Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1615

Amelia went silent for a moment before she replied in a conflicted tone, "No wonder Milton told me that Maryanne knew he was together with her to avenge me. I didn't understand at first, but now... I finally understand."

Patrick reached out and placed his hand on Amelia's cheek. He looked down at her and asked, "Do you blame me?"

Amelia bit her lower lip. "No matter what, you guys chose to do this to avenge me. So, how can I blame you two? You saw how Milton and Maryanne have ended up. Although Milton has taken his revenge, he ends up being implicated. I feel that... that the loss outweighs the gain."

Finally, Amelia asked, "Did Milton know that you had set up Maryanne to overhear your conversation with him?"

Patrick shook his head and looked sideways at the closed door. He replied in a low voice, "I was just about to go in and tell him."

"Okay." Amelia nodded in agreement. "Do you want me to accompany you?"

"No need. This is between him and me. Let us settle it ourselves." With that, Patrick gave Amelia a reassuring look and walked to Milton's room.

But Amelia was not at ease, so she stayed by the door.

After some time, she suddenly heard a loud bang from the room. Her eyes sharpened, and she quickly opened the door to look inside.

She found Milton staring at Patrick with his hand clenched into a fist, ready to swing at Patrick at anytime.

In all fairness, Milton could beat Patrick for what Patrick had done, but Milton was no better than him either.

If he did not accept Patrick's suggestion from the beginning, none of this would have happened.

After a long sigh, Amelia continued to wait it out.

In the room.

Patrick swept a glance at Milton's bloodshot eyes and said meaningfully, "You told me you're in love with her."

"Shut up!" Milton raised a finger, which almost jabbed Patrick's nose. "You deceived me as well!"

Patrick replied lightly, "I didn't mean to do that."

"You didn't mean to?" Milton was so enraged that he grabbed Patrick's collar and yelled hoarsely, "Maryanne said that on that day, she was in the room next door and heard our plan. I even wondered if the sound insulation effect was that horrible. I didn't expect that you had arranged all of this! Tell me, why did you do this?"

Patrick let Milton grab hold of him. "Of course, I did it to punish Maryanne."

Milton's other clenched his fist so tightly that his knuckles creaked. "Patrick, you've made a fool out of everyone! Are you satisfied to see me like this?"

Patrick fell silent. "This matter has gone beyond my expectations."

Milton asked through gritted teeth, "Then, I'll like to ask what were your expectations."

"I thought you would dump Maryanne, or ignore her past grudges and stay with her. I didn't expect you to drag things out and let her confront you instead. It seems that your charm can do nothing more than this."

Outside the room.

Amelia's heart missed a beat with Patrick's words,. "Oh god!"

Sure enough, in the next second, Milton's fist crushed into Patrick's face. Amelia covered her mouth and suppressed her scream.

In the room.

Patrick wiped the corner of his split lips, then looked at Milton, who was still angry. Patrick

asked calmly, "Do you need more?"

Milton was taken aback, then roared with a livid face, "Get out!"

After he raised an eyebrow, Patrick left. It could be said that he was a selfish guy who could bear to let anyone down except Amelia.

Outside the room.

Amelia felt distressed as she saw Patrick's swollen face when he emerged from the room. But she said, "I bet you won't dare to do such immoral things in the future anymore!"

Patrick looked at Amelia silently and pointed at her eyes. "Amy, you're crying."

Amelia rubbed her eyes and found them a little wet. She then said, "I didn't cry for you!"

"I know." Patrick touched her cheek and continued desolately, "You're crying for Milton."

Amelia felt sorry as she saw his action. "Does it hurt?"

"I have to bear it even if it's painful. That's my explanation to you."

Amelia was stunned. "You provoked Milton on purpose and let him beat you, didn't you?"

Patrick snorted, "Do you think I'm such a good person?"

Amelia pondered for a moment. Patrick was both good and wicked, as he did things according to his mood. Maybe he had wanted to let Milton vent his anger, but he was unwilling to admit it. "So, what are you going to do next?"

Amelia was taken aback for a brief moment when she heard the voice coming from nowhere, and she realized that the voice came from the device in front of her. She replied calmly, "Is that you, Mr. Hobart? Did you forget that you once invited me to your house? Although I didn't come, I still remember the address."

Hobart felt a little speechless after he heard her answer,. "Well, then why are you here?"

"I'm looking for Maryanne. Is she here?"

"She's not here! Please go back," Hobart's voice suddenly sank.

Amelia could sense the displeasure in his tone and could not help but whisper gently, "Mr. Hobart, I mean no harm. You don't have to reject me so quickly."

She was soft and polite, which made it appeared as if Hobart was being unkind. After all, Hobart used to have feelings for her. So, if he kept her out of the door like this, it would not be quite in line with his reputation of 'being kind to women'.

Retrieving his thoughts, Hobart answered seriously, "You have to answer my question."

"Okay. Ask away." "Is Maryanne in an argument with Milton?"

"Yes."

Hobart's voice was sharp. "And it's because of you?"

Amelia did not deny it, "Yes."

Hobart snorted, "You can go back! My sister won't see you!"

Amelia would not have come here if it was not for Milton. She said, "How about this, Mr. Hobart? Please ask Maryanne if she wants to see me. If she doesn't want to, I'll leave immediately."

Hobart stared at Amelia on the other end of the camera with some annoyance. They had not seen each other for a long time, but she was still as stubborn as before. She would never give up until she reached her goal!

But Hobart loved this attitude of hers. If Patrick had not proposed to her, Hobart would not have minded continuing to get with her!

Hold on! Why was he thinking of this in this crucial moment?

Hobart muttered 'idiot' under his breath before walking back to Maryanne's room.

When he came back, he opened the door and saw Amelia's calm face.

Hobart asked with intrigue, "You seem to be very confident that I'll come to open the door for you?"

Amelia nodded slightly and asked, "Can I come in now?"
