Athena ignored it, keeping her stride steady and forward.

Tyler was already frustrated, and now his temper was boiling over.

"Athena!"

He called out, jumping out of the car and grabbing her arm.

"Are you doing this on purpose?"

Her phone was off, and here she was, wandering down the road like she had a death wish.

Athena's own temper flared, and she shook his hand off with a swift motion.

"Leave me alone."

He was used to her being so compliant, never expecting her to have a temper of her own.

"Fine, you think I want to deal with this?"

He was about to storm back to the car when he saw Athena continuing her way down the hill, and suddenly his anger evaporated into thin air.

"Hey, what's going on with you tonight? Bad day?"

Athena's mind was a whirlwind, any thought of Kerwin pushed everything else to the side.

Tyler followed her in the car, headlights illuminating her path, occasionally pulling up beside her to keep talking.

"You know, you really need to work on that stubborn streak. I don't like women who are so headstrong."

Athena stopped in her tracks, turning to face him.

That little mole on the tip of his nose was so distinct, and looking at Tyler, she saw both roughness and tenderness.

Her eyes reddened for a moment, and through the open window, she reached out, tracing her finger over that mole.

Tyler felt a swell of satisfaction—she really did care.

His lips curved into a smile, "Alright, enough with the attitude. Get in the car and come back with me. No need to give people something to gossip about."

"I don't want to go back."

Tyler thought he’d been patient enough tonight, but she was still being difficult.

"What do you want from me, Athena? My patience isn't limitless."
