Tyler’s words made Anne fall silent.
That was truly what she thought before. She didn’t want to bring trouble upon herself, especially since the other party seemed way more influential and powerful than her side. They would only lose out if they were to clash with them head–on.
But no matter the outcome, Anne would still do the same. Tyler’s words triggered something inside her. She choked back tears and said, “Of course, that’s what you guys would say! You’re never alone. Even if Rachel got assaulted, she’d be resilient because you’re backing her up.”
Anne started sobbing.
“What’s the point of telling me all this? Do you think I don’t want to be tough before those men? I need to have what it takes to do that!”
Tyler, not bothered to mince his words, said blatantly, “If that’s what you think, let me make this clear to you. Even if I weren’t here to back her up today, Rachel would never be as cowardly as you were. She’d find a way to solve the problem.”
Rachel subconsciously turned to look at Tyler, a small smile on her face and a look of approval in her eyes.
Tyler had taken the words from her mouth.
She turned to look at Anne.

“You have to believe in yourself. That situation wasn’t a dead end. Shortform videos are the trend right now, people fear seeing their wicked deeds exposed on social media. Once their wrongdoings are shown to the world, trouble will start knocking on their doors. If it were you, would you rather give up on your prey now or risk inviting more trouble down the road?”
There was determination in her eyes, and her voice was firm.
“We’re not asking you to do things the same way as we do, but you shouldn’t let a bastard like him go unpunished, even if not for your own sake.”
No matter how cold or unfeeling the world was, Rachel always believed in herself and would never take something lying down.
The world might be cold, but she was warm and passionate.
Rachel and Tyler’s words struck Anne in the heart. She sat stunned, unable to recover for a long time.
When they returned to their hotel, Tyler and Rachel walked Anne back to her room. Instead of blaming Anne, Rachel comforted her.
“Too many things have happened today. Don’t take it to heart. Have a good rest, and we can talk about everything else tomorrow.”
Anne didn’t look too good. She took a deep breath, her eyes cold and sullen.

“I’m very sorry about what happened today, but please also respect me for doing things my own way. Everyone has their own methods. Between dragging myself through the mud and self–preservation, I naturally chose the latter. I don’t want to cause trouble that I can’t resolve for the sake of acting tough.”
Rachel didn’t argue further. “We can understand that. Don’t worry, let’s consider this chapter closed. None of us is blaming you for what happened.”
“Thank you, but given your condition, I think you’d better return to the hospital for an IV drip, lest it worsens. It’ll only make me feel more guilty.”
Putting everything else aside, Anne had to admit that it was Rachel who saved her life.
Rachel nodded. “Don’t worry about me.”
After Anne shut her door, Rachel turned to say to Tyler, “Go on back to your room.”
“We’ll go to the hospital first. You need to be hooked onto the drip again.”
The tone in Tyler’s voice told Rachel that he wouldn’t take no for an answer. That was how it is with Tyler and the way he did things–he never gave the other party a chance to reject him.
