Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1362

When Patrick saw how Amelia agree to the physical examination without hesitation, he immediately became confused. Did... he really guess it wrongly?

The sadness, disappointment, and reluctance in Patrick's eyes had made Amelia gotten into a bad mood as well.

She regretted to have mentioned about the child on the memo. Regardless of whether Patrick believed what she had said just now, suspicion had been planted in his heart.

If they continued their conversation, it would only be a dead end.

So, Patrick turned around and posted Amelia's memo to where his was. When he saw her words saying [May Patrick be safe], he suddenly felt warmth in his heart.

Then, he glanced at the following sentence. After looking at it deeply for a while, he reached out to hold Amelia's shoulder and said with a bright smile, "Mrs. Hopper, let's continue with our journey."

"Ah, okay." Amelia was not as excited as she had been at the start.

After arriving at the nearby bus stop and getting on the bus, Amelia had been in a daze. Patrick observed her expression and smiled without saying anything.

After quite a while, the bus slowly stopped while the crowd got up and down the bus in a calm order.

Patrick approached the dazed lady beside him and reminded her in a gentle voice, "Mrs. Hopper, we shall get off now."

Amelia looked over following his voice and saw Patrick's smiling eyes that seemed to have made her heart tremble. She shivered and said, "Oh! I know, you don't have to remind me."

Her words sounded like she was trying to cover up something.

Patrick smiled and held her hand while he stood up. He covered her belly with his other hand, seeming casual. Then, he helped her to get through the crowd as they got off the bus.

As soon as Amelia got off the bus, she could not help but removed his hand away. She appeared to be a bit embarrassed and unknowingly anxious.

Patrick looked back at her and asked, "What's ?ll w

Amelia was annoyed and asked, "Why did you

protect my belly with your hand?"

Patrick smiled and answered her in a good mood, "Because it's the softest part of the body. Is there any problem that I protected it?"

"But, you've never did it before!" He had always used to hold her shoulder or waist.

"That's because I haven't noticed its importance until now."

"After all, you simply don't believe what I just said, right? Fine! We shouldn't go anywhere else. Let's just go to the hospital now to check if I am pregnant!"

"Okay!" Patrick's eyes lit up upon hearing Amelia's 'proposal' and he agreed right away.

"Hmph. Since you don't trust me anyway, then I'll just..." As Amelia spoke, she was suddenly stuck while her face was filled with embarrassment and annoyance.

Did she just trick herself?

Did she just fall into the trap she had made herself?

Amelia had strongly felt that way.

Patrick looked at her face that was full with complex emotions and laughed in his heart. He pretended to be serious when he asked, "What's wrong, Mrs. Hopper? Why do you look so bad? Are you reluctant to part with the beautiful scenery around or do you have any unspeakable reason?"

Amelia stomped her feet. "Nonsense! Why should I be guilty? I just don't know where to find a hospital in this city!"

Patrick raised his hand and pointed, "Isn't there one behind you?"

Amelia looked back and found that there really was!

She was meant to be defeated!

Amelia wailed in her heart. She had acted boldly just to scare him off, but she did not expect Patrick to turn the tables on her and disrupt her entire plan!

Amelia was already anxious and nervous, yet Patrick was still urging her on purpose. "Mrs. Hopper, let's not waste any time and go right away."

"No, no, no... Patrick, wait a moment!" Patrick had dragged Amelia along the way. She tried to stop him with her other hand, but her effort was in vain. She could only see the hospital getting nearer and nearer...

"Oh my!" Amelia suddenly cried out before it was too late.

Patrick stopped and looked back at her with

concern.

As Amelia met his questioning eyes, Amelia forced a dry smile. "My... my stomach suddenly hurts..."

Patrick said seriously, "Then the more you have to visit the hospital! Come on, I'll carry you!"

Amelia took a step back quickly to avoid his hand. She faltered and said, "Never mind. It's not the kind of pain that I should visit the hospital..."

"Then what kind of pain is that?" Patrick seemed to have no doubt over her words.

Amelia gritted her teeth and whispered, "It's the kind of pain that needs to be solved in the toilet."

Patrick answered with an 'oh' and said with an understanding tone, "Then fine. Since there are washrooms in the hospital, we may visit the doctor after you are done."

Amelia was speechless.

Patrick ignored the corners of Amelia's mouth that was twitching continuously, he then asked in a pure and kind tone, "Mrs. Hopper? What do you think?"

"This is for you." Patrick's caring voice came from above Amelia's head.

Amelia stopped struggling with the noodles and looked up at him to see that he was holding a small-sized tong.

"Oh?"

"This is for you. I see that you're having a hard time eating."

Amelia's expression became a little complicated.

She had not been in the mood to eat because she was worrying about the matter concerning her pregnancy. It had nothing to do with her using the fork.

Since she could not share

with Patrick about such thought, she could only take the chopsticks from his hand and thanked him softly.

While Amelia was eating the spaghetti with the help of chopsticks, a group of aunts sitting at the table next to them gossiped, "Does she really not know how to have Western food properly? It's really embarrassing!"

"Yeah, such ignorant travellers would only embarrass their mother country when they go abroad."

"I pity the handsome man next to her. He looks extraordinary with decent behaviour, but she has pulled him down unconsciously."

Amelia did not want to get into trouble, but the aunties were really annoying as they had gossiped about her without a pause!

"Hello Aunties." She put down the tong and said with a faint displeasure, "Please be reasonable. Why would using a chopstick destroy my image? Don't you use other supplementary utensils at home?"

Upon seeing that Amelia dared to talk back, the aunties did not hold in as well as they thought they were superior in age and the number of persons. "Hey young lady, I think you're the one being unreasonable now. Of course we could be comfortable when at home, but since we are outside, we have to be careful on how we act, to be polite and exquisite, instead of being rude and casual!"

"That's right!"

"Young girl, don't you know how to act according to the situation?"

The group of aunts answered one after another.

Amelia was speechless.

Coldness flashed across Patrick's eyes when he listened to them continuously nagging at Amelia.

He called the waiter over again and whispered in his ear. The waiter then showed a look as if seeing him as a lunatic.

But, when Patrick took out a golden-rimmed black card from the inner pocket of his suit, the waiter's eyes changed immediately as if Patrick had become a saviour instead. Thus, he promised to carry out his order as soon as possible.

After a while, several waiters filed out of the kitchen. They looked apologetic while taking away all the cutleries from the table the aunties were sitting at and left only chopsticks on the table which made them stunned in confusion.
