Chapter 777
They were his family, and it was hard for him to cut ties with them. To ask Tyler to give up on something like that was a difficult request..
Yet, he did exactly that and extricated himself from that mess.
That was what Rachel admired the most. Not everyone was capable of doing that.
Tyler could understand Rachel’s thinking and respected her for it. He rubbed her shoulders affectionately.
“I can understand. Don’t worry.”
Rachel’s furrowed brows finally unravelled. She could feel the barriers of her heart lowering She leaned into his embrace and wrapped her arms around his waist. Taking in his scent always had the effect of calming her.
A moment later, Yale walked in. This time, he was very careful not to interrupt them and instead turned around to leave.
To his surprise, Rachel called out to him.
“Yale.”
Yale stopped in his tracks and turned to face Rachel. Given what had happened before, he took the initiative to explain himself. “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
Rachel smiled. “I know, it’s fine. I just wanted to ask, have you booked the flight tickets?”
“Yes, I have. But not for Ms. Charlton. I don’t have her identity documents.”
Tyler turned around, too. “Don’t bother booking a ticket for her. She probably won’t be able to make it back in the short term.”
“Yes, Mr. Hunt.”
Yale could guess what had happened. He walked toward them.
“Mr. Hunt, I have something to say. When I looked into Sawyer before, I had my doubts about Ms. Charlton. But everything happened in such a rush, I didn’t have time to tell you about it.
“Now that I think about it, there are clues. Someone often came knocking on Ms. Charlton’s door at night. I checked the surveillance footage, but she’s always very secretive. I also noticed that it’s a woman, but I didn’t put two and two together.”
Tyler’s eyes dimmed, his voice turning menacing as he said, “What did I tell you? No matter what, you have to report to me if you received any new information!”
The air in the corridor froze as Yale stiffened. His hands, holding a folder, started trembling as he saw Tyler’s jawline tensing.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Hunt! This was my fault! I’ll write a reflection report on this once I return to the office.”
“Scram!”

Tyler’s yell sent Yale scrambling out of the corridor.
Rachel seldom saw Tyler flare up so badly, although he usually had a bad temper.
She said comfortingly, “Don’t blame him. He has so much on his hands, it’s understandable that he didn’t have the capacity to look into such details.”
