That night, Daniel couldn’t sleep either.

He couldn’t stop thinking about healing powers, resurrection abilities, and how genetics played into all of it.
Monroe’s powers were a family thing. He got them, but Marvel didn’t.
The Kingsley family never had any abilities, so Kimsey must’ve inherited hers from Amelia, with a genetic twist making them even stronger.
He thought, ‘But where did Amelia’s powers come from? Was it from the Zuckerberg family or the Hughes family?‘
Suddenly, Daniel remembered the secret manual the Montgomery family had returned.
He couldn’t read it, but that didn’t matter. He could Google it or just ask people online for help.
The world’s a big place. Maybe someone out there could actually read this stuff.
Daniel clumsily copied a few of the characters, snapped a picture, and posted it online asking for answers.
After finishing his morning cultivation, Lennon was scrolling through the internet as usual when he stumbled upon the help post. His expression changed dramatically.
He dashed into the church. “Sir, we’ve got a problem…”

“Mommy, let’s go play…” Kimsey whined.
After the snow cleared up, the moment Kimsey woke up, he started pestering to go to the amusement park.
Amelia wasn’t in the mood for that.
It was time for a little lesson.
“Kimsey, you touched Betty’s leg yesterday, didn’t you?” Amelia asked softly, speaking each word clearly.
Kimsey beamed, clearly expecting a compliment.
“Kimsey, do you really think that just because you helped someone heal, you get to go to the amusement park?” Amelia asked.
“Yes!” Kimsey nodded enthusiastically.
Amelia took a deep breath. The explanation was over. It was time for a little scare.
“Kimsey, do you realize you’re in trouble?” Amelia said.

He stared blankly at his mom, not understanding.
‘Did I do something wrong?‘ Kimsey wondered.

“Kimsey, not everyone is as amazing as you are. So you can’t just go around healing people. Otherwise, people might think you’re some kind of freak and take you away, and you’ll never see me again,” Amelia warned.
Panic flickered in Kimsey’s eyes, and his mouth twisted as he looked like he was about to burst into tears.
“I’m not a monster! Don’t catch me… Don’t take me away…” Kimsey sobbed.
His words tumbled out in a blur, mixed with sobs and wails, all jumbled up in fear.
Amelia’s heart ached as she gathered Kimsey into her arms.
She just let him
cry it out.
Amelia had to make sure Kimsey understood just how serious this was.
Usually, whenever Kimsey started crying, Amelia would rush to comfort him. But today, Amelia didn’t budge.
Inside, Kimsey was a mess of panic–scared he’d done something really bad, and terrified that the bad guys would come take him away.
Frightened, he reached out his chubby little hands to hug Amelia’s neck, but Amelia, steeling herself, refused to let him.
“Kimsey, listen to me. Unless I tell you to help, you can’t just heal people whenever you want, got it?” Amelia said firmly.
“I… Yes…” Kimsey whimpered, still sniffling.
“And another thing–there aren’t any rules for going to the amusement park. If you want to go, I will always find time to take you,” Amelia reassured her.
“Okay…” Kimsey mumbled, his voice still shaky.
Seeing Kimsey finally agree, Amelia let out a sigh of relief. She kissed her son’s cheek and gently wiped away
his tears.
“Alright, no more tears. I love you the most, and I’ll always keep you safe,” Amelia cooed softly.
“Mommy…” Kimsey sobbed, his cries growing louder.
He was bawling now, tears streaming down his face.
Amelia’s heart ached as she hugged him, whispering comfort.
She couldn’t help but feel bad for being so harsh, even if she knew it was necessary.
Amelia just hoped Kimsey really understood and wouldn’t go healing people so carelessly again.

“Why’s she crying like that?” Landon asked as he walked in.

Kimsey, who had just stopped crying, immediately reached out his arms, looking all pitiful. “Daddy, hug…”
Landon scooped her up, ready to comfort him.
But Amelia quickly cut in, “I’m teaching him a lesson here. Don’t go spoiling her.”
Landon handed Kimsey right back to Amelia without missing a beat. “Listen to your mom.”
Kimsey froze for a second, then suddenly burst into loud, heartbroken sobs.
His wailing was so loud it startled Edith downstairs, who hurried up and asked, “What happened to Kimsey?”
“Edith…” Kimsey whimpered, his voice full of misery.
But before Edith could scoop him up for a hug, Amelia firmly stepped in and stopped her.
“It’s alright, kids are bound to cry sometimes,” Amelia said with a gentle smile. “Landon just got off his night shift. Let’s help her settle down for a nap together.”
“Uh, sure,” Edith said, still looking puzzled.
She left, still puzzled. ‘Kimsey was usually such a good kid, so why all the tears today?‘
What Edith didn’t know was that after she left, Kimsey got another round of “parenting” from Landon, and in the end, he cried himself to sleep.
Amelia finally felt a weight lift off her shoulders–looked like the lesson had gotten through.
Seeing how tired Landon looked, she didn’t ask for details.
Instead, Landon lay down on the bed and started telling her about last night, taking his time.
“Kimsey fixed up Mrs. Prescott’s leg in no time, but she’s so used to that wheelchair and scared of the pain that she hasn’t even realized her leg’s actually healed,” Landon explained.
“I didn’t let him see Dr. Mitchell. The fewer people who know about Kimsey’s secret, the better.”
“Tuff’s plan is to have her hang out at Project Azureveil for a few days, then say she got cured with some cutting–edge modern medicine,” Landon added.
Everyone was wracking their brains so Maggie wouldn’t catch on to what really happened.
Amelia was flooded with mixed emotions.
