Rowan took a moment to register what Tyler wanted, then handed the papers. While Tyler scanned the documents, Rowan tried to sneak a peek at the woman on Tyler’s phone.

Before he could, Tyler either sensed it or reacted on instinct and slammed the phone face–down on the desk. Rowan quickly looked away in embarrassment.

That was how precious Tyler treated her. Rowan couldn’t even glance at her.

Tyler tapped his pen against the page. The sound made Rowan break out in a cold sweat.

“Page 17,” Tyler said at last.

His voice had gone cold.

“Eastvale Territory’s market–share projections are calculated using consumer data from three years ago.” He jabbed the pen down on the line of numbers. “Do they think Northshire’s growth is dead, or are they underestimating me?”

Rowan’s reply was soft. “They said it was checked.‘

“The quarterly report released last week shows upscale device penetration in Eastvale Territory rose by 12 percent year on year, and yet this proposal sets the growth at five percent.”

Tyler shoved the paper forward. The edge scraped loudly across the desk.

“Are they trying to leave a lifeline for our competitors, or do they think LS Enterprise isn’t a threat anymore?”
