Chapter 263

At the same time, Marvin suddenly collapsed.

Landon caught him just in time and hauled him off.

The emcee announced that the wedding would go on, and Kayla and Tuff returned to the wedding stage to recite their vows to each other and exchange rings.

“Mommy, I wish you and Tuff a lifetime of happiness,” Landen said, dressed up in his little suit, offering his most heartfelt blessing to his mom

He then turned to Tuff. “Tuff, you’re my father now. You have to treat my mommy well forever!”

Tuff nodded with a grin. “Of course!”

That one call of “my father” got Tuff all fired up. He took the ring and slipped it onto Kayla’s finger, then scooped Landen up in his arms and called out loudly.

“Photographer, get some great shots of the three of us! Make sure my boy looks super handsome!”

The crowd erupted into laughter and applause.

Blending in quietly among the guests, Aiden couldn’t help but let a satisfied smile tug at his lips.

‘Kayla, I hope you find true happiness, Aiden thought to himself.

‘And Landen, I hope you’ll always be happy too…‘

“Mr. Kyle, long time no see,” Henry said, sidling up with

a

sycophantic toast.

Sure, he had cut ties with Gloria’s family, but a big event like a wedding was still worth showing up for.

Today, he had witnessed Kayla’s happiness, but he also spotted a flaw–Aiden and that kid who looked eerily like Landon.

By then, Henry had given up on trying to take over Kingsley Group, but causing a little trouble for Gloria’s family was still pretty satisfying.

“Get lost! Don’t mess with me!” Aiden barked coldly.

Henry was stunned. “Mr. Kyle…”

“Open your mouth again and I’ll tear your tongue out!” Aiden’s face was stone–cold, and he clearly wasn’t joking.

Henry shrank back, slinking away awkwardly.

‘Shit, why did I have to run into such a hard–ass?‘ Henry cursed inwardly.

He would never understand just how important Kayla was to Aiden.

If Landon hadn’t stepped in to deal with Shelby and Marvin earlier, Aiden would have done it himself.

‘No one gets to mess up Kayla’s wedding!‘ Aiden swore to himself.

Once the ceremony was over, the bride and groom made their rounds, raising their glasses and toasting each guest.

Tuff and Kayla made their way over to Aiden “Aiden, thanks for coming to our wedding ceremony,” Kayla said warmly.

“Kayla, I wish you all the happiness in the world,” Aiden replied, raising his glass with a smile.

Tuff thought to himself, He tooks pretty handsome when he’s not being so intensal

“The gifts have been delivered. Kayla, you have to accept them,” Alden said.

Kayla’s eyes welled up with tears. “Okay, thanks!”

“Ahem, I’ll treat Kayla right for the rest of my life,” Tuff said, clearing his throat to show he meant it.

Aiden shot him a cold glare. “If you ever hurt Kayla, I’ll wipe out the Prescott family.”

“Never gonna happen!” Tuff laughed, trying to play it cool.

But inside, he was fuming. ‘This little brat is actually threatening me? If it weren’t for the wedding, I’d knock him on his ass!‘

“Uncle Aiden, stay at our place tonight. We have a new home now,” Landen said, reaching out to take Aiden’s hand affectionately, just like old times.

Tuff was speechless.

‘No way! Tonight our new home is not open to guests!‘ The

grumbled inwardly.

‘Who lets their brother–in–law crash next door on their wedding night, anyway?‘

“Um…” Tuff shot Landon a look.

‘Come on, someone get this maniac out of here! I don’t want him messing up my wedding night!‘ Tuff was practically begging in his head.

Landon was even less interested in having Aiden stay over at his place.

So, he just pretended not to notice Tuff’s silent cry for help.

Amelia was cracking up inside, but she said out loud, “Mr. Kyle, the Kingsley family gave Kayla a hotel as a wedding gift. Why don’t you go help keep things in order over there?”

“Okay.” Aiden agreed with a grin.

Everyone breathed a silent sigh of relief.

“That kid isn’t related to Kayla,” Aiden told Tuff.

He’d seen the blood stain on Kayla’s bedsheet with his own eyes.

So there was no way that kid could be Kayla’s child.

But as for Landon, Aiden narrowed his eyes, a knowing glint flashing in them.

“And he’s got nothing to do with me either,” Landon said with clear irritation, shooting Aiden

a

sharp glare.

‘That kid… he’s Dad’s illegitimate son,‘ Landon thought.

But he couldn’t say that out loud.

‘If Mom ever found out Dad had an illegitimate child, it would break her heart,’ Landon pondered, feeling a pang of guilt.

“Mr. Kyle, see you,” Amelia said, waving as she dragged Landon away.

She lowered her voice and asked, “What exactly did Marvin say to you?”

“That kid… he might actually be my dad’s…” Landon muttered, barely above a whisper.

Amelia had figured it out.

Otherwise, that kid wouldn’t look so much like Landon.

“Who’s the kid’s mother?” Amelia asked.

Landon opened his mouth, but the words just wouldn’t come out.

“Marvin must’ve told you something. Come on, spill it! I can handle whatever it is,” Amelia said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she watched his face

‘What’s the big secret that’s got him so worked up?‘ Amelia wondered.

“It’s… Aunt Shelby,” Landon finally blurted out.

What the hell!

A bombshell dropped out of nowhere, leaving Amelia completely shell–shocked.

Isaac and Gloria had always been known as the perfect couple in high society circles.

Even after years of meddling from Donna and Henry, their relationship had remained rock–solid.

There were even rumors that plenty of women had tried to seduce Isaac, but he had always turned them down flat.

And it turned out that this so–called perfect husband had an illegitimate child?

Okay, fine, having an illegitimate child was one thing. Maybe it was just a drunken mistake or some kind of setup at a business dinner–stuff like that, you could still chalk it up to bad luck.

But for the kid to be born from Shelby?

That was just explosive–so shocking that it was almost impossible to believe!

“We can’t let Mom find out,” Landon sighed.

“Got it,” Amelia replied.

She let out a sigh too, feeling just as helpless as he did.

If Isaac were still alive, at least Gloria would have someone to demand answers from.

But he’d been gone for years, and she didn’t even get the chance to ask him why.

Just thinking about it made Amelia feel sad on Gloria’s behalf.

“I think we really need to get to the bottom of this first. We can’t just take their word for it,” Amelia said, clinging to one last bit of hope in her heart.
