Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1417

Mrs. Kennedy cried and continued, "Yes, Mr. Patrick. Pablo's our only son. If something bad happens to him, we won't want to live without him!"

Patrick looked at the Kennedys and said in a casual tone, "I want to help, but the case Pablo's involved in is of great importance. My brother was only following orders to arrest him, and his superior has the final say on the case. If you want my brother to show mercy, then it means you want my brother to act out of his duty and abuse his power. If the authority finds out, won't my brother be in trouble?"

"Well..." Kinsley felt stressed and said, "We've heard that Mr. Owen is an elite amongst the police. Not to mention that he's so powerful and has so many connections that even his leaders treat him with respect. If..."

Patrick interrupted him sombrely, "What you're about to say is just all hypothetical, isn't it? Besides, when it comes to drugs, even government officials can't get away with it. The only thing I can say is that your son is unfortunate. He could have traded everywhere else but chose to do it right under my brother's nose. He bit the bait himself. I figured you might not know that my brother's targeting to capture the leaders of different drug trafficking cartels from various countries. Do you think the superiors won't take this case with importance?"

Mrs. Kennedy knew the matter at hand was serious, but she did not expect it to be this critical. She tugged on Kinsley's clothes and said, "What should we do?"

Kinsley was begging sorrowfully before the hospital bed, shivering all over and looking like a sinner kneeling in front of the emperor waiting for judgment.

Patrick was the only person he could beg for help. Owen was well-known for being irrefutable and merciless. Moreover, Owen was still in Florence. Patrick was Owen's only and most beloved brother. So, if Patrick could act with Kennedy's interests, he could save Pablo's life! If not, Pablo was doomed!

Amelia, who was watching from the side found Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy extremely pathetic. Even though Pablo did offend Patrick once, his other rioted acts were more than enough for Patrick to want to cut him up into pieces!

And yet, the Kennedys had the galls to come and beg him.

Unfortunately, the Kennedys were oblivious to what atrocity their son had committed without their knowledge!

He had kidnapped Amelia and sneaked her abroad, then even planned to auction her off to some rich bosses to make money from her sale. If the Kennedys had known about this, they would not be so dense to come to find Patrick.

After collecting his words, Kinsley raised his head and cautiously begged, "Mr. Patrick, we know that Pablo had once caused some trouble in your nightclub, but he has paid the price for it. We're also willing to compensate the damages for that woman's physical and psychological trauma. I wonder if... we can write that incident off?"

Write it off?

They still did not know the true reason why Pablo did what he did. It was because Pablo had intended to touch Patrick's woman, Amelia Ramsay, with his dirty hand!

If it were not Amelia's mercy towards Pablo's parents' pleas, would Patrick have let go of Pablo that easily?

Letting Pablo go was like releasing a wild ruckus back to their place. Patrick had already paid the price for his mercy, so how could he allow himself to make the same mistake again?

As his mind raced, Patrick said, "Since both of you are so thoughtful, as the lady's boss, I'll decide for her." "Yes, yes, yes! Just tell us the amount!" Compared to Patrick acting high and mighty and refusing their suggestions, they would rather him offer a higher price so they could have more leverage.

Under Kinsley and his wife's sighs of relief, Patrick smiled and said, "Not much. I only ask for thirty million."

Thirty million!

The Kennedys' faces suddenly turned ashen.

"Well, then why don’t you go and do that now!" Kinsley grunted in a low voice.

"Wha... what did you just say? You heartless son of a..." Mrs. Kennedy then pointed at him and scolded him exasperatedly, "How unfortunate is Pablo and I to be family with someone like you!"

Kinsley clasped his hands behind his back and paced back and forth angrily while staring at his wife, he replied, "You're reluctant about me paying up. But if I don't, you say I don't have a conscience. What do you want me to do?"

"I... I don't know!" Mrs. Kennedy clutched her chest and screamed as if she was breaking down, "I just want to save Pablo... my Pablo...I miss him so much!"

"Enough! Enough! Enough!" The wailing irritated Kinsley, making him wish he was dead. "We'll pay the thirty million!"

"What did you say?" Mrs. Kennedy's eyes widened with tears. Looking incredulous, she asked, "You want to pay thirty million to compensate a barmaid? You must have lost your mind!"

"Keep your voice down!" snapped Kinsley. "Everyone claims that Patrick is extremely protective of his people. In your eyes, that girl may only be a barmaid who doesn't care for herself. But to him, she's his employee. She's one of Patrick's people!"

"Back when Pablo hurt the woman, we immediately made him apologize, but he was ignorant to that woman's injury the whole time. I think that's why Patrick has offered such an exorbitant price!"

"I think this is an essential move. If we accept the amount for the compensation, Pablo's situation will most likely be reversed. But if we refuse, we'll become Patrick's nemesis. Then, no one can help our son!"
