Chapter 878
Rachel thought about taking a hangover pill lest the potential business partner try to make her drink.
On second thought, Mark had always been reliable despite his careless and casual demeanor. Since she had asked him not to introduce a business partner who would make her drink, she was confident that he wouldn’t.
Rachel put the pill down and left.
When she arrived at Moon & Barrel, she spotted the business partner Mark had introduced her to.
He was Michael Johnson, the CEO of Achieve Enterprise.
“Ms. Lloyd, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” Michael said as he stretched a hand. “Mark has mentioned you to me a few times and said that you made Lloyd Enterprise rise from the ashes. I’m glad to be able to finally meet you after so long.”
Rachel stood up and shook his hand.
“You’re too kind, Mr. Johnson. This is an idea I came up with before, which is a great match for your smart tourism project. It features intangible cultural heritage education, passing valuable culture down to the next generation. It complements well with your green energy project.”
Michael took the proposal from Rachel, but wasn’t in a rush to flip through it. Instead, he asked a waiter for a menu to order some dishes.
During their meal, Michael took some time to read through the proposal and occasionally looked up at Rachel to ask about some details.
“Your proposal seems very beneficial to our company. Conversely, it doesn’t seem to earn much for you.”
Rachel smiled awkwardly. “To be honest, I’ve come into some trouble recently and am in urgent need of money. Closing deals right now is pertinent for me.”
Michael nodded with a pensive look. “I see. Thank you for being honest with me, or I would suspect something fishy is going on. As business partners, everyone wants to earn more money. It’s rare to see a proposal promising small profits but a quick turnover.”
“Everything is fine as long as there are no issues with the proposal-”
Mid–sentence, Rachel felt a familiar churn in her stomach and clutched her lower abdomen. Her face turned pale.
Even Michael noticed, and he quickly put the proposal down.
“Ms. Lloyd, do you feel unwell? Do you need some rest?”
“No need. It’s probably because I didn’t eat breakfast this morning. So sorry, I’ve embarrassed myself. To be honest, due to an oversight, I caused my overseas headquarters to lose two hundred million dollars, which they’re demanding I compensate for. Mr. Johnson, if you find this proposal acceptable, we can discuss the details. As for the funding…”

“Funding is not an issue,” Michael said, cutting her off and saying crisply, “Achieve Enterprise has an investment budget for smart tourism. The philosophy of your proposal is a great match with our strategy.”
He picked up a pen and circled some parts of the proposal.
“But I do have one condition. You’ll have to personally lead the team for me to feel reassured.”
Rachel looked up at him in disbelief, joy filling her eyes.
She had thought it might be tricky to close this deal. From her previous experiences, potential business partners would always try to make things difficult before actually signing the contract.
