Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1346

Patrick replied at ease, "Can't you see that my waist is just fine? Why not you get me a hula hoop and I'll dance in front of you?"

In face of Patrick's stubbornness, Owen could not help feeling triggered, "Fine then! I'll get a hula hoop for you right away!"

With that said, Owen signaled the nearest security guard from the corner of his eyes.

The security guard replied gloomily, "Captain Hopper, we have not been leaving the club since the day when we first stationed here. How on earth are we supposed to know where to get a hula hoop? Besides, as soon as we leave, who's going to be here to ensure Ms. Amelia's safety?"

Owen could not help stunning. It was only then he realized that Patrick had almost successfully tricked him and his men into leaving!

At the sight of his intention being exposed, Patrick decided not to beat around the bush, "Owen, it's late. I need to bring my wife out for a meal. Can you leave both of us alone?"

As soon ash he heard Patrick's words, Owen was overwhelmed by anger. He snapped, "Didn't I make it clear enough to you? You're not allowed to go out!"

Patrick grumbled, "Why? We are not your prisoners."

Owen corrected him, "Let me correct myself.

Amelia is free to go. As for you, you're not allowed to."

Patrick narrowed his eyes as he asked, "Owen, are you trying to imprison me the same way you did back in Northville?"

Owen affirmed his theory, "What if I say yes? I won't let you come out from the room unless you have completely recovered."

Patrick replied grumpily, "I told you that I'm fine.

Can't you see that I have no problem with standing right in front of you?"

Owen exposed him mercilessly, "You seemed fine only because you injected yourself with enhanced painkiller. The truth is, your injury is getting worse."

Patrick's expression darkened upon hearing this. After all, the only person to be blamed for leaking his secret to Owen was Wayne.

Owen more or less knew what Patrick was thinking at this moment. He hurriedly explained, "Don't you put a blame on Wayne. I happened to run into him at the corridor earlier. I insisted in checking his first aid kit box. That was when he had no other choice but to come out with the truth."

Patrick cursed secretly, "F*ck! I should have at least kept the syringe to myself before chasing Wayne out from the room!"

Owen knew Patrick at his very best, and he hushed, "It's useless to cry over the spilt milk. Instead of dwelling in your regret of letting me know, I'd rather you to think of a way to solve your core problem. I know that you care about your woman. But, at the same time, you can't put your health and safety at stake."

Patrick did not retort to his words this time. His grip on the door frame tightened unnoticeably.

In face of his silence, Owen took the chance and continued, "Look, you were swamped earlier because you were looking for Amelia. Now that you have successfully found her and that she is just fine by your side, what else do you need to be worried of?"

Patrick pursed his lips as he listened to Owen's speech.

Owen persuaded him, "Listen to me, Patrick. Just stay and rest in her room until you're fully recovered. If you need anything, I can always get my men to deliver it to your doorstep. Isn't it a

good idea that you can spend time with her alone in there?"

"Owen, you've been talking all this while. Can I say something?" Patrick sounded much better when he finally said, "I don't like to have people watching me."

"The reason that I have my men watching you is because you'll never listen to me!"

Owen merely murmured to himself at the bottom of his heart. He looked up at Patrick and explained smilingly, "My men are not here to watch the both of you. They are here to protect your safety."

Patrick insisted, "I don't need any of them. I can protect her myself."

"Nonsense! You can't even protect yourself now!" Owen felt like screaming that to him on top of his lungs.

Despite his thoughts, Owen said, "Fine! I can evacuate these guards to elsewhere provided you promise me that you're not going to leave this room as you wish. What do you say?"

Owen thought that no one could harm his brother and sister-in-law. After all, all he needed to do was to ensure that the club was fully locked down.

It was only when Owen expressed his willingness to evacuate his men that Patrick began to put on a smile on his face. He said, "Owen, I'll listen to your arrangement."

Owen could not help but stumble over his words, "What's wrong with him?! That's not my intention to evacuate my men at the first place! How can he make it sound as if it was my arrangement after all?"

He knew the scheming nature of his own brother. Owen could not help feeling tired to entertain him at this point in time.

"In that case..." Patrick glanced at both side of the corridor before he asked Owen casually, "Can they go now?"

"Give an inch and he'll take a yard!"

Owen's heart grumbled. He had no other choice but to order his men to leave right away.

Two rows of armed security guards gave two brothers a salute before marching away in orderly manner.

Owen turned around and glanced at Patrick. Overwhelmed with frustration, he asked, "Are you happy now?"

"I've told you. I'll listen to your arrangement."

At the sight of Patrick evading his responsibility altogether, Owen was getting so mad that he thought of calling his men back on duty.

Before Owen indeed burst out in anger, Patrick hurriedly said, "Owen, thank you for granting my request."

Owen first showed off the strong affection and bond he shared with Nora proudly. He then said, "I admit that we do argue sometimes. All couples fight. All I need to do is to admit that I'm at fault and apologize to her. Usually she will forgive me after I get her on a romantic date or surprise. It's not that hard after all, for our case.

As for your case, I don't think you will get an easy pass honestly. Just in case you have no idea what happened to her still, I think it'd be better for you to know now. Yesterday she was drugged with aphrodisiac by someone from the club here. I'm sure that you had come across with the bruises on her arms as well as the injury on the back of her hand. She did all those to herself in an attempt to suppress the effect of the drug from crushing her sanity. That's why I will say that you must vest in extra effort if you wish to have her lowered down her guard and accepted you again."

Patrick furrowed fumingly at Owen's words. Meanwhile, he could not help feeling sorry for what she had gone through.

"I can't imagine what kind of humiliation that Amelia was being put through!

How on earth would anyone torture and harm herself in this way? She must have been dwelling in a great deal of agony at that time!"

Having the thought of this, he was determined to know who was the culprit behind all her suffering, "Owen, tell me who's the one who drugged her." Owen's expression became solemn upon speaking of this, "What I know is that there's this foreign lady named Monica. A couple of witnesses identified her as one of the butlers in the club. She was the person in charge of handling auction items." "Auction items?" Patrick's voice could not be any colder as he hissed, "Does that mean my wife is one of those items?"

At the sight of Patrick's darkening expression, Owen knew very well that the lady named Monica was going to face her music. The truth was even if Patrick were to decide not to take any actions against Monica, he himself would never forgive her for what she had done to his sister-in-law!

"What are you going to do to her?"

"Feed her with the same drug three times a day. Meanwhile, making sure that she won't be getting any men!"

"That's a brutal torture!

But that b*tch deserves that!"

With that thought in mind, an insidious smile crept onto the corner of Owen's lips. He said, "I'll order my men to get it done now."

Upon returning to the room, all he could see was Amelia sitting on the edge of the bed while dangling her legs. As soon as she saw him coming in, she got down from the bed and asked, "Is Owen done talking to you?"

The conversation between two brothers lasted for some time that she dozed off several times in between.

"Yeah." Patrick immediately walked over to her. In fear that she might overthink it, he brought up himself, "Do you want to know what had we been talking about?"

Shaking her head, Amelia replied, "No, I don't want to."

Patrick touched her nose as he asked confusingly, "Why don't you want to know?"

Amelia replied understanding^, "That's because I know for a fact that it must be something which Owen does not wish for me to know. That was why he hinted me to leave both of you alone. In that case, it'd be better for me not to ask or know about it."

Patrick burst out laughing at the sight of her earnest expression. He could not help but lower his head to kiss her lips, "It turns out that Mrs. Hopper is much more understanding than I do."

"Of course!" With that said, she raised her chin proudly.

In the next second, Patrick grabbed her chin unexpectedly. He brought his face close to hers, he said smilingly, "Ha! I didn't mention who was Mrs. Hopper just now. How do you know that I must be referring it to you? Unless you're pretty confident that you're Mrs. Hopper."
