"I can't believe we're finally sharing the same opinion for the first time." Sissi smiled and asked, "I heard that Ms. Amelia has business dealings with Sawyer. How did you know each other?"
Amelia glanced at Sawyer. "Didn't Mr. Quartley tell you about it?"
Sissi shrugged, then pouted with shyness and resentment, "No. He told me that you're here to play with Abner. If I hadn’t overheard the collaboration project you just mentioned, I would've been kept in the dark."
Amelia knew that Sissi was unhappy over her contact with Sawyer, so she said, "I do have a certain collaborative relation with Mr.
Quartley, but it can end any time he asks to. When that happens, I won't appear in front of you ever again..."
Sawyer interrupted with a stiffened expression, "Ms. Amelia, can't you see that Abner is still here?"
Sawyer could roughly guess what Amelia was saying to Abner. It had to be something of a farewell.
Sometimes, he hated Amelia's frankness as it was almost to the point of ruthless.
Abner was so clingy to her to the extent that even Sawyer, as Abner's father, was oddly surprised. However, Amelia was to leave on her own without caring about innocent Abner's feelings.
Amelia glanced at Abner and said apologetically, "It's my fault to have ignored his feelings, but it's still better than leaving without saying goodbye."
Sissi looked around and finally fixed her gaze on Amelia. "Ms. Amelia, forgive me as I may sound rude. Are you determined to terminate your collaboration with Sawyer?"
Amelia nodded. "Yes."
Sissi then asked, "Have you signed the contract?"
Amelia answered, "Yes."
Sissi asked again, "Since you've signed it, why are you still terminating the collaboration?"
"What do you mean by 'why'?" Amelia felt that Sissi had already known the answer.
"Ms. Amelia, you must have taken the initiative to start the collaboration with Sawyer, right?" Otherwise, Amelia would not have had to come in person to apologize.
"That's right," Amelia replied frankly.
Sissi pretended to be puzzled and continued, "So, Sawyer helped you when you're in need. Yet, now you want to terminate the collaboration. Aren't you tearing down the bridge?" "Don't you want me to terminate my collaboration with Mr. Sawyer? If I don't do so, I'll inevitably come in contact with him again. Do you want to see that?" Compared with Sissi beating around the bush, Amelia was extremely straightforward.
Sissi paused for a moment before she said with her face darkened slightly, "I believe that Sawyer won't let me down!"
"You haven't answered my question yet. If I continue to collaborate with Mr. Quartley, are you sure you can stand it?" Amelia easily passed the question back to Sissi again.
Sissi fell into a dilemma in an instant. If Sissi said she could not stand it, she would be giving herself a slap.
But if Sissi said that she could accept it, would she not be the one at great loss if Amelia was to seize the opportunity to continue working with Sawyer?
After the meal, Amelia once again saw for herself Sawyer's attentive side.
He had cleaned up the leftovers on the table by himself. Sissi wanted to help, but he stopped her gently and told her that he did not want her to be stained with grease and hurt her skin.
To be honest, Amelia felt that Sissi had a blissful life. Both Patrick and Sawyer had given Sissi almost their everything.
If it was Patrick, she would feel jealous to a crazy extent. But it was Sawyer, so she only sigh a little.
Abner did not eat much before he went upstairs. Amelia could tell that he was throwing a tantrum, but she did not stop him. Sissi was right when she said that Abner was still young, and when he grew up, he would forget how unhappy he felt at this moment. Also, he would forget her.
Right then, Sissi came near Amelia while swirling a glass of red wine. "Ms. Amelia, what do you think of Sawyer, when compared to Patrick?"
Amelia frowned and gave her a side-eye. "Why would you compare them to each other?" Was Sissi trying to choose between them?
Meanwhile, Wayne, in another villa, heard Sissi and fumed, "What? Both of them are outstanding, both of whom you don't deserve!"
Richard glanced at Wayne, "Are you comparing Sawyer with Bro Richard?"
"No, no, no!" Wayne's expression immediately faltered as he pleaded for mercy, "Sawyer is a b*stard, and is simply inferior to Bro Patrick! Please don't tell Bro Patrick what I said, or I'll be a dead meat!" "Why not? Both of them are equally outstanding and infatuated, they both are willing to risk their lives for me."
Sissi thought what she said would insult Amelia. However, Amelia did not take her seriously at all.
