Tyler sat right there on the ground, not bothering to brush off the dust that clung to his fine suit. He didn’t get up immediately, just stayed perched on the top step, lost in thought.
Athena reached out to help him, but he pulled away.
“Athena, look at the moon tonight.”
She glanced up. The moon was bright and clear, the kind of night that promised good weather tomorrow.
She stayed silent, and Tyler’s tone grew suddenly cautious.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you like it? Your name means ‘goddess of the moon’—I thought…”
Before he could finish, Athena turned on her heel and walked off.
Panic flashed across Tyler’s face as he scrambled after her, but he’d had too much to drink. Still tipsy, he misjudged his step and tumbled down the stone stairs, rolling all the way to the bottom.
Athena had known Tyler for years, but she’d never seen him so utterly disheveled. His suit was filthy, and when he tried to get up at her feet, he winced and struggled, clearly hurt. He tried several times to stand, but his leg just wouldn’t cooperate.
The sharp pain finally sobered him up. For the first time that night, he realized this wasn’t some drunken dream—Athena was really here.
Her voice softened. No matter how upset she was, Athena couldn’t bring herself to be cruel to someone so badly hurt—not even a stranger.
“Come on. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Tyler didn’t argue. He followed quietly, doing whatever she said.
While the doctor cleaned and dressed his wounds, Tyler clung to Athena’s hand, refusing to let go, as if convinced she’d vanish the moment he released her.
Athena turned to the doctor and asked, “How long will he need to rest?”
“About two weeks,” the doctor replied. “He’ll need crutches for the first few days.”
Athena went to buy the crutches. When she returned to the hospital room, Tyler was staring out the window, lost in thought. He seemed like a different person from the man she used to know.
She set the crutches beside his bed. “Here. Use these. If it’s too hard to manage, have one of your friends come look after you.”
“Athena.”
She paused. “Yeah?”
“Why don’t you go find Kerwin?”

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
