Jonathan frowned and let go of her. “Hey, what did I even say? She probably doesn’t even have time to check. She’s too busy dating.”
Teresa blinked. ‘Was he for real?‘ She thought Jonathan had to be joking.
Jonathan didn’t bother explaining any further. He tapped her on the head. “Dinner’s ready. I made you a late–night snack. Come eat something.” He brought her slippers over.
Teresa slowly got out of bed, Lucas still on her mind. “I want to go see Lucas. I’m not sure how he’s doing at Risemon World Studios. I want to visit him on set,” she said.
“Don’t make things hard for yourself. You’re in no shape to travel right now. Once the baby’s here, I’ll go with you,” Jonathan replied.
“Okay,” Teresa said. She had no choice but to put her plans on hold for now.
Michael sat in his high chair, and the three of them ate together. He rested his chin on his hand. “Mommy, why don’t you call Mr. Lime ‘honey‘ anymore?”
Jonathan nodded. “See, even Michael is asking why don’t you call me ‘honey‘?”
Teresa rolled her eyes. “Don’t push your luck.”
‘I gave you some face in front of Hayden yesterday. What, now I have to keep up the act in front of Mike too?‘ she thought.
Michael finished eating in no time and dashed out to the yard to play, with the nanny watching over him. He was already old enough for kindergarten, and they could get him enrolled whenever they wanted.
But since Teresa would be heading to Jarisburg with the new baby after giving birth, they figured it was best to let Mike enjoy a few more months of carefree days before school started.
Teresa turned to Jonathan. “We don’t have to keep pretending for Mike’s sake. I just don’t want him to feel weird or left out when we go our separate ways. Just call me by my name like you used to.”
Jonathan arched an eyebrow. “Call you by your name? Teresa?”
“Yes,” Teresa responded.
His tone deepened. “Alright, Teresa.”
Not missing a beat, Teresa shot back, “Okay, Jonathan.” Jonathan was speechless.
Just as Teresa was about to get up, she suddenly felt a cramping tightness in her belly. Jonathan immediately put down his fork. “What’s wrong? Does your stomach hurt? Are you going into labor?”
“Maybe. I’m not sure,” Teresa replied.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have made you mad. Let’s get to the hospital,” Jonathan said. His forehead was already sweating with worry.
His arms were strong and firm as he lifted her sideways, holding her tightly. Teresa’s heart skipped a beat. She saw that he was drenched in sweat. He placed her in the car, allowing her to finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Luckily, the hospital was really close by. That was exactly why Jonathan insisted Teresa move in with him. If something happened while sh Rosary Estates, like getting stuck in traffic and not being able to get to the hospital in time, he’d regret it.

The department head of gynecology gave Teresa a thorough check–up. Jonathan asked, “Doctor, how’s she doing? Is this premature labor?”
The doctor told Jonathan, “Let’s keep monitoring her for now. She’s still got ten weeks until her due date.
