“What did you do to Teresa this time?” Jonathan asked.
trene froze for a second. Hearing that familiarity tone, she glanced down at her phone and found the call had connected. She was v malé lat. guard.
“Jonathan? Why are you calling me out of the blue?” trens blurted out.
“Didn’t you call me first? Are you with Teresa right now?” Jonathan pressed.
“No, you’ve got it all wrong. I’m not with Teresa. I’m just out shopping.” Irene hurried to explain.
“Then why did 1 hear Teresa’s voice? She said she wouldn’t give you a chance to hurt the baby. What’s that supposed to means” Jonathan pressed, his tone sharp.
Irene stammered. Before she could finish, a nurse rushed in and apologized, “Ms. Johnston, we have two critical patients with severe
bleeding who need beds here. Would it be alright to move you to a room downstairs instead?”
Upon hearing the word “patient“, Jonathan sprang to his feet, unable to hold back any longer, although he was in the middle of a bakiness meeting. He pressed, “Is Teresa in the hospital?”
Realizing she couldn’t hide it anymore, Irene stammered, “She fainted on the street. I called 911 and got her to the hospital. She could’ve
died if I hadn’t.”
“Which hospital is she in? Send me the location,” Jonathan demanded.
After hanging up, Jonathan quickly explained the situation to his business partner.
“I’m sorry, but my wife’s not feeling well. I need to go take care of her right away,” he said, his voice urgent.
Seeing Jonathan’s urgency, Bobby quickly took charge. Jonathan instructed him to call the company’s vice president to handle the rest of
the business matters.
Then, Jonathan rushed out of the meeting and hopped into the car, telling the driver to hurry.
Back at the hospital, Irene hung up and turned on Teresa, still fuming. “Jonathan heard every word. He’s on his way here to see you. Happy
now?” she sneered.
Teresa couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re the one who called him. If he heard us, that’s on you. What does it have to do with me?” she said.
Irene pointed a finger at Teresa, her voice sharp. “Listen, if you dare say anything to him, I’ll take Mike away from you and bring him to live
with me.”
Teresa’s calm expression instantly changed. She shot back without hesitation, “If you even think about touching Michael, I’ll get rid of this baby right now. By the way, it’s another boy.”
Irene stared at Teresa’s belly and said loudly, “If you dare abort my grandson, I’ll make you pay for it.”
“Madam, why are you yelling at your daughter–in–law?” The attending doctor said as he walked in and looked sternly at Irene. “She can’t take any more emotional stress. She needs to rest.”
In front of the doctor, Irene swallowed her anger and backed down. “Teresa, you just wait,” she spat out.
