Chapter 898
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Jonathan spotted Michael huddled in the corner. “Mr. Baddy Lime, you’re here. I’ve been waiting for your Lich
exclaimed.
Jonathan scooped him up, feeling a bit pleased. ‘Why is he waiting for me?‘ Jonathan wondered.
“I saw your car. You’re here to pick me and Mom up, right?” Michael asked.
“Of course,” Jonathan replied, carrying Michael inside.
Jennifer opened the door and blocked the entrance. “Why are you here again? Don’t you think your mom’s already causing enough drama?”
Jonathan ignored Jennifer, his gaze landing on Teresa, who was standing behind her. “I need to talk to you alorie,” Jonathan said.
Jennifer was just about to say no, but Teresa stopped her. “I’ll talk to him alone,” Teresa said.
“Come to my room,” Teresa said, glancing at Jonathan.
Once the door was closed, Jonathan sat down on her bed, legs casually crossed. Teresa asked, “What’s wrong with your mom today?”
Jonathan replied, “She caught a cold. She won’t be showing up to bother you anytime soon. I want you to come back with me.”
Teresa fell silent. Jonathan repeated himself, “Come back with me. Things are way better at my place. If something happens to you again, I honestly can’t take that risk. Could you?”
Teresa turned her face away, a little stubborn. “It’s actually pretty good here. Jennifer used to work in the gynecology department. She can look after
me.”
“Jennifer?” Jonathan raised an eyebrow. “After all the stuff she’s pulled, there was no way I could ever trust her character.”
“Aside from tampering with the DNA test, she’s actually really professional’in everything else,” Teresa replied. Jonathan fell silent.
He lowered his handsome brows, his voice turning deep and earnest. “Just think of it as giving me a chance to make up for what I missed with the baby.
“When you were pregnant with Mike, I wasn’t able to be there for you or for his birth. I don’t want to miss it again. Once the baby’s born, I promise I won’t get involved in your life anymore.
“Once you have the baby and finish recovery, I’ll send you to Jarisburg or Eleneburg. After that, I won’t bother you again. Just cooperate for three months. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
This time, Teresa fell silent. Jonathan’s phone started ringing, but he declined the call without even glancing at it.
“I don’t care about anything else right now. If you don’t come back with me, then I’ll just sit here and wait until you agree,” Jonathan said.
Teresa raised an eyebrow and shot back. “And how is that any different from just being shameless?”
Jonathan nodded. “Then just see me as shameless. Iget where you’re coming from, but I hope you can understand how I feel as a father too. Let me do what I should for my child.”
Teresa finally gave in and agreed to go back with him.
Jennifer saw Jonathan come out of the room with his arm draped over Teresa’s shoulders. With a puzzled look, she grabbed Teresa’s wrist. “Teresa, are you really sure about going back with him?”
“Alright, Mike, let’s go,” Teresa said.
“Mom, I’ll protect you,” Michael said, strutting beside Teresa like a little knight.
