When Amelia showed up at the lobby of the company, none of the employees were surprised by her presence. Maybe it was because that she had just returned from a business trip and most of them who happened to come across with her resumed with their works on hand after greeting her.

Amelia was very satisfied with the unaffected working atmosphere. She headed to the elevator and came to the floor where her office located on.

As soon as the door of the elevator opened, Amelia heard the chaos coming from the same floor of her office.

"Can you stop following me?"

"Mr. Kaiden, we're under Mr. Sawyer's instruction to keep an eye on you all the time! We have already made an exception for you by letting you come here! Please think of our difficulties at least! We're merely executing Mr. Sawyer's orders!"

"Bullsh*t! You know that Amelia is away for a business trip. That's why you pretended to make an exception for me. Had Audrey not told me, I will still be fooled around by all of you!"

"Mr. Kaiden, four of us have been staying by your side all the time to ensure your safety. We have no idea that Ms. Amelia is on a business trip..."

"That's enough! Stop playing dumb in front of me! The reason that Sawyer sent you here was to stop me from seeing Amelia! Since she's away, there's no need for you to watch over me! I can't get to see her anyway! Get lost now! Go back and report to Sawyer of this!"

When Amelia overheard the conversation, she dared not to make a sound.

When the chaos were getting louder, Amelia could tell that the troop of people were approaching the elevator. Her heart was pounding fast at this moment. She could not help but press on the close button of the elevator.

Unfortunately, just as the door was closing gradually, Kaiden's furious expression had already fallen into Amelia's sight at this time.

At this moment, he was surrounded by four bulky men who were approximately six feet tall. Anyone who came across the scene would simply think that he was being ganged up by those bullies.

He looked no more than a civilian who was awaiting for someone to rescue him heroically.

Unfortunately, Amelia wished for nothing but to avoid him at all cost.

It was already too late by then. Kaiden was stunned for a second when he first saw her. In the next second, he dashed in the direction of the elevator in lightning speed. The door of the elevator was almost closing. However, he managed to stick his hands inside the narrow opening between two doors in time. It was as if he did not mind to break through the elevator barehandedly.

At the sight of this, those four body guards could not help screaming, "Mr. Kaiden!"

Amelia clearly did not expect the pair of hands that came out of nowhere. At first instance, her heart sank melancholy. When she finally came back to her senses, she slammed the open button repeatedly. At that very moment, she was terrified at the idea that Kaiden s hands were going to be cut off by the door in the next second.

Fortunately, the lift managed to function adequately in time. The doors which were about to close completely began to open gradually in a blink of an eye time. While Kaiden s hands were saved, Amelia was completely exposed in Kaiden's eyes at the same time.

Amelia was unable to think straight at this moment. She came forward and began roaring at Kaiden, "What the h*ll were you doing? Are you trying to kill yourself?!"

Had the doors of the elevator not opened in time, he was going to lose both of his hands permanently!

"You're finally back!" Kaiden stared at her pitifully as if he had been abandoned all this while. He could not wait any longer to vent to her all his feelings, "Do you have any idea how much I've been missing you these days? Hurry up. Come here and give me a hug."

Amelia swore that she would have given Kaiden a tight slap in his face had those body guards not around at this moment.

"Am I not clear enough? We're back together. This means that he's my boyfriend now."

At that moment, Kaiden cried out exasperatedly, "Are you mad? Have you forgotten everything that he had done to hurt you? Why the hell would you go back to him? That b*stard don't deserve to have you! My past record is as empty as a blank paper. Why can't you at least put me into consideration?"

Regardless of what Kaiden had to say, nothing was going to change Amelia's mind. She remained expressionless as she uttered cruelly, "Simply because we're not fit together. I have no feelings for you."

Her words were like a knife stabbing right through his heart. He could not help but roar at her, "Then why did you ride on me? Why did you turn me on and make me fall for you?

Amelia's reply could not get any more cruel as she pursed her lips, "None of us was taking it seriously at that time. I didn't know that you would develop a feeling for me since then."

A surge of stabbing pain overwhelmed Kaiden. He could not believe what he had just heard from her. He wished that he could turn a deaf ear on her words. However, the truth was he could no longer hypnotize himself into disregarding the truth.

"Does this mean that this is a karma that I deserve? I shouldn't have approached you purposefully at the first place. I shouldn't have put you in a position where Sawyer got to calculate on you. Worst thing after all, I shouldn't have caused you and your child to lose everything that you once had! That's why I'm being punished into falling in love with you when you will never love me back, is that true?!"

"Kaiden, that's enough." In face of his agitation, Amelia struggled to calm him down, "I don't hate you anymore. All you have for me is guilt. That's not love, Kaiden. Stop punishing yourself by trying to repay me with love simply because you're feeling bad for me. You're still young after all. I'm sure that you're going to find someone that you like and whom will like you back in the nearest future. You have already overcome your phobia towards women, haven't you? In that case, I should congratulate you. You have a bright future to begin with."

Kaiden scoffed at her words. He leaned over all in a sudden. Before Amelia could dodge away, he had already grabbed her shoulders. She could not read the emotion from his eyes as they were covered by his long lashes. All she could hear was him murmuring sarcastically, "Do you know what I'm thinking now? I'm even willing to be a back burner for both you and your child."

When Amelia heard Kaiden's words, her pupils dilated in shock. It was when she finally came back to her senses, Kaiden had already bypassed her.

At the sight of Kaiden entering into the elevator, the body guards immediately followed after in fear that they were going to lose track of him. The doors of the elevator finally closed shut this time.
