At the thought of this, Sissi's heart surged with hope. After she put the microphone back, she walked away with the officer reluctantly.
Sawyer's eyes gloomed gradually as he watched Sissi leave. If Sissi could not handle such a simple matter, he would no longer have any feelings for her.
On the other hand, Sissi started to pester the officer. "Officer, when can I leave this place?"
A thought flashed across the policewoman's mind as she answered politely, "Ms. Roberts, I told you last night that you're suspected of colluding with Sawyer to kidnap Miss Amelia Ramsay. Unless you can prove to us that Sawyer was the only culprit, otherwise..."
"But Sawyer is innocent!" Sissi, who had reached a consensus with Sawyer, spoke before the policewoman could reply, "Amelia Ramsay is his younger sister. He took her away because he was afraid that she would be unhappy after marrying into the Hopper family. How can an elder brother harm his younger sister?"
The officer warned with a serious tone as he heard this, "Ms. Roberts, every word you say will be evidence in court in the future, so I hope you'll be responsible for your statements."
Sissi was shocked. Then, she toughened up, "Officer, I'm telling the truth. Sure, Sawyer is a suspect, but he also has the right to get a lawyer. It's okay if you don't let me leave. I'll just make a call to a lawyer for me and Sawyer."
The officer could not help but put her hands behind her back, or she was afraid she would do something to Sissi.
"Well, I'll convey your message to my superiors. As I said, I'll try my best to help you. But the discretions aren't on me but the superiors."
At this, Sissi's expression eased a little. "I know. Thank you."
As they two talked, they returned to the lounge. After the officer settled down Sissi, she turned and left the lounge to look for Owen.
As for Owen, he just left the monitoring room. So, he knew about Sawyer's conversation with Sissi.
The policewoman asked when she saw Owen, "Captain Hopper, what should we do now?"
Owen pondered for a moment, then said, "You don't have to advise Sissi anymore. She's now trying to clear up Sawyer's name. No matter what you say, she won't listen to you."
The officer frowned. "That's true. If it was in the beginning, when her mind was shaken, I would still have the confidence to get something out of her. But now, Sawyer has her wrapped around his finger. After all, I'm just a stranger to her, and I'm a police officer too. Naturally, she trusts Sawyer more than me."
"Well, you've done a good job. Let's take Sissi into custody later."
Either way, Sissi has committed denunciation, so putting her into custody was reasonable and compliant with the law.
"Yes!" When the officer heard that they could put Sissi into custody, she felt refreshed. She had wanted to do so for a long time.
"Also," Owen continued, "Sawyer has made two requests to Sissi. Sawyer had asked Sissi to find a person called 'Savannah'. I met this person at Streams Villa. She's a servant to Sawyer. Not only does she have a close relationship with him, but she's also protective of Sawyer. Surely, Sawyer wants her to tell Ryan Quartley that Amelia is his daughter."
"All right, stop the bullsh*t!" The officer quickly took a pair of handcuffs from her waist and handcuffed Sissi while Sissi was still in shock.
At this, Sissi's face turned pale, and she feared up. "You... You can't do this to me! I didn't do anything. It's illegal for you to imprison me!"
"When you locked up Miss Amelia Ramsay, you've violated the law." After saying that, the policewoman tugged on the chain and said with a poker face, "If you don't want to be pulled along, you'd better stay close to me."
After that, regardless of Sissi had heard her or not, the officer took a big stride and yanked at Sissi's wrist.
Sissi could not help but start to shout, "I want a lawyer! I want to sue you!"
The officer replied as she continued to walk, "Okay, we'll inform your family and ask them to hire a lawyer for you."
"My family?" At this, Sissi could not help to feel terrified.
Her parents had not acknowledged her as their daughter since a long time ago. If they found out that she was in prison, not only would they refuse to help her, but they would also tell the police that she was not related to
them.
