Xavier looked at Tyler in disbelief.

“Your girlfriend’s been pregnant for a month! How did you not notice?”

Tyler froze for a few seconds, then looked at Xavier in stunned silence.

“Are you saying Rachel has been pregnant for a month? Are you serious?”

Xavier was genuinely happy for him. “Of course. The report’s right here. You can check it yourself.”

Tyler took the medical report with trembling hands. He was still in disbelief that he was going to be a father. All this time, he had been caught up in thinking Rachel didn’t really want to marry him. He’d come up with countless reasons, but he never imagined this could happen.

It was like all the fog had suddenly cleared. At that instant, everything made sense. Tyler now understood why Rachel had hesitated about marriage at first. –

He had already heard from William that when Rachel was working overseas, she had secretly moved four projects over to his company. Her boss, Hannah, had found out.

And so, Rachel ended up saddled with a large debt.

Tyler knew Rachel too well. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to marry him. Instead, it was because she was afraid if they got married, that massive debt would automatically fall on his shoulders.

She didn’t want to burden him, especially when his company was still going through turbulent times.

The thought made Tyler’s heart ache. He had no idea that all this time, she had been carrying so much pressure

on her own.

Yet, she never breathed a word of it to him.

Just then, Rachel walked out of the consultation room. The moment her eyes met Tyler’s, she felt mixed

emotions.

She pursed her lips together, gathered her courage, and walked to him. Her gaze shifted to the report in his hands.

“Y–You already know.”

Tyler raised a brow and said softly, “What did you expect, Rachel? Were you planning to keep this from me? Before you even consider that, let me remind you that I’m the father of our child. No matter what decisions you’re making, I have a say in them. From now on, whatever you do, you talk it over with me first. Got it?”

Rachel hadn’t really wanted Tyler to know yet, but now, it was impossible to hide it any longer.

She lowered her head.

“About those business dinners, I suppose William has already told you everything.”
