. "Fortunately, the male nurses do those things for me, but they could be gay as well. Don't you know that prevention is better than cure?"
Amelia thought that he had made it up, but she did not dare to say it directly. "Why would I need to prevent it? Can't you just let them stay away from you?"
