“What do you think of this place?” Aiden asked nervously.

Paloma withdrew her gaze, her eyes calm. “It’s alright, but it’s not as bustling as Lunova.”

‘So she doesn’t really like it,‘ Aiden thought to himself.

He let out a quiet sigh of relief.

“Let’s go home after we pick up Landen,” Aiden said.

“Okay,” Paloma nodded.

Her easy agreement made Aiden feel even more relieved.

As expected, the chip the Montgomery family had painstakingly developed worked wonders. The blocked memories would never come back.

“Mr. Kyle, where are we headed now?” the butler asked.

Immediately, Aiden called Edith. “Ms. Meyers, how’s Landen doing?”

“His fever’s gone, but he’s not in great shape,” Edith replied.

“Thanks for taking care of him. We’ll come pick him up now,” Aiden said.

“Okay, I’m at the Kingsley family’s place,” Edith said.

At that, Aiden’s expression darkened instantly.

“Mr. Kyle, I don’t have a place in Norava. I’ve just been staying at Amelia’s place, that’s all–there’s nothing else to it,” Edith explained.

But her explanation didn’t do much to ease Aiden’s concerns.

“Is Amelia at home?” Aiden took a deep breath and asked.

“Yes,” Edith replied.

“Alright, I’m on my way,” Aiden said.

“Okay,” Edith said.

As Aiden hadn’t seen Amelia in days, he was starting to miss her.

Anyway, Paloma was still wearing her mask and had lost her memory. As long as Amelia kept quiet, there was no way Gloria would recognize her.

Of course, Aiden was sure that Amelia wouldn’t dare reveal anything.

“Paloma, we have to make a trip to the Kingsley family’s place,” Aiden said after a moment’s thought. “You know there’s bad blood between me and them, so when we get there, don’t say or do anything. We’ll just pick up Landen and leave.”

“Okay,” Paloma nodded.

She stayed aloof and composed, as regal as ever. There wasn’t the slightest ripple in her calm eyes.

But only she knew how, stormy her heart was!

Chapter 219

At the Kingsley family’s place, Amelia nervously asked Edith, “What did he say?”

“He agreed,” Edith replied.

She put down her phone and asked worriedly, “Amelia, do you think Paloma might remember anything?”

“I don’t know,” Amelia said, shaking her head. “She’s not just lost her memory, she’s also sick. I can’t just tell her who she is. But this is the best chance for her to meet my mother–in–law.”

“Yeah, you’re right. Before the Kington Gang is taken down, they probably won’t get another chance to see each other,” Edith sighed. “Good thing you brought Landen here.”

“Didn’t you pick him up?” Amelia suddenly froze.

“What?” Edith questioned.

She was all dumbfounded.

The two of them stared at each other blankly.

Landen was still just a kid–there’s no way he could’ve flown overseas without an adult.

Neither of them had done anything, so how on earth did he get to Norava?

“Could it be Aiden?” Edith whispered, her face turning pale with anxiety.

If it was Aiden, then they were inviting a wolf into their home today.

“Don’t worry, I’ll get the bodyguards over here,” Amelia said quickly.

She immediately arranged for the bodyguards to be on standby. If Aiden made a move, they’d pin him down right away.

“Landen just woke up,” Gloria said.

She came downstairs holding Landen in her arms, her face beaming with joy.

The little boy’s arrival had, for the moment, swept away the heartache she felt over her son’s betrayal.

Hearing Gloria’s voice, Amelia and Edith could only drop the subject for now.

“Ms. Meyers, Ms. Edwards,” Landen called out sweetly.

“Landen, how did you get to Norava?” Amelia asked anxiously.

“I flew here,” Landen answered.

“I mean, who brought you over?” Amelia pressed.

Landen tilted his head, thought for a second, and said, “Uncle sent someone to pick me up.”

At this, both Amelia and Edith were stunned. ‘Is Aiden really up to something?‘ they both thought anxiously.

“Landen, Grandma Gloria bought you lots of new toys. Take a look and see if you like them,” Gloria said

“Wow, thank you, Grandma Gloria! I love all of them,” Landen said happily. “Grandma Gloria, you’re even better to me than my real grandma.”

This was the first time Landen had ever mentioned his grandma. Amelia seized the chance and asked, “Landen, is your grandma not good to you?”

“It’s not that she’s not good to me,” Landen replied. “It’s just that she’s way too strict. She’s always making me practice shooting, but I don’t like that…”

‘So the Kington Gang’s training starts from such a young age,‘ Amelia thought to herself.

“What do you like, Landen?” Gloria asked.

“I like toys, amusement parks, and kindergarten,” Landen replied.

This was what a normal kid’s life should be like.

Amelia couldn’t help ruffling Landen’s hair, her heart aching with sympathy for him.

‘Is the other half of his blood really from the Kyle family?‘ Amelia wondered.

But from what they’d found out, the Kyle family only had one son–Aiden.

‘Then who on earth is Landen’s father?‘ she thought, her mind swirling with questions.

Before Amelia could figure it out, the butter hurried in, looking anxious. “Mr. Kyle is here.”

“Let Mr. Kyle and Paloma in,” Amelia said. “Just the two of them.”

“Okay.”

With that, the butler hurried out, and immediately the whole villa was on high alert, afraid that Aiden might try to use force.

But to everyone’s surprise, Aiden came in with only Paloma.

“Mommy!” Landen shouted the moment he saw Paloma.

He dashed over to her, his face lit up with joy.

Paloma bent down and scooped Landen up. “Landen, you little rascal. You shouldn’t be bothering others like that.”

“Mommy, I was sick,” Landen whined sweetly, clinging to Paloma’s neck. “You and Uncle weren’t here, so I could only go to Ms. Meyers.”

“Clever boy,” Paloma praised him, using the moment to glance around the room.

‘Why does this place feel so familiar?

‘Could this be where I spent my childhood?

‘Is that gentle–looking woman on the sofa….really my mom?” she wondered.

She racked her brain, but no matter how hard she tried, nothing came back to her.

But an inexplicable sense of warmth and familiarity surged through her, flooding her whole being.

She just didn’t want to leave this place at all.

“Paloma, let’s go home,” Aiden said.
