Gunfire burst from the shadows, pinning down Claudia’s mercenaries with ruthless precision. Sparks flew as bullets tore through the dark, rattling against the private jet and armored SUVs—million-dollar machines shredded in seconds.

A few mercenaries ducked behind the vehicles, barely returning fire. Up ahead, a group of agile fighters hid behind a bulletproof truck, their shots fierce and perfectly synchronized.

“My hand! Oh God, my hand!” Cooper’s screams cut through the chaos. He was on the ground, clutching his mangled right hand, rolling around in agony. The sound was almost inhuman.

Claudia didn’t even look at him. Her eyes locked onto the diamonds and jewels scattered across the tarmac. In the middle of all that glitter, a handful of black USB drives glinted under the harsh lights.

That was it.

She waited for the slightest pause, then dove forward, snatching up the USB drives and squeezing them tight in her palm. There was no way she’d make it up the boarding stairs now. Without missing a beat, she scrambled behind one of the plane’s giant tires, barely catching her breath.

“Claudia! Claudia!” Cooper crawled after her, blood streaming from his hand, his voice shaking. “What do we do now? Can I still get out of here?”

Claudia glanced at him, her anger boiling over. “You’re useless,” she snapped, voice low and dangerous. “How should I know what to do? We’re done for. And it’s all your fault—I wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for you!”

Cooper, desperate and filthy, grabbed the hem of her dress. “No, please! You have to get me out! Court’s in two days—if I don’t run, I’ll go to jail for life!”

Claudia tightened her grip on the USBs. A cold, cruel smile tugged at her lips. She had what she wanted. Cooper was nothing now.

“Whether you live or die has nothing to do with me.”

She kicked him hard in the chest, sending him sprawling onto his back. “You’re dead weight. Don’t drag me down with you.”

Turning to her mercenaries, she barked, “Stop shooting! Tell them I’ll hand over Cooper. They stop shooting, he’s theirs!”
