He was distracted, barely aware that the mood in the private lounge had shifted. Someone was trying to catch his eye, subtly signaling something, but he couldn’t decipher what they meant—at least not until Athena’s voice rang out behind him.
“Fifteen million dollars might not mean much to you, but that’s no excuse to just hand out that watch to someone else.”
Tyler froze, stunned. He whipped around and realized Athena had slipped into the lounge at some point, now standing directly behind him.
Did she hear everything he just said?
“Athena…”
He barely managed her name before shoving the woman beside him away.
Athena stared at him silently. The more she kept her composure, the more cold sweat prickled down Tyler’s back.
He had never felt this guilty in his life. Desperate, he reached for Athena’s hand.
Her eyes were rimmed red—especially when she glimpsed the watch, her watch, gleaming on another woman’s wrist. The humiliation crashed over her like a wave.
If it had been Kerwin, he never would have let her suffer like this.
Kerwin…
How could she ever have let Tyler stand in for Kerwin? He wasn’t anything like him.
Athena leaned forward, grabbed a glass from the table, and doused Tyler with water.
The room fell into an uneasy hush. No one dared speak.
Tyler was infamous for his wild ways, always treating women as disposable. Yet now, right in front of everyone, his pampered canary had humiliated him, leaving him speechless.
He snatched some napkins and dabbed at his face, but the woman beside him leapt to her feet, her anger flaring. Without hesitation, she slapped Athena.
Athena’s head snapped to the side, and in her peripheral vision, she saw the watch on the woman’s wrist. She reached to rip it off.
The woman shrieked and shoved Athena hard.
“What’s your problem? Tyler gave this to me! Do you even know who Tyler is? You’re just a B-list actress—don’t expect to last long in this business.”
Athena tumbled to the floor, her gaze fixed on the watch.
Only then did Tyler snap out of it and rush to help her up.
For once, the man who could talk his way out of anything was utterly lost for words.
Everything happened too fast—he hadn’t even tried to stop it.
Athena slapped his hand away, her revulsion plain.
Absolutely disgusting.
She rose slowly, turned on her heel, and strode toward the exit.
“Athena!”

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
