Kaleb slapped her hand away and said earnestly, "Brittany, have you took the wrong person as your enemy? We are on the same boat now, we should unite as one."
"Who's on the same boat as you?" Brittany even wanted to kill him alive, not to mention being on the same line as him!
"Look, you have the evidence from Yancie while I have the video of your unrestrained behavior last night. No matter which one of them is being spread out, it will be detrimental to our reputation."
Brittany shook violently as if she had been drained of all her energy. "What?! Have you even recorded a video despite the fact that you've already hurt me so badly?!"
"It wasn't me. It was shot by my buddies." Kaleb laughed weirdly. "They watched it at the scene last night. They said it was wonderful and couldn't help but take it as a memory."
"You..." Brittany was at a loss for words as she felt extremely humiliated and furious.
No wonder she always had a feeling of being focused the previous night. It turned out that it was not her illusion. The old folks were actually watching her being bullied from the side!
She covered her painful chest with her hands. Tears rolled down from her eyes that had lost focus, making her look paler and more miserable.
Kaleb stood up at the moment and patted her face. "Brittany, you said that I am like your father, yet you secretly made a deal with Yancie behind my back. Do you know how sad I was when I knew about this?"
Brittany looked at him with blank eyes. After a while, she asked, "Kaleb... Aren't you afraid that I will risk everything...and we’ll perish together?"
Kaleb's heart skipped a beat, but he still laughed out loud and said, "Why should I be afraid? I'm already old so it's almost time for me to be dead. Think about yourself. You're young, beautiful and born into a good family. You're now even George's only biological daughter. When he dies, won't you and your mother be the heirs of his properties? Do you think it's worth it to give up such a good life just to fight with an old goat like me?"
Brittany felt a sense of fear as if she had been completely defeated when she heard Kaleb’s words.
Yes, she still had a good life. She was reluctant to risk such a life to perish together with Kaleb.
"Kaleb, I beg you. Return the video to me! As long as you return it to me, I will exchange you with everything I have bought from Yancie, okay?"
However, Kaleb answered, "Nah. I'm in no hurry to make a deal with you. I'm actually quite satisfied with the current situation. We're holding onto each other's weak point. In this way, we can continue to work peacefully."
Brittany asked in pain, "Why would you still want to work with me? I've lost my worth, haven't I?"
Kaleb smiled and touched her head as if he was encouraging a pet. "Of course not. I still need you to help me keep in touch with Derrick. I want you to incite him to take back the 20% of shares Petty has left for Amelia!"
"I'm not familiar with Derrick at all." said Brittany, choking with emotion. "The only time I wrote to him was to tell him that Amelia was not Petty's biological child. How can I interfere with him?"
Kaleb sneered. "I don't care about your difficulties.
I only care about the results."
Brittany suddenly looked up at him with her eyes full of hatred.
Kaleb acted as if he did not see it. "Well, stop keeping a gloomy face. You enjoyed it very much last night, didn't you? I heard that you kept pestering them, asking for more..."
"Shut up!" A strong killing intent shot out from Brittany's eyes.
"Fine, I won't say it anymore. Don't stare at me like that, or I might spread the videos out of nervousness." Kaleb threatened in return.
Brittany bit her lower lip so hard that blood could be seen, but she could not feel any pain.
At Kaito Farm in Japan.
"Amelia, what are you doing?"
Amelia who was sitting on the bed folding clothes looked up and said, "Oh, I'm packing up."
Nora sighed, "Time really flies. We're heading back in the blink of an eye."
"That's right. Since you and Patrick have to work while Andrew and Ashley have to go to school after all."
Nora frowned when she heard that. "Don't you also have to manage your company?"
Amelia's hand stopped slightly, and she replied dryly, "Uh, yes."
Amelia looked slightly uneasy, and Nora could not help but ask, "Amelia, did I say something wrong and make you unhappy?"
Amelia shook her head. "No, I just accidentally excluded myself. By the way, have you started packing?"
Nora answered as Amelia had successfully changed the subject, "I've started packing up since this morning. But other than mine, there are still Andrew's and Ashley's belongings to take care of. It's enough to keep me busy for a whole day."
Amelia hurriedly asked, "Do you need my help?"
"That's fine. I'm already very embarrassed to have you help me look after Andrew and Ashley for days." Nora replied.
Amelia smiled and said, "They are really cute. I am happy to take care of them."
Nora said with sincerity, "You like children so much. When your baby is born, you must care for him even more."
Amelia had some lack of confidence. "I'm just afraid that I might get flustered since I don't have the experience."
Nora said with emotion, "When I first became a mother, I was lost as well. Especially when I gave birth to two of them in one go, it was truly killing."
here?"
Amelia could still remember it clearly, "You said you would take me to live in the farm, raise the cows, and..." As she was saying, a trace of understanding flashed through her eyes. "Are you taking me to see maple leaves?"
Patrick confirmed, "That's right."
"But..." Amelia looked down at the scattered clothes on the bed.
"Stop minding about other things for the moment. I'll stitch your clothes for you later. Now give me your time, okay?" Patrick looked at her tenderly.
"Okay, I haven't seen the maple leaves in real life yet." Amelia paused and asked, "Should we invite Nora as well?"
Patrick refused decisively. "Better not, it's a date just for the two of us."
When Patrick held Amelia's hand and wandered through the maple leaf forest as far as the eye could see, Amelia felt as if she was in another space. Where all the hustle and bustle was isolated from the outside of the forest, leaving only peace and happiness inside.
Patrick introduced, "This is the most famous maple forest in the area. Unfortunately, it's not autumn now. So all the leaves are yellow-green." "It doesn't matter. It's also very beautiful." Amelia raised her hand and caught a maple leaf falling in the air. She looked at it carefully in her palm.
Patrick could not help but ask in a low voice hen he saw the smile on her face, "Do you like it?"
Amelia nodded. "Yes, I do."
Patrick pretended to be casual as he asked, "Do you know the floriography of maple leaves?"
Amelia shook her head and said, "What could it be?"
Patrick answered, "To be positive and to advance forward step by step."
"Really? That's great." Amelia replied. Suddenly, she let go of the maple leaf in her hand and let it fall to the ground.
Patrick's eyes darkened at the look of this. Was Amy hinting at him that she would definitely not go for the Apex Construction Corporation?
"Mr. Hopper, thank you for bringing me here. Can I take a photo with you?" Amelia asked.
"Sure." Patrick agreed.
Amelia then took out the selfie stick she brought with her along the way and put her phone on it. She grabbed the handle with her hand and lifted it high. It was not until she, Patrick and the maple leaf- covered road behind her all fitted into the screen that she pressed the capture button with a click.
In the photo, the man and woman were snuggling tightly together, as if they would never be separated for a lifetime.
