“Weren’t you the one who tripped?” Teresa shot back coldly. “Just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I have to take crap from someone I don’t even know.”

Yalena’s face turned purple with rage. This was the first time she’d ever gone head–to–head with Teresa, and she never expected Tereta to have such a sharp tongue.

“You’re just acting all high and mighty because you’re pregnant. If Jonathan hadn’t invested in your company last time, you’d have gone under ages ago. Without him, you’re nothing, Teresa,”

“Oh? And what about you then?” Teresa calmly grabbed a clean towel and wiped her hands. “Why don’t you get Jonathan to invest in you? The fact that he doesn’t even give you the time of day just proves you’re not good enough.”

“Say that again-” Yalena barked.

Before she could finish, Teresa smacked Yalena’s hand away as she pointed at her.

“Don’t you dare point your filthy finger at my belly,” Teresa snapped. “Your reputation as a disgrace is all over the business world. Begging foreigners for scraps, selling out your own people–you’ve embarrassed your whole family. Don’t you think you look like a joke?”

Yalena scoffed. “You’re the real joke. Maybe if you knew your place and stopped messing with Jonathan, I wouldn’t even waste my time on you.”

Teresa suddenly got it and sneered, “No wonder Irene likes you so much. You two are birds of a feather.”

“What did you just say?” Yalena snapped.

“Am I wrong? You don’t know anything, you didn’t see anything, but the first thing out of your mouth is that I’m chasing after him. Why don’t you ever say he’s the one chasing me? Your jealousy is honestly scary.” Teresa shot back.

She crossed her arms and leaned against the sink, her tone calm and steady. The bathroom door was wide open, people were walking by outside, and there were cameras everywhere. Yalena wouldn’t dare lay a finger on her.

Just as Teresa was about to walk away, Yalena suddenly let out a mocking laugh.

She gave Teresa a vicious smile. “You say I’m jealous of you? Please, it’s obvious you’re the one jealous of me, jealous that I’m richer, that my family’s better, that I have loving parents. Your family is a mess, isn’t it?

“I heard all about it from Irene. Your mom’s already been married twice. What a shameless woman. No wonder Irene says you’re so manipulative. Like mother, like daughter-”

But before Yalena could finish, Teresa shoved her to the ground and slapped her hard across the face. Teresa just couldn’t stand anyone talking about her family. Her family was her one untouchable line.

“Didn’t anyone ever teach you to respect other people’s parents?” Teresa snapped. “Say one more word about my mom and you’ll regret it.” Yalena clenched her jaw, seething with rage.

Teresa had already walked out of the bathroom. She didn’t want to get angry, but there was no way she could hold it in. Not even during her first pregnancy had she ever felt this wronged.

Yalena, who had been pushed to the ground, got back up. ‘I can’t even outmatch a pregnant woman? This is infuriating,’ she fumed. Just then, her phone rang. “Hello,” she snapped.

“Ms. Kelly, we’ve got some news. Teresa’s brother, Lucas, is filming at Risemon World Studios. He’s been getting bullied by his co–star. rere’s a photo of him now,” the voice on the other end said.

Yalena glanced at the photo of Lucas’s profile and snorted, ‘He’s actually kind of handsome, huh! She had to admit, Teresa and her family really did have

some looks in the family.
