Chapter 414
Joyce was sentenced to ten years in prison.
Quentin’s parents came to the Lamberts, crying and blaming them.
Every time the Lamberts confronted Tuff, they accused him of being the reason they lost Dominick.
Now, it was their turn to be blamed by others.
They had nothing to say.
Dominick was gone, but the Lamberts still had Joyce. The Waltons, on the other hand, had lost their only son, Quentin.
And it was Joyce who had started things with him in the first place.
Love–whether given or received–had become a shackle, and in the end, it all led to tragedy.
Seeing the Waltons‘ heartbreak filled the Lambert elders with shame.
At last, they quieted down and stopped bothering Tuff.
But Joyce still wouldn’t come to her senses, stirring up trouble even behind bars.
She accused Kayla of being a spy.
This could’ve been swept under the rug. Tuff and Landon had more than enough power to make it disappear.
But then, the Limitless Sect handed over evidence, exposing Kayla as one of their own.
And just like that, Kayla was taken away.
Tuff stomped his foot, furious. “I should’ve just finished her off when I had the chance!”
“Tuff, how the hell did your wife end up a spy?” Raymondasked, his gunshot wound almost healed.
“She’s not!” Tuff shot back.
“Chill, I was just asking. Why are you so pissed?” Raymondsaid.
Landon calmly explained how Kayla had been kidnapped as a child. Raymondwas stunned. “Man, she survived all that? Guess she’s got some good fortune coming her way!”
“Yeah, she’s been taken away. Satisfied?” Tuff grumbled, barely stopping himself from rolling his eyes at his dad.
Raymondsuddenly changed the subject. “Did you hand in your resignation yet?”
“Turned it in, but they haven’t signed off yet,” Tuff muttered, sounding even more annoyed.

His master was furious, and Tuff was a bundle of nerves.

Back when Landon tried to hand in his resignation, Tuff had accused him of being petty and narrow–minded. Now, the tables had turned. He was the one getting a taste of his own medicine from his master.
“Your master’s been training you for years. It’s normal for him to blow off some steam,” Raymondsaid with a grin, pulling out two bottles of his best booze from the cabinet. “I’m heading out. You keep Mr. Kingsley company.”
“Dad!” Tuff called out, clearly not happy.
Tuff really wasn’t in the mood for drinks right now.
Landon watched Raymondwalk out, his back straight, then said thoughtfully, “This liquor’s pretty good. Let’s have a couple of drinks.”
Tuff was speechless.
“Maybe a couple drinks will bring us some good news,” Landon said.
“Not even a little worried about your sister, Landon?” Tuff asked.
“Not at all. She’s just being questioned, not tortured,” Landon replied.
“But…” Tuff muttered.
“I know Kayla can handle herself,” Landon said, taking a sip of his drink.
Landon sipped his drink, looking totally relaxed, while Tuff just sat there, sulking.
Suddenly, Landon’s phone rang, and he broke into a grin.
Seeing Landon smile just ticked Tuff off even more. “Is that your wife? Go warm her bed and stop crashing at my place.”
“It’s Brian,” Landon replied.
Tuff snatched the phone and demanded, “How could you not keep an eye on Dally? He went and spilled Kayla’s whole background to Joyce…”
Landon quickly took the phone back and said politely, “Dr. Shawn, he’s just really stressed. He didn’t mean to take it out on you.”
“I know,” Brian replied with a smile. “I sent something over by international courier. Keep an eye out for it.”
“What is it?” Landon asked.
“Something that’ll set Kayla free,” Brian said.
“Thanks,” Landon said sincerely.
Chapter 414
“Don’t mention it,” Brian replied.
“Is there anything I can do for you, Dr. Shawn?” Landon asked.
“Just don’t try to kill Dally,” Brian said.
“Fine,” Landon agreed.
Even though Dally was a total troublemaker, Landon still agreed.
Dally was all Brian had left, and they just couldn’t bring themselves to hurt good people anymore.
Joyce sat in her cell, eagerly waiting for her new neighbor–Kayla.
A foreign spy like her was bound to end up in prison.
When Joyce reported Kayla, she even made a special request to have Kayla put right next door.
By now, Kayla must have been found guilty.
Joyce couldn’t help but let out a triumphant laugh as she pictured it all unfolding.
Her cellmate shot her a sideways look. “Why are you acting crazy?”
“You just don’t get it. This is the joy of revenge,” Joyce said, grinning from ear to ear.
“You’re nuts!” her cellmate snapped.
Her cellmate wasn’t wrong. Joyce was clearly losing it.
When Joyce saw Kayla walk in, looking all neat and tidy with Raymondand a bunch of officials at her side, she totally lost it.
“Kayla, look at you now! You finally got what you deserve! You spy, you cancer to your own country!” Joyce cackled.
“Weren’t you acting all high and mighty? Actually telling me you were a spy–like I wouldn’t turn you in? Please!
“You got me locked up, so I’m dragging you down with me. Let’s rot in here together!” Joyce said.
Joyce was acting like a total lunatic.
Kayla shot her a look of calm disdain.
“Kayla, let’s see how you like prison now!” Joyce cackled, then called out to her cellmates, “She’s an international spy! When she moves in, let’s all jump her together!”
The other inmates were shaking in their boots.

Chapter 414
Everyone had seen on TV that spies were total pros. They couldn’t possibly stand a chance against her.
“Kayla, look at you now…” Joyce just wouldn’t let up with her trash talk.
Raymondshook his head and turned to the officer beside him. “Send her to the psych ward.”
“Yes, Mr. Prescott.”
Joyce was taken away on her own, while Kayla never even set foot inside.
Finally, Joyce snapped out of her crazy rant and asked, “Why aren’t you locking her up?”
“Kayla didn’t commit any crime,” Raymondreplied.
“Mr. Prescott, she’s an international spy!” Joyce yelled, totally stunned. “You came here with her. Don’t you know?”
