Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1658

"Very well."

The strange voice on the other end of the phone seemed to be smiling. Eve's then asked irritably, "Why are you asking this for?"

The other end only replied, "Because I will help you fulfill what you want."

Eve's heart skipped a beat, but she said in an indifferent tone, "I don't understand what you're talking about."

The voice sighed. "I thought I have made myself clear."

Eve took a deep breath and warned, "I don't care who you are. But if you drag Patrick into this, I'll never spare you!"

"Oh. No, no, no," the voice sighed with emotion. "What does this have to do with your son?"

Eve gradually relaxed, but the dark side of her heart had come to an unprecedented peak. "What do you plan to do?"

The voice replied, "It will be your son and Amelia Ramsay's wedding on the 20th of this month. I need your help. Will you help me?"

That was five days away!

If the caller could make Amelia disappear from the face of the earth in five days, then Eve would not hesitate.

Eve's fingers that were holding the phone suddenly tightened as if she was holding Amelia's life. She heard herself as she gave the affirmative answer, "Yes!"

A minute later.

As Eve slowly lowered her phone, the dark screen reflected her expression. She looked frenzied like she had just made a deal with the devil.

In the evening.

Florence leaned on the bed and watched a movie. She was lively and active, so she usually did not stay at home like this unless it was time to sleep. However, she had nowhere to go.

After she lost count on how many times she had yawned, Florence looked at the door. Just as she considered calling 119 and asking them to break her out, she heard a click. The door opened.

She sat up from the bed immediately. However, she soon realized something and laid back down. She did not look at the door on purpose and stared at the TV with a cold look.

Eve had opened the door. She had planned to wait for Florence to beg her for mercy, but after she received the call, she changed her mind.

Eve pulled out the key from the keyhole, then turned to shut the door. She approached Florence to the head of her bed and said as if nothing had happened, "Florence, you were watching the TV for the entire afternoon?"

"If not?" Florence replied sarcastically, "What else can I do?"

"You shouldn't have made me angry, my dear."

After Eve said that, Florence turned her face away and looked as if she was about to get mad again. At that sight, Eve added, "But I should apologize to you too. I shouldn't have locked you in the room even if I disagree with you. This has never happened before."

Yes, this had never happened before.

The rage in Florence's eyes could not help but dissipate a little, but this did not mean that she could immediately forgive Eve for her actions.

In the next second, Eve gently placed the keys on the bedside table and said, "As an apology, you'll hold onto this key from now on."

Did that mean that Eve would not lock Florence up again?

Florence could not help but feel glad, but she immediately stopped herself. Did Eve think she could make Florence forget what happened?

"I'm asking Amelia out to have an afternoon tea

tomorrow to make up for today!"

As Florence announced that, she glanced at the bedside table for fear that Eve would snatch away the key on the table in the next second.

Fortunately, Eve did not do that.

Eve even replied, "Okay."

Florence's eyes widened from surprise. "You... You're not kidding, right?"

"Isn't that what you want?" Eve responded while casually taking a seat at Florence's bedside.

If she had sat down when she first entered the room, Florence would have disliked her. But Florence was struck by awe and disbelief, so Eve sitting down on her bed was the least of her concerns.

Under Florence's shocked gaze, Eve revealed a kind smile. In fact, the relationship between the two had always been well until the disagreements regarding Amelia.

And that was why Eve had to get rid of that b*tch!

"Florence, I think the reason we quarrel is that we haven't had a good conversation for a long time. You're a good child and never make me angry. But ever since you know the truth about Patrick's car accident, you hold an estrangement against me. Do you know how sad I am because of that?" Eve went on as she reached out and held the back of

Florence's hand.

Florence answered with sorrow, "Mom, I don't want to make you sad either. To be honest, everyone in the family doesn't want you to feel sad. Not long ago, gramps was so angry that he sent you back to Home of Watson. But under Owen and Nora's pleadings, he acquiesced for you to return home. I think you should understand gramps' intention. He didn't actually want to drive you away. All he wants is for you to witness the happiness of Patrick and Amelia with us. Why don't you just get over it? Mom, I don't want to see our family collapse!"

Florence's eyes reddened as she went on. Eve's eyes flashed with a trace of malice, but she cleared up her mind in no time and said, "My silly child..."

"Mom! You can come to the wedding with me! In that case, Patrick, Amelia, and gramps will forgive you! Is that okay?" Florence tried to convince Eve to realize her mistake.

"Hmm?"

"I've convinced my mom to attend your wedding!"

Amelia was reasonably awed by the announcement. "What...?"

"You find it incredible too, don't you?" Florence asked proudly.

"Didn't she say she that won't attend?" Moreover, Mr. Hopper did not send her an invitation.

"It's all because of me!" Florence patted her chest in excitement. "I tried my best effort to persuade her! I was even..."

"Even what?" Amelia did not catch her clearly.

"It's nothing." Florence brushed her nose. She had promised Patrick not to say anything about being locked up in her room and the rest to Amelia.

"In short, Amelia, if Mom goes to your wedding, can you... treat her better?"

"Am I treating her badly now?" Amelia raised her brow.

"No! I mean... It's just that you haven't called her 'Mom' in a long time. If possible, can you call her 'Mom' on the wedding day? Just once!" Florence observed Amelia's reaction while she fumbled with her fingers.

A complicated look showed on Amelia's face as she heard this.

"After she came back this time, I found that she has aged. She dresses up elegantly, but I felt that she's becoming older and paler... " Florence clenched her fists as if she was reprimanding herself for her inconsiderate stance.

"Ladies, Earl Grey Tea." Right then, the waiter served them a teapot and a set of cups, which elevated Florence's mood.

Looking at the tea, Amelia said with a smile, "It seems that you've ordered a suitable afternoon tea for me."

"Yes!" Florence's eyes lit up. "You're pregnant now. So, of course, you're my first priority! Come on, let me pour a cup for you!"

A moment after, Amelia received the cup with the sweet aromatic tea and said to Florence, "Thank you."

Florence crossed her fingers then asked expectantly, "So, Amelia, what do you think about what I said just now?"

The steam from the cup fogged up Amelia's vision. Amelia said, "If... If she comes to the wedding to sincerely congratulate Mr. Hopper and me, I'm willing to call her 'Mom'."

Florence knew Amelia was kind-hearted!

It was the right decision for Florence to intervene!
