“Yes, that’s me. Are you Mrs. Nelson’s grandson?”

“We’re always so busy with work that we barely get a chance to visit. But every time we do, Grandma tells us all about you. Thank you for keeping her company these past couple of years. It really means a lot.”

He paused, then offered, “Since we ran into each other, why don’t you join us for dinner tonight? On behalf of my grandmother, I’d like to say thank you properly.”

Emmy was about to turn him down with a smile. She never expected anything in return for volunteering.

But before she could say anything, the man was already speaking to his assistant.

“Call the Pearl Club and let them know I’m hosting a special guest tonight. Reserve the best table.”
