Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1379

Owen smiled upon hearing Patrick and said, "I didn't mean to make fun of you. It's just that you're so different when you're in public and when in front of Amelia. You look silly and wimpy."

Silly and wimpy?

That did not make sense with Patrick at all.

So, Patrick asked incredulously, "Are you serious?"

Owen could not help but smirk at Patrick's puzzled look and replied, "It's true!"

Patrick then asked with frustration, "But, why don't I feel the same way about this?"

Owen found Patrick hilarious in confusion, so he said, “That’s because you love Amelia so much that you think all the forbearance and dedication are what you should do. Do you get what I mean now?”

"I get you. But, I don’t care even if my dedication looks silly and wimpy to others. I just want to cherish Amelia," answered Patrick.

Patrick and Owen then went back to the dining room and found Amelia sitting in a daze at her

seat.

She snapped back to reality when she heard footsteps from behind her. After that, she put on a smile and asked, “Patrick, have you applied medication on Owen’s hands?”

"Yes," replied Patrick somewhat uneasily.

Owen then rubbed his stomach. He nearly got an internal injury after Patrick's punch.

"Then come on and eat,” urged Amelia. "The food is getting cold," continued Amelia with an upset look.

"All right," agreed both Patrick and Owen.

Both of them behaved well for the rest of the lunch.

Amelia also took the opportunity to make a toast to Patrick and Owen with her bowl of soup.

Owen's phone rang after the meal. It was a call from Nora. She told him that the children missed him a lot as they had not seen him for a few days. Andrew and Ashley wanted to have a video call with him.

Amelia immediately grabbed Patrick’s hand and retreated to the side to avoid being captured on the camera. If they were caught in the frame, they would have to explain everything after they returned to Northville.

Owen could not wait to accept the video call after he made sure that everything was set.

"Dad!"

"Daddy!"

Owen's eyes filled with affection when he heard the tender voices of his children. Words could not describe how joyful Owen felt at the moment.

"Did the both of you listen to Mommy when I'm not around?"

"Yes!" Andrew answered confidently.

"Um... Me too." There was a sense of guilt in Ashley's tone.

So, Owen brought her to account as asked," Ashley, did you secretly sign Mommy's name on your failed test paper? Then, your teacher caught you and called to inform Mommy?"

Ashley was shocked and blurted, "Daddy, how did you know that?"

"In my dream, a handsome guy stood beside Aunt Amelia, and Aunt Amelia was touching her round belly. She then told me that she had a baby with that handsome guy. I got so anxious that I asked her, 'What about Patrick?'. Then, she asked me who Patrick was..." explained Ashley.

"Ahem!" Owen hastily coughed when he spotted Patrick's gloomy expression and Amelia's awkward look.

Ashley paused for a moment and asked, "Daddy, are you all right?"

Owen immediately replied when he successfully gained Ashley’s attention, "I'm fine. I accidentally choked on my saliva. Ashley, Andrew, I'll be back after I finish my job. Let’s go for a trip after that, okay?"

"Okay!" Both Andrew and Ashley agreed then began to discuss where to go for their trip, which relieved the awkwardness from a moment ago.

On the other hand.

A handsome guy...'

Patrick wanted to ask Ashley what the guy looked like, but he had to conceal his presence. After all, it was just a dream. It could not be real.

But, he felt so depressed when he imagined Amelia pregnant with another man's baby. His heart wrenched, and he did not even realize that he was gripping Amelia's hand too tightly.

Patrick only came to his senses about what he had done after a pause. He immediately loosened his grip on her hand and asked nervously, "Are you okay?"

Amelia moved her somewhat numb fingers and assured gently, "I'm fine. I'm more worried about you."

"I..." Patrick massaged his frown in discomfort.

Amelia then placed her hand on his arm and said softly, "It's just a child's dream. Maybe she just couldn't accept that you didn't try to get me back. Her dream was only a reflection of her waking thoughts."
