Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1378

Amelia was not allowed to drink both wine and tea.

Owen chuckled deep down at how desperate and frustrated Amelia looked while he preached in a serious face.

Owen then calmed himself down and persuaded, "Ahem. Amelia, we're a family. We don't have many rules. I think Patrick is only doing that for your own good. You can make a toast with the soup instead."

There was no point for Amelia to keep arguing with Patrick since Owen had brought up another option for her. So, she nodded obediently and replied softly, "Okay, I'll listen to you, Owen."

'I'll listen to you, Owen.' Amelia words echoed in Patrick's mind.

As a result, Patrick glared at her unhappily. He had tried so hard to convince her, but she did not listen to him at all. However, she listened to Owen's advice without question. She was playing favourites!

However, Patrick did not dare to vent his anger at this moment. It would be humiliating for him to piss Amelia off in front of Owen.

So, Patrick got up and took the bowl from Amelia. He took the initiative to say to her, "I'll get the soup for you. Sit down."

"Mm?" Amelia was puzzled, but still she handed him the bowl and sat back down.

Owen also picked up his empty bowl, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Patrick, I want soup too. Can you get me some?"

Patrick held back the strong urge to tell Owen to get lost, then ignored Owen's smirk and replied unwillingly, "Sure."

"That's right. Brothers should be nice to each other!" Amelia praised Patrick in her heart.

What? Patrick had actually agreed!

Owen could not believe his ears.

Patrick had done so because Amelia would get Owen the bowl of soup if Patrick rejected him, which Patrick did not want to happen. So, Patrick would rather do it himself.

While Patrick served them soup, Owen said thankfully to Amelia, "Amelia, Patrick has become gentler and more thoughtful under your nurturing."

Ever since Patrick secretly told Owen that he had proposed to Amelia again, Owen started to address her by her name instead of 'Ms. Ramsay'.

Amelia seemed to be fine with it.

"Owen, your compliment to Patrick is kind of inappropriate for him,” said Amelia as she held back her laughter.

Owen nodded with a serious expression. "You’re right. Maybe I should say that he's obedient to his wife,” corrected Owen.

Patrick's hand trembled slightly while serving the soup, and his face gloomed completely.

Amelia could not help but snigger when she noticed Patrick's darkened demeanour.

"Owen, here's your soup." Patrick handed the bowl to Owen ominously.

When Owen was about to take the bowl from Patrick, Patrick deliberately shook his hand slightly where the soup spilt a little on the back of Owen’s hand.

Owen survived from hails of bullets! So, the minor pain was trivial for him.

However, Owen had the thought to make fun of Patrick then.

Since Patrick tried to scald him with the soup, then Owen would play along and see who would be in more trouble later.

Hiss!

But, Amelia agreed with Patrick. "Owen, Patrick's right this time. You always overstrain yourself. You wouldn't have been in so much pain just now if it doesn't hurt you that much. You'd better go and apply medication now. I'll be here waiting for you two here."

Owen was speechless.

Patrick curled his lips into a slight smirk, then he stretched to hold Owen's shoulder. Patrick grinned and said, "Let's go, Owen."

As soon as the door was shut, Patrick immediately turned and punched Owen in the stomach.

It hurt Owen so much that he grunted from the pain. He leaned against the wall and coughed, "Come on! You can't be serious!"

"What do you expect?" Patrick challenged him icily. "Why were you defaming me and trying to make me lose my cool in front of Amelia? What do you want?"

Owen straightened after he gained his breathing. Then he said, "Nope. I was just testing your patience and temper."

"A test?" Patrick was puzzled.

"Yes. I just want to know if you’re still as arrogant and bad-tempered as before. But, it seems that you’ve changed a lot. You've learned how to care for and tolerate others. Just now, when Amelia gave you orders, you obeyed without humiliating her. You've grown up, Patrick." Owen patted Patrick’ s shoulder and explained.

Patrick was speechless. Owen then smiled and said, "Even you didn't realize that you've changed so much for Amelia, right?"

Patrick heaved a sigh and admitted, "That's true."

Owen raised his eyebrows and exclaimed with excitement, "Then hurry up and thank me! You

would have never realized your changes without my guidance!"

Patrick sneered, "Owen, don't act like I don't know what you did. You jeered at me every time Amelia criticized me. But, for the sake of your gracious deed, I'll forgive you this time. There's no next time!"
