How shameless!
Everyone shared the same sentiment as they heard this, especially Owen.
If Owen had not arrived in time, Sawyer would have fled with Sissi. If that was the case, how could Patrick have subdued him then!
However, for Amelia's sake, Owen did not blow Patrick's cover.
Oblivious to the truth, Amelia's worship of Patrick naturally increased. "Mr. Hopper, I knew that nothing would be difficult for you!"
Patrick’s mood brightened at that. However, he immediately hid his smile and looked at Amelia with a serious expression. "Amy, tell me. How did you survive these three months? Did Sawyer bully you?"
Amelia blinked slowly. She was thinking about what Sawyer had done to her in the past three months.
After a long while, she replied, "It was difficult at first. He locked me in a room and chained my feet to the bed." "At that time, I thought it was your mother who kidnapped me until he started to talk to me with a voice changer."
"He told me that as long as I eat on time every day, he would answer me a question. This way, 1 gradually guessed his identity."
"One day, his voice stopped coming through. I thought something had happened to him. A few days later, a foreign man broke into my room and forced an injection into my arm. After that, I passed out."
"When I woke up again, I found myself locked up in a place that was completely different from the previous room. I then started to suspect if I was taken to another city." "So, I began to probe Sawyer. He admitted that he did move me to another spot. I asked him if his original residence was discovered, and he told me I shouldn't know too much. He said if I know about it, I would be disappointed in you..." Patrick and Owen, who were sitting on both sides of Amelia, were listening to her encounters with great attention. However, when they heard this, Patrick interrupted, "Amy, you said it had been only a few days after Sawyer disappeared that you were taken from the original residence by a foreign man?"
"Yes." Amelia nodded.
Patrick suddenly frowned. "It seems that Sawyer had fooled us."
"Hmm," answered Owen with a strange look on his face.
Amelia looked at Patrick then at Owen. She asked, "What's going on?"
In the face of her question, Owen answered, "After you were kidnapped, we asked Kaiden to send an email to Sawyer. As soon Sawyer opened the email, we could lock onto his location."
Amelia was stunned. "Kaiden agreed to help you to deal with his cousin? I remember him telling me that he looks up to Sawyer the most!"
Patrick explained, "After he learned everything that Sawyer planned, he was livid. He said that he would help us find you no matter what."
Owen immediately added, "Not only him, but Ryan, his wife and Abner too. To help you, they assisted the police to film this video. After that, Kaiden sent it to Sawyer."
"What video?" Amelia asked with curiosity.
"In the video, the police pretended to be the kidnappers and took Abner from Ryan and his wife. We wanted to threaten Sawyer to hand you out, but not only did he not fall for it, but he also took the opportunity to play a trick on us!"
"If I'm right about tthis, Sawyer had deliberately left you in his original residence for a few days. He wanted to see if our rescue team could trace you."
"Unfortunately, we were all distracted by our inertia. We thought Sawyer must have taken you away, so we didn't search anywhere else. We left you to suffer for so many days!" Owen was getting more and more embarrassed as he went on. But he did not like jumping around problems, so he said straightforwardly, "Amelia, it's the result of my misjudgment. Please put the blame on me!"
Amelia shook her head and said, "Owen, you’ve done enough for me and Mr. Hopper. How can I blame you? I would be ungrateful to do that."
At the same time, Patrick changed the subject. "Amy, tell us what happened next."
"Okay." Amelia continued, "After I was brought to L.A. by Sawyer, there was a turn of events. He had privately investigated my background and found that I was his half-sister."
Although they had heard about it from Sissi and Sawyer, Patrick and Owen were always sceptical. However, the other witness was right in front of them, and they trusted her with their hearts. So, how could they still doubt it?
Amelia looked at them and understood, "At first, my expression was the same as yours. I thought that this must be Sawyer's new plot."
"After that, he bought an apparatus and called a doctor over. The doctor did a DNA identification with me in his villa, and the report showed that we're related."
Patrick asked, "Could it be that Sawyer had done something to the apparatus beforehand, or could the doctor have modified the report?"
After a moment of silence, Amelia replied, "I’m not completely sure, but I remember one thing very clearly."
"I once came to Streams Villa to find Sawyer to ask him to make an investment."
"But he was not there that day. However, Abner fell off the stairs and hurt his leg because he did not pay attention to his surroundings when he was playing with the remote control planes."
Patrick answered softly in a casual tone, "It's all healed. That woman wanted to take my heart, but it's not that easy."
Amelia's expression froze. "Have you disposed of that woman who pretended to be me?"
Patrick replied, "She's locked up in jail with my mom."
"What did you say?" Amelia was taken aback. "Your mother is in jail?"
Patrick replied coldly, "She's one of the masterminds who kidnapped you. I feel sorry for you and myself if I don't lock her up."
"But, she's your mom..." Amelia looked at Owen incredulously. "Owen, you agreed with it too?"
Owen sighed. "Yea. On the day of the wedding, I personally handcuffed my mother and brought her to the police car. My father said that when she comes out of jail, he'll officially divorce her. After that, she'll no longer have any ties with the Hopper family, and everyone can go back to having peaceful days."
Amelia was stunned for a brief moment, then she suddenly smiled bitterly and said, "I didn't want to come to this stage with her. I was..."
Amelia did not continue her sentence. She shook her head slightly and said to Patrick and Owen, "Forget it. Anything I say now is useless. I don't want to plead for what she has done. It'll make me hypocritical. Let's go according to the trial."
Then, Patrick and Owen looked at each other and saw the approval in each other’s eyes.
That was right. Eve would get the punishment of the law. She had committed too many bad things, and she did not deserve their forgiveness.
"By the way, Mr. Hopper. There's one more thing..."
"What is it?"
"My dad and Aunt Alice, are they all right?"
Patrick looked at Owen.
Owen coughed lightly. Then, he said, "Amelia, Patrick doesn't know much about Mr. George and Aunt Alice's recent situation. Let me tell you."
