Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 808

Why so sudden?

When Susanna heard the question, she looked at Hull with a worried gaze.

He noticed the way she looked at him, a flicker of concern showing in his eyes.

Susanna caught it instantly, her heart skipping a beat. “Did something happen to my mom?”

Her voice was tight, her nerves shot through with panic.

Hull frowned.

Susanna pressed, “Tell me. Did something happen to my mom?”

Now she was truly frantic, her worst fears clawing at her.

Hull reached out and took her cold hand in his.

“This morning, on her way to the Elders’ Council at Black Gate, your mom and Lincoln disappeared.”

Susanna stared at him, frozen.

“Disappeared?” she echoed numbly.

“Yeah. That’s why we need to go check it out.”

Lincoln was one of his most trusted people. If even Lincoln had gone radio silent, Hull knew this was no small matter.

Susanna rushed to grab her coat. “Then let’s go. Now.”

The news about her mom had her barely able to stand still—she just wanted to get to Black Gate, fast.

So, just like that, Susanna was on her way back to Black Gate—a place she’d never had good feelings about, not since she first heard of it.

Meanwhile—

Yvonne, who was supposed to be making a break for it, suddenly veered off course as they neared the gates and started climbing the wall.

Chloe hissed, “What are you doing? We need to get out of here!”

No one had spotted them yet. It was the perfect moment to escape.

As for Dan, there’d be plenty of time for payback later. Now was the time to run, at least as far as Chloe was concerned.

Yvonne shook her off. “Wait a sec. I want to see who’s got the guts to take Dan down this time.”

This was Litamark, after all.

He was smiling, but everyone could feel the threat in the air. If Dan said one wrong word, the place would blow again.

Dan glared at Xander, voice low and menacing. “You’d better back off. I swear, you won’t make it out of Litamark alive if you keep this up.”

The words barely left his mouth before Xander fired a shot into the air. Another explosion rocked the mansion.

Dan was speechless, jaw clenched.

Yvonne, watching from the wall, felt her heart leap as another blast echoed in the distance.

Thank God Dan’s damn mansion was massive—otherwise, she’d be toast right now.

Xander’s voice cut through the chaos, smooth and unhurried. “So, are you going to bring my wife out here yourself, or should I come in and fetch her?”

His tone was calm, almost gentle.

But in that calm, everyone could sense the steel.

Chloe had scrambled up next to Yvonne, both of them gawking at the scene below.

Especially at Xander, who delivered threats like he was discussing the weather.

Chloe couldn’t help but whisper, “Damn, Mr. Schultz really is something else.”
