Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 803

Yvonne’s Perspective

Yvonne and Chloe had turned Dan’s place completely upside down, but no matter what chaos they caused, Dan wouldn’t let them leave.

To put it plainly… Dan just wanted Yvonne to sign the divorce papers with Xander.

Chloe sighed, “I’ve tried. No way out.”

It sounded a little regretful. Usually, when they wanted to go anywhere, nothing could stop them. But Dan had turned this place into Fort Knox just to keep Yvonne locked in.

Yvonne patted her chest, looking a bit pale. Chloe noticed immediately. “What’s wrong with you?”

Yvonne grimaced. “Just a little nauseous. That jerk’s blood stinks to high heaven.”

Blood wasn’t exactly new to Yvonne—she’d seen plenty over the years. But Dan’s blood? Something about it had her dry-heaving in the bathroom earlier. She’d nearly thrown up her guts.

Chloe just stared. “I don’t get it. Blood smells like blood to me.”

Yvonne waved her off, still queasy.

Chloe changed the subject. “Anyway, I looked everywhere for Susanna. Not a single trace. She must be locked up somewhere else.”

Just the mention of Susanna made Yvonne want to punch Dan all over again.

Chloe pondered for a moment. “Hey, what if it wasn’t Dan who took her?”

Yvonne’s eyes narrowed. “If not Dan, then who else would stoop that low?”

Honestly, Yvonne kind of hoped it was Dan—because if it wasn’t, things could get a whole lot messier.

She glanced at Chloe. “You think maybe one of my enemies did it?”

God, please no. If it was her enemies, it’d be a whole new level of trouble.

Yvonne felt herself going numb just thinking about it.

Yvonne shook her head. “Hull’s not that kind of guy. If he wants something, he comes right out and says it—even if it means showing up at your door with a marching band. He’d never do something so… shady.”

Chloe rolled her eyes. “Well, maybe you should test him anyway. Trust no one, right?”

After searching every inch of Dan’s place—even the creepy dungeon-like basement—and finding nothing, Chloe was starting to doubt everything.

Yvonne nodded. “Fine. I’ll call him.”

She grabbed her phone and dialed Hull’s number.

...

Meanwhile, on the other end of the line, Hull was holding Susanna—unconscious, face flushed, peacefully asleep in his arms. She looked so serene, it was almost contagious.

Hull had never felt anything quite like this.
