Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 807

No one really knew what Xander and Dan had talked about.

Yvonne and Chloe were still trying to figure out what kind of enemies Dan had made, when suddenly—BOOM! Another one of the cottages nearby exploded and collapsed in a cloud of dust.

Yvonne’s lips twitched. “Jeez, you don’t think this is some crazy love triangle revenge thing, do you?”

Chloe glanced at her, confused. Love triangle? Whose wife got stolen…?

Before she could say anything, Yvonne kept going, “Dan, that jerk—he’s always acted like such a saint. What if he’s been running around stealing other guys’ wives all these years?”

If that was the case… She cringed inwardly. Had she been completely blind back then? To actually fall for someone like that.

Chloe just shrugged. “No idea.”

Honestly, they hadn’t even known Dan was still alive until recently—how could they know what kind of drama he was stirring up in Litamark now?

But looking at the situation now… one explosion after another, the whole thing reeked of a man pushed over the edge by love and jealousy. Nobody goes to these lengths unless they’re absolutely furious.

Suddenly, another blast shook a different building.

Yvonne jumped. “What the—?!”

Was Dan’s HQ built out of cardboard or something? How did someone sneak in and plant this many bombs?

“We need to get out of here. Like, now.”

If they stuck around any longer, they might be next. It was getting way too dangerous.

Being around Dan was starting to feel like a game of tag with the Grim Reaper.

The whole estate was in chaos.

Yvonne and Chloe wasted no time slipping away.

As they hurried out, Yvonne whispered, “You’re sure Susie’s not here, right?”

Chloe nodded. “Relax, I checked everywhere myself.”

Dan’s people thought they had Chloe on lockdown. Little did they know, she’d already searched every inch of the mansion during the dead of night.

With no sign of Susanna, Yvonne didn’t hesitate. She just ran.

Still, where the hell was Susanna? Yvonne’s head was pounding.

——

Dan’s castle was a mess. No one was paying any attention to Yvonne now.

“Do you always have to sneak up on people like that?” she grumbled.

She was tiny, and with Hull holding her, she was completely swallowed by his shadow.

“Do you like kids?” he asked.

“I—” Susanna started.

Hull cut her off. “Not yet, you can’t.”

“Wait, what?” She sputtered. “Who said anything about having kids? I still feel like a kid myself!”

“Then why not now?” she demanded, suddenly flustered by her own question. Had she really just said that out loud?

Hull just said quietly, “We have to head to Black Gate.”

“Really?” Susanna spun to face him, eyes wide, searching his face for any sign he was lying.

He nodded. “Yeah.”

“But why now?” she pressed.

Hull just gave her that unreadable look of his…
