Patrick caught the hesitation on her face and got more serious with his words, "You suggested that we write a note together while you've known that I'd never do such things. I've finally been convinced by you yet you want to separate our notes, not to mention you have refused to share your wish with me. Since you've also looked down on my calligraphy being ugly and conspicuous, I might as well throw it away..."
Then, he acted as if he was about to crumple the memo in his hand.
"Don't!" Amelia hurriedly stopped him with her hand, while her face was full of guilt.
Patrick was actually reluctant to throw the memo away. As he had really wished for the words written on it to come true, of course he would not really get rid of it. He had said so just to scare Amelia.
After being easily stopped by her hand, Patrick pretended to be angry and said, "Why are you still stopping me? Go and stick your own memo!"
Amelia's delicate eyes were full of guilt. "Patrick, I'm sorry, it's my fault. I shouldn't have let you down, but the notes I've written on this memo of mine..."
Patrick interrupted her softly, "I have just one question, was I included in your note?"
Amelia answered without hesitation, "Yes!"
"Then that's enough." Patrick no longer appeared to be minding the business.
He first stuck the memo in his hand to the highest point on the wall, then lowered his head and said to her, "Cover my eyes with your hands while I help you stick your memo, would that be okay?"
Amelia could not bear to refuse him again. "Let's make it clear first. You are not allowed to peek."
A wicked smile appeared on Patrick's face. "Don't I wont."
So, Amelia stood on tiptoe and covered his naturally sharp eyes with one hand before putting her memo into his huge palm.
"I'm done, you may stick it on." Amelia said.
She had not known that her little hand could hardly block Patrick's sight completely. Shimmer light shone into his pupils through the gap of her fingers, and he could more or less see the scene outside.
When Patrick raised his hand, he glanced at the content on her memo in a very natural way, thinking that Amelia had allowed her to see it.
[May Patrick be safe and may the child be safe.]
Patrick's pupils greatly constricted when he saw her beautiful words. He felt dizzy as if his head had been smashed and he could not come back to his senses for a long time!
When Patrick's hand stopped in the air, Amelia suddenly had a bad feeling.
She first thought about something quickly in her mind, and then took the initiative to ask, "Patrick, have you seen it?"
When she heard her words, Patrick was stunned again. He immediately removed her hand from his eyes and clenched it in his palm. He looked at Amelia, who appeared to be calm, with ecstasy.
From their crossed hands, Amelia could feel that he was very excited, as he could not help pinching her which made her in pain. But, she was not in the urge to ask him to free her, instead, she asked puzzledly, "You look strange, what's wrong?"
Patrick could not help but trembled when he asked, "You're pregnant, aren't you?"
Once he thought that she was pregnant with his child and they had a closer connection, Patrick was overexcited that he wanted to shout out loud!
Amelia looked at him in amusement. "Is it really hard to understand? I'm referring to Jessica's child, Sierra."
"Oh?" Patrick appeared to be completely unconvinced.
Amelia pretended to be relaxed while saying, "Haven't you investigated their condition? You should know that Sierra had a heart surgery not long ago and is still in recovery state. I think that Jessica is having a hard time being a single mom, while the child she adopted has a hard life as well, so I wish that the child can be safe and sound as it will also save Jessica some financial expenses."
Patrick asked soberly, "If that's the case, why did you act secretive to hide it from me?"
Amelia replied very calmly, "Because you and Jessica have never been on good terms. If I put Jessica's child at the same position as you, you would surely be angry with me again. So I've suddenly thought of hiding it from you, just to avoid any unpleasant happenings in our following journey."
It sounded very reasonable!
But, Patrick just could not believe that the truth was as simple as how she had said so!
He suddenly sounded somewhat evil. "Mrs. Hopper, do you dare to confirm that you're not pregnant?"
"As a woman, I know best whether I am pregnant or not. I've even had myt menstruation half a month ago."
"Then, Mrs. Hopper, would you dare to accept a physical examination?"
Amelia's heart was beating fast, but she was very clear that if she refused him at the sensitive moment, Patrick would have thought more firmly that she was pregnant. So she smiled and said, "Why not?"
