Chapter 735
Tyler pushed Anne aside and walked toward Rachel. His brows furrowed tightly.
“What were you thinking, coming up here when it’s so dangerous?”
Rachel quickly pulled herself together. “The police said we need to get downstairs right away so they can check
things out. It seems the killer might still be hiding somewhere in this building.”
She had already gotten some information from the people outside.
“Apparently, it was just a couple on vacation. They got into an argument. The guy thought the girl didn’t love
him, and she felt he was being unreasonable.”
It was a pretty common kind of relationship conflict.
Tyler turned to Anne. “Go pack up your things. Hurry.”
“Okay!”
Anne, already scared, rushed inside to pack.
Rachel stayed outside with Tyler, her eyes scanning the people coming and going.
The police had said the killer was still in the building. Knowing someone had been attacked without knowing
who the attacker was only made things more unsettling.
They had to stay on guard because in a crowd like this, anyone could be the killer.
Meanwhile, the police were checking everyone. Nobody in the hotel was allowed to move around freely; even
newcomers from outside had to go through questioning before being cleared.
Tyler frowned at Rachel, his deep voice carrying both displeasure and a hint of concern that was hard to miss.
“Didn’t I tell you not to come up here? What would you do if you ran into the killer? Do you think you’d stand a
chance in close combat with him?”
Rachel snorted. “Oh, I see. You’re more worried I’ll ruin your good time with Anne. I’m sure she could really use the comfort of your warm embrace right now.”
She even poked him in the chest with a finger as she spoke.
