Chapter 901
Rachel took a deep breath, brought the pork to Tyler’s mouth, and whispered, “H–Honey.”
Tyler seemed satisfied. He pinched her cheek.
“You’re the best, honey. Eat up.”
Rachel barely had an appetite. Her cheeks felt like they might burst into flames.
Still, she noticed the crowd had stopped staring. Puzzled, she looked up at Tyler.
“How did you know that the moment I called you honey, they’d stop looking?”
“Once everyone knows we’re legally married, they don’t have a chance, no matter what they think.”
Only then did Rachel catch Tyler’s real intention. She scoffed.
“Of course. You’re as cunning as ever.”
She wasn’t going to win this one.
After eating the pork, Tyler leaned back in a relaxed manner.
“Alright, should we go over your little secret now?”
Rachel paused mid–bite. She realized he was ready to settle things. He had been holding back since they were at the cafe and was finally going to confront her.
She put down her fork and came clean.
“I did hide it from you. I didn’t actually go to Cecilia’s place. She was just covering for me.”
Tyler smiled. He gently smacked the table with his palm.
“Okay. You’re honest enough. But do you know why you didn’t get exposed sooner and why you managed to keep this from me so long?”
Rachel blinked. “I don’t.”
Tyler explained the phone call with Cecilia. Rachel realized that if Yale hadn’t gone to Tyler with something urgent, he would’ve found out right away.
She sighed and rubbed her forehead. She had planned everything except that Tyler might turn up at this meeting.
Fate, apparently, had other ideas.
She couldn’t help but ask, “How did you even know Chris? I don’t think he had any ties to your company.”
“He didn’t, but Jason knows his boss.”
Now, everything made sense. The whole thing really did feel fated.
