Chapter 274
Chapter 274
“You got poisoned again?” Jonas’s tone changed instantly.
Amelia’s eye twitched at the word “again.” “It’s not me…”
“Phew, you scared the heck out of me.” Jonas relaxed immediately. “I was thinking how you could be so unlucky to get poisoned again after you just started having some good days.”
“Don’t jinx me,” Amelia grumbled.
Jonas chuckled. “So, when are you having baby number two?”
“I’ve got no time for that right now. My mother–in–law’s been hit with charm poison. Can you break it?” Amelia asked.
Jonas fell silent.
Amelia’s heart tightened. “You can’t either?”
Jonas asked, “Did you get in touch with Dr. Mitchell?”
Amelia replied immediately, “Yes.”
Jonas asked again, “Did he tell you it was charm poison?”
Amelia nodded. “Yes.”
Jonas fell silent again.
Amelia grew impatient and pressed, “Can you do it or not? Just say it.”
“I can’t,” Jonas said, his tone dropping significantly.
Amelia frowned. ‘Was I being too harsh? Did I hurt his pride?‘ she wondered.
Amelia tried to explain, “Hey, I didn’t mean it like that. You’re amazing–a total genius when it comes to poisons…”
Jonas cut her off softly, “I know.”
Amelia was confused. “Then why are you still so down?”
“What are we supposed to do? No one can save your mother–in–law…” Jonas was actually choking up.
Amelia felt her heart sink even lower, her hands and feet growing cold.
It took her a while to find her voice again. “But Dr. Mitchell said the person who poisoned her could break it…”
“No one would give up their own life to save someone else,” Jonas said.
“What?” Amelia’s face went pale. “Does that mean the only way to cure it is to use the life of the one who cast the poison?”
Jonas explained, “Yes. Charm poison is half toxin, half spell. You get what I mean?”
“That’s seriously supernatural, huh?” Amelia said.
her die!‘
When it came to charm poison, there was absolutely nothing to be found online.
On the way to the Gellar family, Aaron had already scoured every corner of the internet.
Aaron hesitated, “Mr. Kingsley, I couldn’t find anything useful at all…”
“Then forget it,” Landon said, his gaze dark and fixed on the Gellar family in the distance. “We’ll just ask them directly.”
As soon as the car pulled up at the Gellar family’s gate, Shelby appeared behind the door. “Landon, what brings you here?”
She smiled warmly, just like always, as if nothing had happened.
It was like they were still the closest relatives.
“You know why I’m here,” Landon said, striding into the house.
Shelby showed not a hint of fear.
She unhurriedly followed behind him and said, “You’re here for your mother, aren’t you? She can’t have surgery anymore, right?”
“So it really was you who poisoned her!” Landon snapped.
Landon stopped in his tracks, spun around, and grabbed Shelby by the throat.
Shelby didn’t resist. She just kept smiling at Landon. “Even if you strangle me to death, your mother won’t survive.”
Landon let go of hier, his jaw clenched in fury. “Hand over the cure!”
“There is no cure,” Shelby replied, shaking her head.
Before Landon could get violent again, she added, “But I can guarantee she won’t lose her life because of this.”
“She needs surgery! Otherwise, it could turn into cancer!” Landon shouted.
Either the risk of cancer or the poison alone could take Gloria’s life!
“Who could’ve guessed she’d get that sick? But honestly, you were way too ruthless to the Gellar family. If you hadn’t pushed us so hard, I never would’ve poisoned her,” Shelby said.
She was actually acting like she was in the right!
Landon’s temples throbbed with anger.
“I can give you money,” Landon said.
How much? Shelby asked.

O
“How much do you want?” Landon shot back.
64%
Shelby smiled. “Actually, I’m not doing this for myself. I’m doing it for Jeffrey. He’s your brother, and he should have half of Kingsley Group.”
“Half? Huh!” Landon’s chest heaved with rage.
‘What an outrageous demand!‘ Landon thought to himself.
“Once a daughter is married, she’s no longer part of her birth family. Of course, Kingsley Group should be divided between Isaac’s two sons,” Shelby said.
“Half is out of the question. At most, Jeffrey gets ten percent,” Landon said.
“That’s too little,” Shelby said, shaking her head.
Landon wasn’t stingy about money. The real problem was that Jeffrey wasn’t in his right mind–everything he owned was under Shelby’s control.
If those shares landed in Shelby’s hands, it was as good as handing them straight to her son, Marvin.
This scheming mother and son had been plotting against his mom for years–there was no way he was going to let them have anything.
“Then we’re done talking about money,” Landon said, giving a sharp clap of his hands.
Several bodyguards headed upstairs and dragged Marvin and Lucia down.
Tristan followed behind them, silently smoking a cigarette.
Landon had sent his grandparents abroad for a vacation. Now, he could burn the Gellar family to the ground without a second thought.
“Landon, what do you think you’re doing?” For the first time, Shelby finally showed a hint of panic.
With a single glance from Landon, Marvin was slammed down onto the table, and one of his fingers was ruthlessly cut off.
“Ah!” Marvin let out a blood–curdling scream.
His agonized cries echoed through the room.
Blood splattered everywhere, leaving Shelby and Lucia’s faces drained of all color in terror,
“Landon, you… you…” Shelby’s voice trembled, her whole body shaking uncontrollably.
Lucia was the only one who kept her cool. “Landon, if you kill us, your mom’s as good as dead.”
“If I have to drag all three of you down to the grave with my mom, so be it,” Landon said, lighting a cigarette and blowing out smoke with a cold swagger.
“Fine, just kill us all then,” Marvin snarled through gritted teeth.
Now it was just a contest to see who was more ruthless.
Losing a finger? That was nothing. Marvin didn’t believe for a second that Landon had the guts to actually kill them.
“Keep going. Landon ordered coldly.
Marvin screamed again as another finger was chopped off.
