Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1342

Patrick could not help but panic as soon as Amelia expressed her gratitude towards him.

He was terrified to learn that Amelia had nothing left for him but gratitude. He had to admit that he was greedy and he wanted far more than mere gratitude. In fact, he wanted to have her heart too.

"Mrs. Hopper, why not we put aside everything in the past and start all over again, what do you say?" Patrick was a stuck-up person after all. For anyone who knew him well enough would immediately came to realize that he was indeed begging her at this moment.

Amelia's heart skipped a beat upon hearing his plead. In the next second, she replied faintly, "Start all over again? It's easy to say than done..."

Simply for the sake of preventing Patrick to be called onto the witness stand in favor of her, Eve had instructed Connor to run into her. If they were to get back together, Amelia was certain of a fact that Eve was going to be the first one to stand in their way.

At the sight of her gaze drifting away, Patrick muttered plaintively, "Mrs. Hopper, don't you tell me that you have no feelings for me anymore."

With that said, he grabbed her hand and placed it on his bandaged waist in a gesture of reminder.

Amelia's gaze fell on his waist. She had not forgotten the fact it was for her that he ended up in severe injury. At the same time, it was also for the sake of looking for her that he had to travel to Florence before his recovery.

She tried to blink away those tears welling up in her eyes. She glanced up at him gradually. In normal days, his slicked back hairstyle would undoubtedly make him look smart and confident. However, at this moment, she knew the reason why he had let his fringe down to cover his forehead.

Her gaze then met with his feverish eyes that was just an inch below his fringe. It was as if he could not wait to show her the amount of love he was yet to express to her behind those eyes. That was why she could not bring herself to tell in his face that she had no feelings for him.

Patrick reached out his hand and placed it gently on her pursed lips. Patrick had never intended to stress her out. He encouraged her gently, "Mrs. Hopper, don't overthink it. All you need to do is answer me honestly."

However, his words were no different than an invisible weight that was being put onto her

shoulder.

The truth was she did not know how to answer that question!

There was no doubt that her heart still beats for him. Nonetheless, she knew too well that she had so much more to overcome in her past marriage. She could not overlook the fact that Eve could never adore her and also people from the surrounding whom would never stop judging her. In addition, the presence of Kayla had complicated the whole situation. There was no way that they could get back together without first dealing with all these obstacles.

Amelia sighed. She threw her arms around Patrick's neck all in a sudden. She then buried her gloomy face on his shoulder before she hushed pitifully, "I don't have the answer for now. Can you not force me to answer it now?"

As Patrick heard Amelia's answer, Patrick could not help feeling anxious as he had been left hanging without having his question answered. Meanwhile, Amelia was smart enough to know that he always had a soft spot in his heart for her. As soon as she threw herself in his embrace, he could no longer push on that question.

He lowered his head and planted a soft kiss on her head. He reminisced, "I remember that you used to say you love me out loud. Where's that Mrs. Hopper now?"

Amelia was left startled. A bitter smile began to creep onto her face. She could not help but admire the courage she once had.

"But, it doesn't matter anyway. After all, I'm pretty confident towards my qualifications. Besides, I've proved to you I'm willing to sacrifice my life for you. These two points alone are enough to make you change your mind eventually."

At one point in time, Amelia realized that he had never boasted himself as much as he did so at this moment.

She could not help looking at his face. She then teased, "Why have I only realized now that you're such a narcissist?"

"Let me correct you. I'm not a narcissist. I'm just being confident." With that said, he spanked at her perky butt with his hand.

Amelia came close to screaming after his unexpected move!

At that moment, Amelia's face flushed red. She shot him a glare as she asked, "Why did you spank my... *ss?!" Her last word were almost inaudible as she uttered in embarrassment.

Patrick replied expressionlessly, "That's a punishment for you! You shouldn't have called me a narcissist."

Amelia fired back indignantly, "I was just speaking of the truth! You're a narcissist after all!"

As a result, she got another two forceful spanks at her butt again.

Amelia could not tell whether she was fuming or embarrassed. She grabbed his hand which was intended to land on her butt again. She snapped, "Hey! That's enough of you!"

Patrick turned around and blamed her instead, "How can you put the blame on me? No one asked you to call me that."

At the sight of Patrick not reasoning with her, Amelia was completely triggered, "That's obvious that you're looking for my troubles! I'm sure that's because I refused to answer your question earlier!"

Patrick's finger ran over her delicate nose gently before he lied, "Do you think I bother to find your troubles? My hand's still aching from the spanking!"

Amelia shoved his hand away. She then said indignantly, "Liar! I caught you laughing when you spanked me just now! How can you be such a pervert?!"

"Pervert?" Patrick's hunting gaze fell onto her face as he smiled insidiously, "Mrs. Hopper, it seems like

I need to show you what I will do if I were to be a pervert!"

"Ah!" Before Amelia got to process his words, in the next second he had once again come on top of her. With both of her hands being held over her head, Patrick took over the complete control of her again.

Amelia heard it very well that he addressed her as his wife during that phone call.

Amelia's heart skipped a bit. However, she remained in silence as if she had not overheard his conversation over the phone.

After Patrick hung up the call, he lifted her chin before he said pamperingly, "Your request has been notified. They are going to send it here at any time. Let me run you a bathe first."

"What?" His words took Amelia by shock. In the next second, Patrick got down from the bed and towered her. Flashing his bare sturdy chest, he asked, "Do you want to get down from the bed yourself, or you prefer to have me carried you?"

Amelia replied without a doubt, "I... I can get down on my own!"

Patrick stared at her with regret as she sat up and got down from the bed herself.

He took the opportunity to size her up. It was only then he realized that she was wearing a white shirt paired up with a pair of light-colored long pants. He could tell that it was Owen who got her the clothes she was wearing at this moment. After all, Patrick had seen Nora dressing up in such way at home from time to time.

While the men out there were dying to present their wives in the most beautiful way, the brothers of The Hopper Family seemingly were on the contrary. They would never expose their beauty of their wives to others. That was why they would rather their wives to dress up plain and dull. As Patrick thought about it, he could not help but find it irony.

At the sight of her who was about to step into the bathroom barefoot, Patrick shouted angrily, "Where are your shoes?!"

Amelia turned around as soon as she heard him. Before she could respond to his anger, Patrick had already squatted down in front of her. All in a sudden, he lifted one of her ankles. As a result, she lost her balance and immediately leaned forward. Fortunately, she managed to grab his shoulder to keep her from falling before she asked, "What are you up to again?"

"Don't be nervous. I'm not going to eat you. I just want to help you with shoes." With that said, he slipped one side of the slippers onto her foot before putting her leg back down again.

Amelia was yet to put on the slippers for another side of her foot. At the sight of Patrick reaching out to grab her ankle, she retracted her leg and said embarrassingly, "I can do it on my own."

Patrick held another side of the slippers in his hand, he said, "What's wrong with me doing this for you? After all, I've seen and touched every part of you. Hurry up! Let me put it on for you. I

wouldn't want you to catch a cold."

At the sight of his persistence, Amelia had no other choice but to bring her foot to him. She warned, "Don't blame if it stinks."

"Dummy! How could you criticize yourself?

Sometimes I wonder if you're a woman or not." After teasing her, he held her foot in his hand and began putting on the slipper.

Amelia replied steadily, "Don't you know that it was meant to be disclaimer?" All in a sudden, she came to think of something. Hence, she asked, "By the way, I haven't seen Huxton. Didn't he come with you?"
