Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1712

If it were not for Sissi, Sawyer would not have been attacked by both Patrick and Owen. Then, his effort would not have gone in vain, and he would not have been caught.

Since that had happened, his future was uncertain, but Sissi could not help him at all. Instead, she created trouble for him.

Sissi's yelling attracted Owen's attention.

At the sight of this, a hint of gloominess appeared in Sawyer's eyes.

If he had guessed right, Owen was going to deal with Sissi to find evidence of his crime.

Fortunately, Sissi did not know what business he was engaged in. Otherwise, Sawyer would have been betrayed.

"Ms. Roberts, if you hadn’t spoken, I almost forgot about you." Owen then approached Sissi with a charming smile. Under her vigilant and angered stare, he unlocked her handcuffs.

"You..." What was he doing?

Then, Sissi rubbed her wrists around as she looked at Owen in surprise.

Owen then said cordially, ''Ms. Roberts, you're a lady and one of Patrick's old friends. I should've treated you with courtesy, but you're suspected as an accomplice to kidnapping. So..."

Before Owen could finish, Sissi interrupted sharply, "I didn't kidnap Amelia!''

Owen then gestured and indicated to Sissi to settle down. "Calm down. Even if you did kidnap her, it doesn't matter. After all, you confessed to us over the phone. So, I can guarantee that even if you're brought to court, you'll get leniency."

Sissi became more and more irritated by Owen's importunate. She could not help but blurt out, "I didn't kidnap Amelia! It was Sawyer! He..."

Immediately, Sawyer turned around and roared, "Shut up!"

Sawyer's yell made Sissi tremble, then tears streamed down her cheeks.

Owen witnessed all of this, so he pretended to comfort Sissi and said, "Okay, don't be sad. I'll ask someone to take you to the lounge. You haven't had a good rest all the way here."

As his voice fell, he shot a look at the policewoman not far away from him.

Then, the officer took Sissi away.

As soon as Sissi's figure disappeared, Owen immediately restrained the fake smile on his face and said to Sawyer, "Did you hear what she said?"

"Hear what?" Sawyer's expression turned even colder.

"You're playing dumb, huh? Then, I'll make it clear for you. Sissi admitted that you kidnapped Amelia. Listen carefully. It was kidnapping, not 'taking her away', as you mentioned. Don't even try to say it was an invitation."

This was the reason Sawyer yelled at Sissi a moment ago. He had spent all his time attempting to get rid of the charge, but Sissi had blown off his effort with just one sentence. Ironically, she shed tears in front of him.

How dense was she to destroy his plan like this?

At the memory of her phone call to Patrick, it was hard for Sawyer not to suspect that she was not intentional in doing all of this.

Perhaps, she had already wanted to sell him out to clear her name. What more was there for Sawyer to expect from a woman like her?

Sawyer's face was increasingly becoming sinister, which Owen felt satisfying.

"Sawyer, aren't you quite eloquent? Why did you stop talking?"

Amid Owen's gloating smile, Sawyer spoke coldly, "Sissi has never rested ever since you caught her, so it's normal for her to spout nonsense when her mind is muddled. You tried to induce her to say something to frame me. So even I'm eloquent, I couldn't argue." "Muddled mind? I was trying to induce her?" Owen pondered over the words with interest. "Fine. I'll wait when she's got plenty of rest. Then, I'll talk to her in- depth about you. I promise, my conversation with her will be fair and open. I won't involve any personal grudges."

Bur Sawyer remained a poker face as he replied, "I doubt that."

"Haha. I think you're being diffident. You're afraid that she'll reveal something bad about you, so you're in a hurry to pin the blame on her and me. Firstly, you said her mind is muddled, then blamed me for inducing her to get evidence. These make you the most unscrupulous, you know?" Owen derided Sawyer.

If Sawyer were to lose his calmness, he would start 'spouting nonsense'just like Sissi did.

But Sawyer did not. He was still composed as he said, "If you stake all the chips to find a breakthrough from her, I guarantee that you'll lose out miserably."

Owen said in the same tone, "If we can't find a breakthrough from her, there's still a bunch of people we captured. I don't believe that we can't force any of them to start talking and spill."

Sawyer avoided the implication and said, "The

Hopper family can really do anything to bring me down."

Sissi was about to say that she did not mean that, but the policewoman looked down at her watch. "Sorry, I still have duties to deal with, so I can't accompany you. But everything's here. You can also call your parents and friends to tell them that you're safe."

After that, the officer left politely and left Sissi sitting alone on the sofa.

As Owen saw the officer coming out of the lounge, he calmly stepped aside, lest Sissi found him eavesdropping.

When the officer shut the door and came out, Owen said, "Well done."

"Hehe!" The policewoman revealed a bashful smile. "I'm the best at getting close to people.”

"That's right!" After Owen gave her a few compliments without any hesitation, he gave her the next responsibility, "Then you'll take full responsibility for her in the following days.”

"Okay, just leave her to me!"

In the end, the officer added, "I just urged her to call her parents and friends. I think they're easier for her to talk to than me, so she'll let out more."

"Hmm, you did a good job. I'll let the people in the monitor room keep a close eye on her."

In the hospital.

Florence came back with a bag of heavy fruits. When she saw Gramps Hopper and the others sitting in rows, she asked in surprise, "Hey, why are you all outside?"

"Amelia is sleeping. We don't want to disturb her." Granny Hopper said while glancing at the bag in Florence's hand, "Where have you been for so long? Have you bought the pears?"

"Yes, I did. I'm worried that the vendors downstairs aren't hygienic, so I went to the fruit market to buy some. Gramps, granny, Nora, and Aunt Alice, do you want some?"

"No. Wash it and have it. Look at the sweat on your face," said Granny Hopper, as she felt distressed and amused for Florence at the same time.

"Ugh, I have no choice." Florence rubbed her sweaty cheek with her shoulder and said in a cheeky way, "I'm doing this for Amelia. As long as she's happy, it's worth buying her fruit every day."

"Well, you're the best sweet talker," Granny Hopper replied with a chuckle.

While speaking, Florence suddenly saw Amelia waking up on the hospital bed through the window. She could not help but express, "Amelia is awake! I'll go in and give her the pears first!"
