Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1345

Wayne who was being chased out by Patrick, happened to run into Owen at the corridor.

Despite the fact that both of them had almost entered into a brawl two hours ago, Wayne knew very well that Owen was not his real enemy after all.

Therefore, Wayne greeted, "Hi, Captain Hopper"

"Well, hi." Owen did not mean to start a conversation with Wayne at the beginning. However, as soon as he noticed the first aid kit box on Wayne's shoulder, he hurriedly said, "Stop right there!"

Wayne stopped altogether before glancing at Owen. He smiled and asked, "Captain Hopper, is there anything I can help you with?"

"What's that on your shoulder?"

Wayne answered, "A first aid kit box."

"Who's injured?"

"One of our men..."

"Men? Hmph!" Owen snorted before he exposed his lie ruthlessly, "Patrick is the only one who stays on this floor. Tell me which man of yours who happens to stay here too."

Wayne thought of making up with further lies as he felt embarrassed. However, Owen ordered sternly, "Stop fooling me! Tell me now! Is it true that Patrick's injury has worsened?"

"Patrick, it's not that I don't want to help you. But, your own brother knows you better than anyone does! I don't mean to expose you to him!"

Upon murmuring to himself guiltily, Wayne had no other choice but nodded, "That's right. I've just changed his bandage for him. You're so brilliant! There's nothing that I can hide from you."

Unfortunately, his attempt to flatter Owen would never work. At this time, Owen ordered with his expression solemn, "Open the box."

Wayne's heart sank at his order. He stammered, "But... what you want to do with it?"

"What else I can do? I need to see what's inside!" With that said, Owen reached out his hand to the first aid kit box.

Wayne dodged away from his hand alarmingly. Under the pressure of Owen's threatening gaze, he smiled and explained apologetically, "There are medicine and ointment for external injuries. Even if I open the box, I don't think you can name any of them. Why not you just leave it, Sir?"

Owen insisted, "On the contrary, I know about this category of medicine better than anyone else does! You can open the box and show me. I'll name and tell you the functions of each of the medicine in there."

When he heard about it, Wayne was left with no choice but to squat down dejectedly. He then put the first aid kit box on the ground before opening it up for Owen.

Owen squatted down immediately. He ran through every medicine in the kit box meticulously as if he was inspecting drugs. He felt his heart sank in melancholy. Wayne could do nothing but to stand there and watch him inspecting the box in silence.

It did not take long for Owen to notice a syringe from a sealed medical box. Judging from the small droplet of liquid at the needle, Owen could tell that the syringe had been put into use not long before.

Without a doubt, it was Patrick who received the injection from this syringe!

Owen held the syringe in his hand and glanced at Wayne as he questioned, "Tell me now. What kind of medicine is required to be injected into a human body directly?"

Wayne was stressed out by his interrogation. He lied again, "Um.. .It was nothing special. It was just some glucose solution that was being injected."

"Are you still trying to hide it from me? Perhaps I should send it to the local hospital here and get a doctor to answer my question!" With that said, Owen stood up from the ground and was about to turn around and leave.

Wayne hurriedly went after him and said, "Captain Hopper, it's not that I don't want to tell you. It's just that Patrick won't allow me to say!"

"Go ahead and tell me! I'll be responsible if Patrick were to blame you!" At the sight of Wayne's hesitation, Owen's voice softened as he muttered, "Don't you forget that he is the only brother of mine! Do you think that I wish to see something bad happening on him?"

Owen's words made sense to Wayne after all. Hence, he decided to tell him the truth, "This was an enhanced painkiller. During the journey when Patrick departed from Northville to Italy, I was asked to inject this painkiller for him whenever he felt pain. The medicine was able to ease his pain in the shortest period of time. It would then allow him to move around without feeling pain."

"Hmph! I know for a fact that it does nothing good to his health!" thought Owen.

The fact that Owen and Amelia had breakfast together in the same room did not bother him much this time. After all, he understood that Amelia probably needed companion from someone that she knew of after being rescued.

Amelia nodded as she agreed, "Yeah, I'm fine with accompanying you. But, it was Owen who got me this food trolley. I myself have no idea where can we head for breakfast. Do you have any suggestions?"

"It's okay. I have my ways."

They came to a mutual agreement, Patrick held Amelia's hand and headed to the door. As soon as he opened the door, all they could see was Owen standing right at the door with his darkened expression. He said, "Patrick, you can't go out now!"

A single sentence from Owen successfully ruined Patrick's mood all in a sudden. Patrick hushed, "Why can't I?"

"You know very well the reason why!" With that said, Owen threw a glance at Amelia.

Upon meeting with Owen's gaze, Amelia greeted politely, "Owen, you're here."

Owen took the chance and said, "Amelia, can I have a word with Patrick? Do you mind...Um..."

Amelia immediately got his message. She hurriedly said, "Oh! I think I need to go inside and grab a

glass of water. Take your time."

As soon as she left, Owen said meaningfully, "Have a look at Amelia. She's always understanding and thoughtful. Never once I needed to worry for her.

As for you... hmph!"

Patrick frowned and cut him short, "Owen, what are you trying to say?" There was no doubt that Patrick was still holding grudge against Owen on the fact that Owen had been stopping him from coming to Florence.

Owen's gaze fell onto his waist before he said faintly, "Nothing. I just drop by to check on you. Are you sure that you have completely recovered in just a couple of days time?"
