Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1396

Connor was being threatened into working for Eve ever since the car accident took place. At this moment, he was reporting to Eve regarding the latest update of the subject that he was required to stalk.

The subject himself was Eve's youngest son, Patrick.

Eve had been looking for Patrick anxiously when she knew the fact that Patrick had disappeared from the hospital a few days back. Unfortunately, her attempt to look for his son was to no avail.

It was then when Eve was dead worried as she had not heard from Patrick since then. That was why she instructed Connor to standby on Land of Fragrance and report to her right away as soon as Patrick came back home!

Finally, there was news of Patrick after a couple of days of effort!

In face of Eve's fury, Connor hurriedly explained for himself, "Madam, I'm sorry. You were feeling under the weather yesterday. That was why I dared not to come forward and disturb your rest."

As soon as his voice fell, Eve slammed the table as she stood up outrageously. Pointing a finger at Connor, Eve began scolding, "Connor, don't you get this? I'm not feeling well all this while because my youngest son has been missing! You should have reported any news of him right away to me!"

Connor immediately apologized humbly, "It's my fault, Madam. I promise you that I'll let you know anything regarding Mr. Patrick as soon as possible next time."

"Next time?" Eve's gaze turned colder as she sneered, "Are you cursing my son now? Do you wish for the same tragedy to happen to him all over again? Connor, I never know that you're such a cruel person!"

When Connor heard Eve's rage, Connor was getting more terrified at the woman in front of him. He hurriedly apologized again, "Madam, please forgive me! I'm just a servant who is bad at talking! I'm sorry for my miswords!"

Eve eyed him insidiously. When she had finally done venting her anger and frustration, it was then she said, "Go and get yourself ready. I want to go and see my son now!"

"Now?!" Connor was shocked.

Eve shot him with a side glance as she asked him back, "Why? Is there any problems with me seeing my son now?

Connor stammered, "Madam, I went to Land of Fragrance again this morning. Um... It was then I realized that Mr. Patrick was out again."

Eve furrowed her brows as she asked, "He's supposed to rest at home for his recovery. Where else could he have gone?"

"Um... I have no idea. I was scared to be exposed. That was why I dared not to stalk him further."

The truth was Connor had been holding back the piece of information regarding the fact that Amelia too was on Land of Fragrance with Patrick. Eve was going to jump over her feet in anger if she were to know about this.

However, even if Connor chose not to tell Eve, that did not prevent her from thinking of such possibility herself. She thought for a while before she exclaimed, "Most probably he was out to meet Amelia again! I know that b*tch well! She just can't keep herself out of his sight!"

Connor cried out secretly, "Holy sh*t! She got it right!"

"Forget it, send me to Land of Fragrance now. He can't be out with that b*tch all the time without coming back home!" With that said, Eve was determined to wait until Patrick came back home.

"Yes, Madam." Connor could only pray hard that Patrick was alone when he came back home.

Eve was fully dressed up when she came downstairs. At the sight of this, Florence who had just returned from a holiday immediately jumped up from the couch. She could not help asking in excitement, "Mom, are you going out for shopping?"

At the sight of Florence coming forward, she replied softly, "I'm going to pay your brother a visit at Land of Fragrance."

Florence's eyes immediately sparkled with light as soon as she heard about it. She offered to come along, "It has been some time since I last saw Patrick. Mom, why don't I come with you?"

Florence had been caught up in her job some time ago. Upon her return, it was only then she learnt than Patrick and Amelia had already entered a divorce. It was by then too late for her to change their mind.

Eventually, Florence contacted Amelia several times afterwards in an attempt to ask her out. However, Amelia would turn her invitation down every single time. Therefore, the only person she could vent her frustration to was Patrick!

Alice continued to ask, "Did his mother bully you?

"There's no such thing." Amelia attempted to evade her questions. Hence, before Alice would throw at her with further questions, she hurriedly said, "Aunt Alice, I miss you and Dad so much! It has been some time since I last saw you!"

"Aww, I miss you too, Amelia! If Eve wasn't there, I would have dropped by Land of Fragrance and paid a visit to you and Patrick myself!"

The truth was Patrick lied to Alice by telling her that Eve was there with them on Land of Fragrance. The lie was supposed to stop Alice from coming to visit them. After all, he did not want to let her know that Amelia had been abducted at that time.

Amelia asked, "By the way, is everything good back at home when I was away?"

"I will say so. As for Brittany, she is getting more collected these days. It seems to me that she's happy over some thing which I have no idea of. " Before Amelia could ask about Brittany, Alice had already told her everything regarding Brittany on her own. However, Amelia was not surprised either.

After all, Brittany was Alice's biological daughter. It made perfect sense that she would somehow end up talking about Brittany.

But collected?

If she was getting more collected in a way that Alice described, there was no way that she would call and challenge Amelia offensively the other day.

However, Amelia knew for a fact that Brittany was good at nothing. Therefore, she chose to laugh it away without letting it bother her.

Right after, Amelia headed directly to Apex Construction Corporation after leaving from the hospital.

The employees of Apex Construction Corporation assumed that Amelia was away for a business trip. Therefore, everyone was working in an orderly manner under Jonathan's guidance.
