‘But his mouth isn’t moving,‘ she realized.

It’s his inner voice he hasn’t lost his memory!‘ Amelia’s heart skipped a beat.

Amelia’s pupils contracted in shock, but she quickly forced herself to keep sobbing. “Landon, you don’t remember me again… I’m sorry, it’s all my

[Just keep acting. Everything will be fine.] Landon’s voice echoed in her mind.

She covered her mouth and nodded hard.

Her heart, which had been weighed down by despair, suddenly bloomed with hope, like a flower bursting out of a desert.

‘As long as my Honey has my back, nothing can stop us!‘ she thought.

“Who are you? How did you hurt me?” Landon asked, only speaking up after making sure his wife had calmed down, playing his part perfectly.

“You…you don’t remember me? I knew it…” Amelia said sadly, then fell silent, just quietly sobbing from time to time.

Seeing this, Monroe was very pleased.

But what he didn’t know was that the lovebirds were chatting telepathically the whole time!

[Don’t worry. Night Owl helped me hypnotize Bill. Everyone thinks I’ve lost my memory.] Landon’s voice reassured her.

[I’m heading to Dreicean for a bit. You stay home and look after Mom and the kids. Once I’m back, all our troubles will be over for good.

Amelia lowered her eyes, masking her shock with a look of sadness.

‘Control time? Monroe’s superpower is seriously overpowered!‘ she thought.

But she was not that capable–all she could do was just to hear her Honey’s inner voice.

Please, give me a cheat! Level up my powers!‘ she begged inwardly.

‘One day, I want to be so overpowered that I can absolutely crush Monroe!‘ she added to herself.

[Honestly, I’m not even sure if that’s Monroe. He has an identical twin brother, and the two often appear alternately.] Landon’s inner voice echoed.

‘What?‘ Amelia was completely floored.

‘He’s got superpowers and a twin to swap with? How is this even fair? This guy’s life is totally hacked!‘ she thought.

[I’m pretty sure the Mystic Sect has other people with superpowers, too. So, Amy, you absolutely can’t let them find out about you.] Landon’s inner voice sounded in her mind.

That’s what Landon was most worried about.

Amelia took a deep breath, blinking as she answered him in het heart. I’ll be careful!]

“Alright, it’s time for you to rest,” Monroe said, gently holding Landon’s hand, looking every bit the caring father.

“Who are you?” Landon asked, confused.

“I’m your father–in–law. You were sick and just had surgery. I’m here to take you home—Monica is waiting for you at home,” Monroe replied.

Unconvinced, Landon turned his head to glance at the others.

They all echoed in unison, “Young Master, Miss Monica is waiting for you at home.”

‘Young Master? They sure say it so smoothly,‘ Landon sneered inwardly.

Then, he closed his eyes “weakly“.

Afraid Landon might get hurt, they kept the speed nice and slow on the way to the airport.

Everything went so smoothly–there wasn’t a single obstacle in their path.

Monroe left one of his men behind to hold Amelia hostage. “Don’t let her go until we’ve made it to Dreicean and picked up Monica,” he ordered.

“Yes, Mr. Monroe!” the man replied.

Soon, the private jet took off and disappeared.

Amelia dropped her head, feeling lost and alone inside.

‘Landon, me and our boy will be waiting for you at home. No matter how long it takes, we’ll wait for you,‘ she told herself.

‘So you have to come back to us safe, okay?‘ she added in her heart.

All of this was being watched by the Flying Tiger Sect.

Tuff looked at Amelia on the screen and let out a long sigh. “It’s really hard on her.”

“It will get better!” Kayla said with unwavering determination.

“The Flying Tiger Sect is fully behind this operation!” Tuff wrapped his arms around her from behind as he said.

“The Zuckerberg family will do whatever it takes!” Daniel and Maisie exchanged a glance and declared..

Night Owl, who had just woken up, gave a relieved smile. “Landon is so blessed to have all of you.”

“You’ve got us too,” Aiden chimed in quietly.

Ever since Bill announced that Landon’s surgery was a success, Night Owl had been asleep all this time, only now stirring awake with slurred speech.

She had slept for five whole hours!

It had been ages since she last slept this long, according to Kayla.

Ever since Dawson passed away, Night Owl had been plagued by insomnia, tossing and turning all night long.

Was it a good thing or a bad thing that she managed to sleep so long today?

There were many thoughts going through Aiden’s mind, but all Night Owl said was a cold rebuke, “Mind your own business!

At that, Aiden could only scratch his head awkwardly.

“Night Owl, you worked so hard today. Can you tell us what happened?” Kayla asked, handing Night Owl a drink a freshly made milk apple juice.

“I hypnotized Bill and his assistant, so the chip was never actually implanted in Landori’s brain. But to make it look convincing, I let Bill make a small incision,” Night Owl said bluntly.

“Good, very good…” Kayla felt completely relieved.

The small incision was proof that the surgery had taken place. Now, it was all up to Landon to act his heart out!

“Did you bring the memory loss chip back?” Tuff asked.

Night Owl reached into her pocket and pulled out a tiny silver object.

“Here it is,” she said.

“Wow, it’s so delicate…” Tuff couldn’t help but marvel.

He took the chip from her, utterly impressed.

“Honey, take it back and have the lab look into it!” Kayla suggested.

“Of course! Absolutely,” Tuff replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

The Mystic Sect’s chip technology was truly unique–memory loss chips were all single–use, and once activated, they lost all research value.

But this brand–new one could perfectly replace the three chips that had been removed from Kayla and Landon’s brains, making comprehensive research possible!

“Night Owl, we owe you big time this round,” Kayla said with a heartfelt sigh. “If Landon hadn’t known you, we would’ve been totally helpless.”

“Thanks to Dawson for knowing him…” A heavy pain flashed through Night Owl’s eyes.

Aiden felt a sharp pang in his chest and, without thinking, shifted awkwardly to the side.

‘So… What kind of guy was her ex, anyway?‘ he couldn’t help wondering.

“Anyway, it’s all just fate,” Night Owl said, steering the conversation away. “Kayla, is Amelia still not back yet?”

Kayla glanced at the time and said, “Amy would come back only after Monroe gets to Dreicean and takes Monica and Marvel away.”

“Then I’m gonna take another nap,” Night Owl said.

“Alright!” Kayla replied.

Night Owl set her cup down and sank into the couch, going right back to sleep.

She couldn’t even be bothered to move back to her room.
