Chapter 747

Rachel headed toward the beach while Tyler went in the direction of the park. After all, those were the two places most people would run off to hide.

As she walked, Rachel kept calling out Anne’s name.

“Ms. Charlton!”

Just as she turned her head, she spotted Anne. Rachel was about to go over when she noticed several men

surrounding Anne.

“Hey babe, come hang out with us.”

“Yeah! Don’t be by yourself, it’s boring. Come have some fun with us.’

Anne had never been caught in a situation like this before, especially at night. Fear took over, making her back

away with a terrified look on her face.

“W-Who are you? Get lost! I don’t even know you.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t know us. You’ll get to know us real soon. You’re not from around here, are you?

All alone?”

“What, did your boyfriend ditch you? Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of guys here. We can keep you company.”

Anne shoved at the lecherous hands reaching toward her, trying to warn them off.

“Don’t you dare! I have a boyfriend. He just went to buy water. If you lay a hand on me, he’ll make you regret

it!”

One of them clicked his tongue and mocked her.

“Babe, you don’t even know how to lie properly. I can tell right away you don’t have a boyfriend. Quit acting

tough.”

“Come on. We’ll show you a good time. We’re fun guys, you’ll see.”

A couple of them reached for Anne, holding her so tightly she couldn’t move.

“Let me go! Help! Somebody help me!”

Rachel saw what was happening and instinctively wanted to charge in, but Tyler’s warning flashed through her mind. She quickly pulled out her phone and shared her location with him.

[Urgent.]

She then pocketed the phone and took big strides toward Anne.

“Let her go!”

Anne’s eyes widened in shock when she recognized Rachel. “Why are you here?”

Rachel gave Anne a quick once-over to make sure she wasn’t hurt, then snapped at the men, “I already called

the police. If you don’t want to spend the night in jail, let her go

now!”

Normally, just the mention of the cops would’ve been enough to scare people into backing off. But instead of

panicking, the men only laughed louder.

“The police? Lady, do you think this is your home turf?”

“That’s right. Let me tell you, Sawyer’s relative works at the station. With him around, the cops won’t touch us

over something like this,”

Rachel frowned, her gut sinking. No wonder these guys had the nerve to harass women so openly. They had

someone backing them.

This was bad!

She went straight up to pull Anne away, but one of the men yanked her arm. His voice was sleazy and sarcastic.
