Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1640

When Patrick returned home, he saw Amelia taking care of two drunkards.

Not to mention Jessica, but even Milton was drunk in their house. What was going on?

Amelia made a "shh" gesture to Patrick. She took him to a corner and explained, "It's been long since the three of us gathered so Jessica suddenly suggested to have a drink. I couldn't drink much as I'm pregnant. But they have something on their minds and both got drunk..."

Patrick said with annoyance, "I see."

Amelia pulled at his sleeve. "Are you angry?"

She had taken his treasured wine to entertain Jessica and Milton, so it was reasonable that he got angry.

Patrick raised his hand and gently covered her belly. "No, I'm just worried as you have to take care of them while being pregnant."

Amelia felt warm. "It's okay. I'm fine."

"Alright." Patrick looked in the direction of Milton and muttered, "Could the brat have really fallen in love with Maryanne?" "I think so." Amelia said, "It's just that he doesn't want to admit it. After all, he thinks of Maryanne as a cruel woman. If he admits that he likes her, he might feel very sorry for me."

"What about you? What do you think?"

"Me? To tell you the truth, when I heard that you worked together against Maryanne, I no longer hold anger towards her. I've seen her hand, and I guess the scar will be there for the rest of her life. Not to mention that she is willing to be deceived by you and have her feelings played by Milton. For me, it's really enough. No matter what choice Milton makes, I won't blame him." Amelia said from the bottom of her heart.

At 7 pm.

When Milton woke up on the sofa, he saw Patrick sitting opposite him, watching TV. Of course, he had turned the volume down under Amelia's strong request.

Milton felt so embarrassed. He actually got drunk in the man's house and fell asleep in a casual manner. He thought that nothing could be more shameful than that.

He held the handle of the sofa and slowly sat up, hesitating to say something.

Patrick turned to look at Milton as he heard the sound made by Milton. "You're awake?"

"Yes." Milton did not want to respond, but he just happened to answer subconsciously.

Patrick asked with a fake smile, "I heard that you drank three bottles of red wine alone?"

Milton's face froze. "Well, how much is it?"

"Just, 500,000 dollars each."

Shocked, Milton stopped reaching for his wallet and said directly in embarrassment, "I don't have so much money with me. I'll pay it to you next time."

"Sure." Patrick did not refuse.

"It's time for me to go back," Milton said as he stood up and looked around.

Patrick noticed and answered, "She's upstairs."

"I'll go greet her." Milton hastily informed Patrick and headed up to the second floor.

Patrick did not stop him.

In the guest room, Amelia were to call Jessica up for dinner. But she was still drunk and pestered her to have a conversation, "You know what, Amelia? In the past, I envied your life to be able to have whatever you want. But now, I just want to live peacefully until I get old..."

Amelia knew that Jessica was afraid of getting revenge from Sawyer. That was why she had the most simple wish of "living until an old age".

"Amelia, why is this world so unfair? I admit I was blind to have loved him. But if he didn't like me, he could have just dumped me and the baby. I'm fine to raise the child by myself..."

"And you! You're such a good person, yet you have a pitiful background... Amelia, have you ever thought of searching for your biological parents?"

Amelia's mind went blank for a moment as she heard this, and then she said somewhat gloomily, "I don't know."

"If it's me, I must find them!"

"Why?" Amelia looked at her in confusion.

"Could there be any other reasons? I want to know what's on their mind when they abandoned me! If they have their difficulties and ask for my forgiveness, I think I will let them off. But if they accidentally lost me by the road or deliberately abandoned me, I will definitely give them a slap in the face. I will tell them that I'm living a good life even without them! Especially you, Amelia. Since you are now the wife of a rich family, the scene of meeting your parents must be very interesting!" Jessica said with excitement.

Amelia said faintly, "I've thought about what you said, but I'm afraid that other than showing off, I'll be pestered by them. If they are greedy to ask for this and that from me after claiming to be my biological parents, am I not causing trouble for myself?"

"That makes sense. But they have not raised you up nor showered you with paternal love for all the years. If they really dared to ask for money from you, I suppose they will be badly criticised by the public without Patrick doing anything." Jessica said.

"Do you mean to still support me in finding them?" Amelia asked.

Jessica answered, "Yes! Amelia, you should give yourself a chance, and also offer a chance for your parents. Otherwise, you will never know if they really have no conscience or have some unknown difficulties."

The door of the guest room was not closed, so Milton happened to hear their conversation when he passed by. He was silent for a moment and called out softly, "Amelia."

Amelia turned to look at the door.

Jessica looked down at her dressing and said to her, "You may let him in."

Lying on the bed, Amelia smiled at him. "Yes, but you shall avoid speed driving and fatigue driving."

Stunned, Patrick asked meaningfully, "When did Amy see me driving tiredly?"

Amelia's smile froze. "You have never, but can you please consider my feelings as a passenger?"

Patrick had no choice but to coax her wife when he saw her sulking face, "Okay, okay. I promise I won't do it again."

Even so, Amelia expressionlessly cursed at Patrick's satisfied face the next morning, "Liar!"

Patrick wanted to hug her, but was hit by her pillow. Not only that, she even announced mercilessly, "From tonight on, you are not allowed to touch me for a month!"

Patrick firmly refused to compromise, "I may agree to any other request of yours but definitely not this one, you may forget about it!"

"You!" Amelia was so angry that her face turned red.

Patrick felt distressed about that, but it was a matter of his enjoyment so he would not give in at all.

"You're a ruthless driver. Not only do you like car racing, but also always have a long ride. How could anyone keep up with your energy? What's more, I am pregnant..." Amelia pretended to turn her face and wipe the corners of her eyes with her hand.

"Amy! Are you crying?" Patrick could not mind the original intention he had insisted. He immediately climbed over to hug her and said, "I'm out of control! I'm a misbehaved beast. Don't cry... Just hit me as you like as long as you can stop your tears!"

"Do you still care about my body? You seem to not even care about our baby!" Amelia blamed him.

"Of course I care! I care about the both of you!" Patrick said repeatedly.

"But you still..." Amelia looked at him with a grievance.

Patrick gritted his teeth and said with a livid face, "Fine, it's a deal for a month!"

His words actually startled Amelia.

The period of a month she had said was just a casual one. In fact, she just wished that he could control himself a little. She did not expect that he would agree with it.

When Patrick saw her looking down without a word, he said anxiously, "Amy, is one month still not enough? Why don't you just let me be a monk?"

Pfft!

"You idiot!" After scolding him with a smile, Amelia pushed him away. She put on her slippers, straightened up from the bed, and went to the bathroom.
