Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1529

At the sight of this, Amelia sighed before she asked, "Mr. Hopper, since when you're here?"

Patrick grunted secretly, "Sure enough it's because of this perverted dog that Amy didn't even notice when I've come!"

Having that in mind, Patrick could not help glaring at Rick viciously. Hiding its tail between its back limbs restlessly, Rick began howling at Amelia pitifully.

Noticing Patrick's darkened expression, Amelia thought that it would be best not to trigger him more. Hence, instead of reaching out to Rick, she reminded him, "Mr. Hopper, it seems like Rick isn't feeling comfortable."

"That's because it has eaten too much. It'll probably take it some time for the food to digest." Patrick even reached out his hand to poke Rick's abdomen as he said. He began teasing Rick, "Look!

I bet it's overweight!"

"Woof! Woof!" Seemingly understood Patrick's mockery, Rick began barking in protest.

"Mm?" As soon as Patrick shot him with a threatening stare, Rick immediately stopped barking.

Amelia took the chance and said, "Um... There is only half an hour left to the time Jessica and I had agreed to meet. Mr. Hopper, I guess it's time to leave."

It was only then Patrick withdrew his gaze from Rick. He flashed a smile at Amelia as he agreed, "Yeah, I'm leaving now."

Amelia did not think twice when she reached out her hands to carry Rick. "Pass Rick to me. I'll put it into the cage."

"It's okay. I'll do it." Smiling still, Patrick dodged away her hands. He would never let that perverted dog had any chance to come near her again.

"Well..."

Amelia could not help but pity Rick which had been carried by Patrick ruthlessly in his hands. She comforted it gently, "I promise that I'll be back and fetch you home in a couple of days time."

Just as Rick was about to stick out its tongue and lick Amelia again, Patrick threw another glance at Rick at this moment. Understanding the threats in his stare, Rick had no other choice but to keep its mouth shut. Instead, it began howling pitifully in gesture of responding to Amelia.

Patrick had been rather impatient when he stuffed Rick into the cage. In the next second, he slammed the door of the cage shut ruthlessly. Carrying the cage, he turned around and said, "Amy, it's time for me to go."

"Wait a minute." Amelia picked up the paper bag on the coffee table and handed it over to him. "Bring this along too."

Patrick asked casually, "What's this?"

"They are some dog food and Rick's favorite toys." Certainly, Amelia had gotten everything prepared so that there was no need to burden Jessica further more.

Patrick nodded understanding^ as he carried the paper bag with his empty hand. "Is there anything else?"

"There isn't." Shaking her head, Amelia muttered, "Be careful."

Patrick came forward and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. He murmured softly, "Don't overthink when you're alone. I'll be back soon."

"I know. We're departing to Japan tomorrow. I need to pack my luggage." What she meant impliedly was that she would keep herself engaged so that there was no time for her to overthink.

Upon hearing that, Patrick flashed at her with a relieving smile. Thinking of returning home as soon as possible, he departed from the house with the cage and a bulky paper bag in his hands.

As soon as Amelia returned to her room to pack luggage for the trip, she came to realize that there were two problems.

Firstly, after their divorce, she took away most of her clothes from Land of Fragrance. Those clothes which remained in the wardrobe were those unable to fit into her luggage when she first left the place. Therefore, she was in desperate need of replenishing her clothes for the upcoming trip.

Secondly, she could not recall that she had ever applied for visa to Japan. However, on a second thought, she was confident that Patrick had already settled it for her when he invited her to the trip. There was no need for her to worry about the issue of her passport.

Therefore, the most urgent thing was to gather sufficient clothes for the trip. Amelia thought of buying new clothes at this moment. However, she changed her mind as soon as she realized that she would not have time to wash and put them to dry prior to the trip. At last, she decided to ask a favor from Alice so that Alice could bring some of her clothes from The Ramsay's Mansion for her.

Without hesitation, Amelia reached out to her phone and began dialing Alice's contact number. Upon expressing her need on the call, they came to agreement that they were going to meet at George's ward in a short while.

After ending the call, Amelia made a call to Patrick and updated him of her schedule later.

Patrick pondered for a while before asking Amelia to postpone their meeting to a much later time. In that case, he could have come back and send her to the hospital himself.

"Isn't it too troublesome? I'll be fine on my own."

"Amy, don't make me worried more." Patrick coaxed softly at the other end of the call. Getting swept away by his tenderness, Amelia found it impossible to turn his request down.

"Well... I'll call Aunt Alice and let her know." At last, Amelia compromised willingly.

Patrick showed up at downstairs of Jessica's place in half an hour time.

He took out the cage with Rick in it as well as the paper bag from his car boot. He managed to find his way to the doorstep of Jessica's apartment according to his excellent memory.

As soon as the doorbell rang, Jessica immediately put down the dishes she had been washing in the kitchen. She turned off the tap and wiped her hands dry on the apron around her. It was only then she came to answer the door.

"Amelia, you..." Before Jessica could finish her sentence, she came to realize that it was Patrick who was standing at the door. She could not help asking ruthlessly, "Patrick? Why are you here?!"

Patrick too was unfriendly towards Jessica. "Clear the way! I have questions for you."

Jessica blocked the entry to her house in annoyance. "Why must I let you enter my house when you've been rude?"

Patrick's expression remained calm as he said faintly, "These misfortunes could have happened on anyone. How is that possible for Amy to be certain that I'm the culprit all along?"

"Fine! You win!" Suppressing her urge to flash him with her middle finger, Jessica muttered dejectedly, "I was just kidding. I swear that I had never spoken anything bad of you to Amelia."

"Are you sure?"

Flashing a sarcastic smile, Jessica challenged, "You can always ask her yourself if you don't believe me. It's true that I don't like you but I can never be like you. I won't brainwash her into staying away from you."

Patrick fired back, "Don't talk as if you're a saint. When the affair between our respective parents broke out, weren't you the one who deliberately kept a distance from Amy?"

The color drained from Jessica's face. A hint of defensiveness lingered on her voice as she retorted, "What do you expect me to do at that time? Our views clashed. It was impossible for each other to compromise on our respective stands. I had no other choice but to back off. Otherwise, my mother and I would have suffered more!"

Patrick reminded, "Had Amy not spoken in favor of both of you repeatedly, I would never let go of you easily."

After a moment of silence, Jessica said sincerely, "I figured that out much later. That was why Amelia and I had talked it through."

Patrick nodded. "You're not completely brainless still."

"D*mn it! Who's brainless now?" Jessica shot him with a furious glare before she grunted, "I'm not an ungrateful person. You don't have to worry that I will come in between your relationship. After all, I want nothing but for Amelia to be happy. Hence, don't you dare to break her heart again. Otherwise, I will make sure she leaves you!"

Then, a confident smile played around the corner of his lips as he smirked. "Excuse me. I guess you'll never have this chance."

Jessica wondered if that was an implied promise that he would never mistreat Amelia again. She merely snorted and chose to say no more.

After clearing doubts in his head, Patrick glanced over at the cage before he said faintly, "I've handed you the dog. I'm leaving now."

"Please go." Jessica did not want to see him for any seconds more.

On Land of Fragrance.

At the sight of Patrick returning home, Amelia could not help but come forward. You're back! How was it? Did you talk it through with Jessica?"

Patrick did not lift up his head as he heardf Amelia's question at first instance. Amelia could not figure the answer from his face out as his fringe was covering his eyes. Just as Amelia was occupied by a bad feeling, all in a sudden he looked up at Amelia and announced carefreely, "It was good."

Amelia was triumphed. "That's great!"

At the sight of her cheerful expression, Patrick said pamperingly, "Let's go. We should depart to Dad's hospital."

"That's right!"
