When Rachel headed to the hospital and entered the ward, she saw tubes sticking everywhere out of Cecilia’s body. There was even a needle on the back of her hand.

Rachel hated seeing something like this. Her entire body was shaking as she approached Cecilia.

“Cecilia…”

Cecilia flashed her a comforting smile. “You’re here. I heard from Yale that Mr. Ziegler just passed away. Did his relatives make things difficult for you when you two were there?”

Cecilia was still trying to comfort Rachel amidst her pain and suffering.

“You’re such a worrywart. You should be thinking more about yourself at a time like this. Don’t bother yourself with my affairs. I’m telling you, Dr. Elias is very skilled. Don’t underestimate what he’s capable of.”

Cecilia nodded. “I know. Dr. Elias is famous in his field, and I heard of his name a few years ago. He just happened to stop practising over the past few years.”

Rachel tucked the sheets tighter around Cecilia and said tenderly, “Don’t think about anything else and just focus on the treatment. As for your children, I’ll hire two nannies to take care of them. If you want to see them, I’ll bring them here. Whatever it is, just take care of yourself right now.”

Tears welled up in Cecilia’s eyes at Rachel’s reassurance.

“Rachel, I… I really don’t know how else to thank you. You’ve helped me out so much.”

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that without Rachel’s help, Cecilia would have died a long time ago and wouldn’t have survived till now.

“Alright now, there’s no need to stand on ceremony with me. You helped me out many times at Lewis Enterprise. Each time I was on the verge of puking while entertaining clients, you’d always hop in to help me with it. That was how I managed to clinch so many deals and establish my presence in the company,” Rachel said.

She could remember it as though it happened yesterday.

Once, Cecilia helped her drink so much that she started bleeding in her stomach. If Cecilia hadn’t been sent to the hospital in time, she would have been a goner.

Rachel would remember what Cecilia did for her for the rest of her life.

“There’s no need to say such things between us,” Cecilia said with a smile.

“So don’t think too much and focus on your treatment. I’ll head out to talk to Dr. Elias for a while,”

She looked up and tilted her chin at Elias, who also had something to say to her.

They walked out to the corridor.

Rachel’s face was dark and heavy as she took a deep breath. “Dr. Elias, tell me the truth. Is Cecilia’s condition not looking good?”

Elias nodded grimly. “Her condition was diagnosed too late, and she probably realizes it herself. That’s why she kept delaying things and refusing to go to the hospital for treatment.”

Rachel was trembling all over, her heart clenching with pain.

“What should we do now? Does she still stand a chance? Dr. Elias, no matter how much money or effort is required, I’m willing to do anything as long as you can save Cecilia.”

Elias comforted Rachel, “Ms. Lloyd, don’t panic. We’ll first operate on her before sending her for chemotherapy sessions. We’ll use medicine imported from overseas. I’ll be discussing the most optimal treatment plan for her with the doctors here.”

Rachel felt better with Elias‘ reassurance.

“Thank you so much.”

Meanwhile, Tyler rushed to the hospital to see Thomas. As he hurried over to the ward, he saw William huddled over by Thomas‘ bedside.

William heard something at the door and turned to see Tyler. He stood up.
