Chapter 734
Rachel suddenly summoned the courage to loop her arms around his neck.
“Tyler, I-”
The ring of a phone cut her off.
Tyler frowned in annoyance.
He reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his phone. He was about to answer when Rachel’s eyes happened to catch the name flashing across the screen. It was Anne.
In that instant, the words stuck in her throat disappeared.
Tyler didn’t really want to pick up, but Anne was alone in her hotel room. If something happened to her, it wouldn’t be easy to explain.
“What is it?” he asked.
Anne’s panicked voice came through.
“Tyler, can you come over right now? I’m so scared!”
“What happened?”
“There was a murder here at the hotel! I don’t know if it was some lunatic, but I’m terrified. Can you please come get me?”
Tyler pressed his fingers to his brow. “Stay in your room. Don’t go anywhere. I’ll come over now.”
“Okay.” Anne sounded like she was on the verge of tears.
Hanging up, Tyler turned to Rachel. “Get some rest. I need to head over to Anne’s hotel. Something happened there.”
Rachel wasn’t the jealous type. She understood immediately.
“Go on,
don’t waste time. She’s alone.”
Tyler grabbed his things and was just about to leave when Rachel came out of the bathroom and called after
him.

He turned, slipped a hand around her waist, and pulled her closer. “Rachel, aren’t you being a little clingy? Are
you jealous already?”
Rachel rolled her eyes. “Tyler, are you out of your mind? Why would I be jealous over this?”
He chuckled. “Alright then, let’s go.”
Leaning forward, he wrapped her fully in his arms. “I was only teasing. Let’s go together.”
Rachel slipped on her shoes and closed the door behind them. As they walked, she added,
“It’s not about jealousy. I just think if something really did happen to Anne, it would cause us trouble too.‘
Tyler nodded in agreement. “You’re right.”
The way he smiled gave him away. On the surface, he looked like he was agreeing, but that playful smirk
betrayed what he really thought.
It was as if he had seen through her completely.
Rachel chose to ignore it. As long as her skin was thick enough, she could pretend nothing happened.
and When they reached the hotel, the entrance was already crowded with guards and police. Yellow tape was up, bystanders were recording on their phones.
Tyler spoke briefly to an officer at the entrance. They let him through immediately, but when Rachel tried to
follow, she was stopped.
“Only one person can go in,” the officer said.
Tyler was about to protest, but Rachel stepped back from the barricade.
“You go. I’ll make a call and get her another room elsewhere.”
It seemed Anne wouldn’t be able to stay here tonight.
Tyler hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. “Alright. Be careful out here.”
“I will.”
